Eastern Counties Cat Club – 7th. August 2010 Mrs Barbara McEwen

Many thanks to Audrey and Les for the invitation to judge at this show. Thanks to my husband Stuart for coming along to steward for me, we had a lovely day with so many wonderful household pets, who were all in lovely condition and most were very friendly.

 Class 886a AC Non-Pedigree

Grand Master Cat Male GM Richard’s IGMC KEVIN THEKOUNTRYKAT

a large handsome boy, 3yrs 11months old. His coat colour was a beautiful rich chestnut red and his bib and socks were a sparkling white. When we arrived he was snuggled up in his bed, then he decided to come and greet us, for a fuss. He has the most laid back character and I loved his beautiful eyes. Shown in excellent condition. Very worthy winner.

Class 886b AC Non-Pedigree Grand Master Cat Female

A lovely class of 4 girls, which made my decision very difficult.

GM Tolhurst’s GMC HEIDI

a lovely 7yr 6month old tortie & white lady. Her markings and colouring are very pretty, with all her white parts being pristine. She was a bit unsure at first (I think she was still half asleep), but soon came out onto the table to be examined. She looks like she enjoys her food and has a wonderful temperament. Well shown in excellent condition.

RES Brown’s MC MATILDA

a nice 3yr 3month old shorthair blue girl with a lovely sleek coat, which was well groomed. She had lovely round bold hazel eyes, which contrasted well with her coat. She had a good temperament and was shown in excellent condition. Sadly Unplaced Macoy’s MC SNOW DROP - a lovely pure white girl 3years old. She was a solidly built young lady with a lovely temperament, wanting a lot of fuss. She was very well prepared, her short dense coat being pristine white and wonderful green eyes. Millett’s MC SPICE – a black & white lady who was in very good condition for her 14 years. She was quite sleepy when we got to her, her coat was glossy and her white parts were snow white. When we had finished judging her, she went back to her forty winks under her blanket. A lovely girl.

Class 897 AC Pedigree Pet

Imperial Grand Master Cat IGM Lloyd’s GMC ARNIE – 5yrs 9months.

A large mature black smoke male in super condition. The contrast in his coat was fantastic, especially at this time of year when they are moulting. He has a lovely round head, with neat ears and gorgeous orange eyes. He has a very placid temperament and is a lovely boy. A worthy winner, congratulations on his Best in Show later in the day.

RES Smith’s GMC FENTON

a lovely well presented pale apricot oriental type boy, who looked in great condition for 11yrs old. He was a solid cat and a good weight. He wasn’t too keen to come out of his bed, but we did manage a brief assessment before he went back to sleep.

Class 888a LH/SLH Tabby Cat of any Pattern with or without white male

Considered for Best of Colour only which went to the female Brown’s GMC LEO

a medium sized 3yr 3month old blue tabby boy. He was a happy, friendly boy with a placid nature. A very handsome boy with lovely blue tabby markings, well prepared and shown in lovely condition.

Class 888b LH/SLH Tabby Cat of any Pattern with or without white female

Considered for Best of Colour only BOC Brown’s GMC HONEY

a beautiful tortie tabby girl with lovely clear distinct colouring and markings. Her coat was short with a glossy feel and she has beautiful bold eyes. She was so alert wanting to come out as soon as we got to her, loved being handled. She has a lovely placid temperament. Well shown in excellent condition.

1 MC BOC Jame’s CLASSICAL JAZZ

Large well grown Brown Tabby boy for his age of 1yr 1 month. He has a lovely round head with beautiful large eyes, his classic tabby markings are quite clear and distinct, having a good contrast. He was well prepared for the show. I think he is going to be a big boy when he fully matures. A friendly chap, well shown.

2nd Brown’s SUNNY

a nicely marked brown spotted tabby boy, had a lovely complete necklace, and beautiful hazel eyes. He was a little on the shy side. At 1yr 3months old, he had good weight to him, but he still has a lot of maturing to do. He was well prepared for the show. Today he wanted to be back in his pen. Shown in lovely condition.

 1 MC BOC Edward’s JET
