Joy Norfolk Eastern Counties Cat Society Show – 7th August 2010My grateful thanks to Show Managers Audrey Newsome her husband Les for their invitation to judge and excellent hospitality So sorry Les had to miss the show this year and wish him a speedy recovery. Thanks also to Ferial for her patience and valuable assistance, and for travelling up especially to assist me. We had some beautiful cats, I thank their owners for the pleasure and for exhibiting under me, I had a very enjoyable day at this popular East Anglian Show. Including Non_Pedigree Open Class DEVON REX KITTEN FEMALE1 – & BOB KINDELL’S KARENANNE LILY WILDE (33a36) F 26 04 10Most attractive, stylish smoke kitten of excellent type and temperament, who showed herself well. Very good top of head curving back to a nice flat skull. Head forms a short broad wedge and viewed in profile shows high cheekbones and a short broad muzzle. Stop is evident and can be felt She shows a very well defined whisker break and a firm level chin of decent depth, the bite was level. Crinkled brow and whiskers. Pleasing expression with large oval eyes with slight slope towards the outer edge of the ear and full cheeks .She displays a lovely quizzical, slightly naughty look. Very large ears which when she is relaxed are fine, but need to be a little lower for perfection. Viewed from the back she has ear muffs and a little tuft on the end of each ear. Elegant slender neck, body feels hard and chest broad. She was well coated with the rexing developing well. Underparts covered in short, soft fur. Stood well on long slim legs with neat oval feet and her tail balancing her body, long and tapering and well covered A very happy kitten of excellent temperament. I was pleased to see that she later became BIS Foreign kitten. Well done . 2 – PALMER’S JONSCOTT ART DECO (33a 36e) F 0601 10Tortie Devon Rex A very well grown kitten of good type and conformation Faultless, presentation with the kitten prepared to perfection. This kitten was outgoing, nice natured and very easy to assess. Head forms a wide short wedge, forehead curved back to a nice flat skull, prominent cheekbones and crinkled brow and whiskers. Quite large, widely set ears which she could hold a bit lower, have small muffs when viewed from behind and have a fine fur covering. Pleasing expression, full cheeks and large chartreuse oval shaped eyes in a correct setting and with good space between. Head is finished in a strong muzzle; firm chin and level bite. Short straight nose, in profile showing some stop. I would like a longer neck, hard muscular body, her coat was dense, felt a little coarse in some areas today. Rexing not in evidence yet although fully coated.. Well covered underparts. Correct stance on long slim and very elegant legs finished with largish paws. Good tail well covered, correct shape and length to be in balance with the body. Well grown kitten of good temperament, who showed herself well. AV SHORTHAIR ADULT OR KITTEN1 – LAMB’S GR CH NATANGO’S GHANIJAH OF GENIEMAU (78 30) F 4 11 07A stunning bronze girl with a lovely rich colour and well defined pattern; her head formed a medium wedge that was slightly rounded. Showed a gentle contour to the profile and forehead shows a well defined M. Chin slightly sloped away slightly, bite was level. Her eyes were large and well shaped; they were a good gooseberry green . She has an excellent body with elegant legs and a medium length tail with dark tip that balances well. Coat a very rich colour with a warm, coppery tone to the ground colour and the markings and spots were clearly defined. Texture silky and fine and very close lying. The body is of medium length with a firm, muscular feel with a broad, rounded chest and a straight back. Stood well on sturdy legs and neat oval paws. Tail of medium thickness at the base and tapered to a rounded tip just short for balance. The coat is moderately short but rich in colour, a glossy seal brown , fine and satiny. Presented in excellent condition AV SHORTHAIR NEUTER1 – DODKIN’S KOPERKAT AMARE (23a) MN 31 05 09Well behaved lad with a very good head with good width across his cheeks and gentle contour lines. His ears are set well, showing slight forward tilt, set and deeply cupped but lacking tufts. He has the desired slight indent in the profile as required Beautiful deep hazel eyes in the correct setting and very expressive. Very well defined copper facial markings and clear eyeliner which accentuates his very expressive eyes. Chin firm could be a touch deeper for perfection and bite level, just a hint of cream under the chin. He has a very elegant neck, cream around the lips. He has a wonderful coat for texture and rich colouring with an evenness of chocolate ticking throughout. This hall benefits from natural light which shows the beauty of the Abyssinian coat, this lad is a really lustrous sorrel and his coat really shone today. A very faint necklace mark is just visible; this is hard to see as it has merged well into the coat. Colouring a rich lustrous copper rich to base, richly coloured under parts which were completely clear. An elegant medium body, as required by the standard, displays excellent muscle tone. Shows a clearly defined spine line and very well boned. Slender elegant limbs neat feet with small chocolate heels.
