DURAM COUNTY CAT CLUB – 30 MAY 2009 – BRENDA PEARCEMy sincere thanks to Lorraine and Betty for kindly inviting me to judge at this very well organised and friendly show. I really enjoyed my day with Catrina Simpson who, as always, was great company and handled all the cats superbly. Thank you very much Catrina, hope we can meet up again soon.
AV ORIENTAL IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE
IMP GR CH, HOLDSWORTH’S GR CH BILLSTES TIFFANY. (37m) 9.7.07.
Oriental Cinnamon Tortie. Really looked the part – a very beautiful queen of style and substance. Lovely strength of head, her ears large, wide based, of excellent set. Strong profile, deep firm chin lines up, level bite. Mid green eyes of excellent oriental shape and set – lovely expression. Long well toned body, graceful neckline, stands elegantly on long slender legs with a long whip tail to balance. Superb short sound coat, beautifully prepared, of warm cinnamon brown patched and mingled with shades of red – gleaming with condition. Delightful temperament – went on to be my BOV Oriental Adult later in the day – congratulations.
RES w/h, 2 CORBY & DOLAN’S GR CH IKISHIROO KIRASH TAMSIN. (37a) 30.4.07.
Oriental Blue. A dainty but well proportioned queen of good overall type and balance. Mid length even wedge head, her ears large, well set and with good width at the base. Good strong profile, chin needs a little more depth but it does line up. Acceptable scissor bite. Clear green eyes of good oriental shape and set. Well toned medium length body, lovely feel to her. Slim legs, dainty feet. Tapered tail. Short mid blue coat, sound, even in tone and beautifully prepared. She was beautifully presented and is a very attractive girl in her own right but, for me, not quite an Imperial.
AV ORIENTAL GRAND PREMIER MALE
GR PR, HALLIDAY’S PR TOHGAR MIDNITE MAJIK. (37) 18.10.07.
Oriental Black. A very tall and handsome black panther with that elusive ‘wicked’ expression only the best black cats have! Long strong wedge head with large wide based and beautifully flared ears, strong profile, firm chin and level bite. Eyes of very good oriental shape and set – very expressive with good depth of green. Very long and strong muscular body, stands up tall on long strong legs with a long fine balancing whip tail. Jet black short sound coat, beautifully prepared – shining with health and condition. Beautifully presented – delightful boy.
ORIENTAL BLACK ADULT FEMALE
CC & BOB, HELM’S FLOWERDEW MAGIQUE NOIRE. 19.1.08.
Lovely young lady – very ‘together’. Short even wedge head with large well set ears. Near straight profile with a firm chin and level bite, although she has already lost a few incisors. Pale green oval eyes held a touch full, better when relaxed in her pen. Good length well toned body, nice and firm to the feel. Long legs with oval paws. Tail needs an extra inch and is a touch thick, but it does taper. Short sleek and shining jet black coat, sound to the roots. Presentation and temperament both excellent.
ORIENTAL RED ADULT FEMALE
CC & BOB, MOORE’S KINKAJEWSDEN ALLANAH. 27.5.08.
Lovely overall balance to this very attractive young queen. Long strong wedge head, her ears large wide based and very well set. Near straight profile, just a tiny bump on her nose, firm chin, level bite. Oriental eye shape and set with mid green colour – nicely expressive. Stands beautifully, tall and elegant with a long well toned body, graceful neckline, long slender legs and long whip tail. Rich bright red coat, short, sound and close lying with some tabby markings evident. Lovely temperament – excellent presentation.
ORIENTAL TORTIE ADULT
BOB, HOLDSWORTH’S GR CH BILLSTES TIFFANY. (37m) 9.7.07.
CC, HIRST’S CH TOGHAR PASTICHE. (37h) 16.7.07.
Chocolate Tortie. Very attractive girl, very even in type and well balanced. Strong mid length wedge head with large ears, wide at the base and well set. Very good straight profile, firm chin, good bite. Mid green oriental eyes with good expression. Long well muscled body, long slender legs, good length whip tail. Lovely short, close coat – excellent texture, of rich warm chocolate well patched and mingled with shades of bright red. Beautifully prepared and presented.
ORIENTAL CREAM OR APRICOT ADULT MALE
CC & BOB, ATKINSON’S WESTGARTH STORMCAT. (37fn) 8.5.08.
Apricot. Well grown youngster, strong and handsome, already with a masculine appearance. Long strong wedge head, his ears large, wide at the base, well set and flared. Straight profile, chin needs a touch more depth, bite level. Oriental shape and set to mid green olive toned eyes – lovely expression. Long strong body and neckline, lovely hard muscular feel to him. Long strong legs. Long whip tail. Short, close lying, softly dusted apricot coat, sound to the roots with just a few ghost tabby markings evident on his flanks. Beautifully presented – gentle boy.
ORIENTAL SMOKE ADULT MALE
CC w/h, 1 GIBBON’S SAITAN SULIANINSHADES. (42b) 28.4.08.
Chocolate Smoke. Shy but sweet tempered youngster, very immature at present and needing to gain in masculinity. Mid length wedge head with just a tiny pinch. Ears large and set well. Straight profile, chin needs more depth but does line up, level bite. Clear green oval eyes. Long body, firm but not yet the real hard feel of a mature male. Long slender legs, long tail. Slightly long chocolate smoke coat showing a few ghost tabby markings on his flanks. The clear near white undercoat extends to approximately half the hair length but was ‘showing through’ in places on his body, and there is rather too much evidence of silver on his mask at the moment giving the appearance of tabby markings. Excellent presentation..
ORIENTAL CREAM OR APRICOT NEUTER MALE
Judged for BOB only, BOB HINCHCLIFFE’S GR PR JADEVYN PHARAOH. (37fn) 12.9.03.
Apricot. A very stylish and imposing lad going on for 6 years. Strong wedge head with large wide based ears, very well set and flared. Strong profile with a deep firm chin. His teeth untidy with some missing, but the bite looked good enough. Olive green eyes, very expressive and of excellent oriental shape and set. Long well nourished muscular body with long strong legs. His tail needs a little more length to perfectly balance such a long body. Short sound coat, free of pattern and of super hot sandy tone. Presentation excellent – he appeared to have a few things to grumble about, but was no trouble to handle.
LILAC POINT SIAMESE ADULT FEMALE
CC & BOB, CORBY & DOLAN’S CH IKISHIROO KIA JAM. 11.10.05.
A dainty lady of good overall type and well balanced. Mid length wedge head with a small pinch. Large ears well set. Near straight profile with a firm chin and untidy, but acceptable, bite. Oriental china blue eyes. Well toned body of medium length with long slim legs and a tail of good length to balance. Points a little dark but do show pinkish tones. Very lightly shaded magnolia body with a short and close lying coat of very good texture – contrast very good. Very extrovert, can hold her own in conversation, quite a character! Excellent presentation.
CHOCOLATE POINT SIAMESE KITTEN FEMALE
1 & BOB, SAMPHIER’S BURNTHWAITES RIVERDANCE. 20.1.09.
A well grown baby, very stylish and elegant in type. Long wedge head with a tiny pinch at the moment. Her ears large, wide based, well set and flared. Developing profile, not quite straight as yet. Firm chin, level bite. Expressive vivid blue oriental eyes. Long slender body with long spidery legs and a long fine whip tail. Points just on the limit of acceptability on the day for me, but sadly I think it will become too dark as she grows up. Clear ivory body - short, close lying coat. Presentation and temperament both excellent.
CINNAMON POINT SIAMESE KITTEN FEMALE
1 & BOB, HELM’S TILDEN TINTOFCIN. 30.1.09.
What a lovely little babe. Short strong wedge head with large wide based and very well set ears. Lovely strong profile with a firm chin. Acceptable baby bite. Eyes very good for shape, just a touch straight set at the moment, dark vivid blue in tone – lovely to see. Good length firm body, nice solid feel to her. Long slim legs. Long whip tail. Soft warm cinnamon brown points. Un-shaded ivory body with a short fine baby coat. Beautifully presented – very promising.

1 & BOB, WEBSTER’S SHADOWSQUAD KIERA CARAMIA. (32b1) 23.1.09.
Seal Tortie Point. Well grown attractive baby. Short strong wedge head, tiny pinch at the moment. Ears large, wide at the base, very well set and flared. Straight profile, deep chin, level bite. Mid blue eyes of very good oriental shape and set, ideally need a touch more depth and intensity of colour. Long slender body, well muscled and firm. Long legs. Long fine whip tail. Seal tortie points all broken with shades of bright red developing well. Almost clear warm cream body with a short, close lying coat. Beautifully presented – delightful temperament.
APRICOT POINT SIAMESE NEUTER MALE
IC & BOB, PEARSON’S AMYDAY MERELY A MONARCH. 18.7.08.
Gorgeous 10 month youngster, very well grown and developed for his age – of stunning type. Long strong wedge head, very tiny pinch. His ears very large, very wide based and most beautifully set. Very good straight profile with a firm chin and level bite. Dark blue eyes of excellent oriental shape and set – lovely expression. Long strong muscular body, long strong legs, whip tail to balance. Soft warm, lightly dusted, apricot points. Very lightly shaded warm creamy white body, his coat of superb texture, beautifully prepared, gleaming with health and condition. Beautifully presented, later my BOV Siamese Neuter – I think we will have some superb apricot points to enjoy in their 1st championship year.

3 PONTELLO’S PONTABY ENRICO. (23) 28.8.08.
AV NON MEMBERS ADULT FEMALE
This was a very strong and well supported class, for which I thank the exhibitors. I was sorry that I had to give some of the cats what I am sure was their lowest card of the day, but this was no reflection on their quality, in fact the first five girls were all Certificate winners on the day, and I still had to leave some out!
1 HOLDSWORTH’S GR CH BILLSTES TIFFANY. (37m) 9.7.07.
Oriental Cinnamon Tortie. My beautiful Imperial winner who just refused to step aside.
2 KNIGHT’S GR CH OITAMONSOON TALIAH. (78 30s) 27.2.06.

1 SAMPHIER’S EIREACHDAIL GEORGIABROWN. (48 45) F 11.11.08.
Ticked Tabby & White Bi-Colour. A well grown and attractive kitten of very good type. Good strength to mid length wedge head, large wide based and well set ears, near straight profile, firm chin, bite marginally over at the moment. Slightly full mid green eyes, better when relaxed. Lovely firm feel to her lengthy body with long slim legs and a long whip tail. Superb coat for length and texture with lovely clear treble ticking over her back, one broken necklace, clear leg bars and tail rings. White inverted V on her face with a little white tip to her right ear. White on all four legs and feet, chest and shoulders, and in a continuous fine line under her tummy between several spots of colour. Just makes the 1/3 white.
