JOYCE GREEN * REPORT ON THE EDINBURGH & EAST OF SCOTLAND SHOW 2010

Thank you for inviting me to judge and for the warm hospitality. I am very grateful to my most efficient and helpful steward, Alan Woolley.

SEMI LH IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER: MALE

IMP GR PR MCGURK GR PR DOTCOM IMONFIRE 64 44dw

Large impressive boy feeling solid and muscular, substantial legs, huge well tufted paws, long furry tail in proportion. Super coat has glossy overcoat, wearing ruff and breeches; lovely bright colouring with the white parts pristine. Well shaped head, square muzzle & firm chin, nice line in profile. Large well furnished ears are set high; very nice eye shape and expression.

RES DAVIE GR PR YAHESKA AVALANCHE 64 14c

Another large impressive boy well muscled with rectangular appearance. Substantial legs, large paws are well tufted. Lovely length to tail, it goes on forever. Profuse coat is white throughout and he is wearing ruff and breeches. Medium head has square muzzle, nice line in profile, good chin. Large tall ears set high, well furnished, eyes full and round & showing nice expression.

IMP GR PR COLEMAN GR PR SKOTSKATT BRUN HILDE 67 14c

Stylish girl, very elegant yet well boned and muscular. High on legs, large round paws with tufted toes, lovely long bushy tail. Lovely white coat in pristine condition, glossy topcoat, showing nice ruff and shirtfront and breeches. Triangular balanced head, long straight profile, high placed ears show tufts and streamers. Large oval eyes well opened. A super girl.

AOV SEMI LH CHAMPION: FEMALE

GR CH SKILLING CH CHEHAM TIGERLILLEY 66at

Pretty girl who is very nice all round. Long and well muscled with well boned limbs, large tufted paws, long bushy tail. Fine silky textured coat is well prepared, lovely ruff and knickerbockers; very nice colouring with lovely tabby markings in all desirable areas. Broad head, flat plane between medium ears, well developed muzzle, very nice profile shows slightly retrousse nose; large well opened eyes, lovely expression.

RES DAVIDSON CH JULESCOON PHOEBE 64 41w

Well balanced girl, well muscled body on strong legs, large paws have long tufts, long furry tail in proportion. Very nice coat has glossy topcoat, ruff and breeches evident. Medium head has square muzzle, firm chin, well defined profile. Large tall ears set high, tufted and well furnished. Expressive eyes of good shape are well set.

EXOTIC SH SELF ADULT: MALE

BOB only: NIVEN GR CH DOLINA XCALIBAR

Well structured black boy of very nice type, lovely head, large bold copper eyes. Seasonal coat not quite looking it’s best today.

EXOTIC SH TABBY/TABBY & WHITE ADULT: FEMALE

1 CC CRAIG & BELL CH SHEERBLISS MYSTICAL-CHARM

Very nice type and structure, cobby and muscular, sturdy legs, large round paws, tail in proportion. Her colouring is very attractive and the white parts pristine but she was moulting quite badly today. Round head, good breadth between neat ears which just need time to drop into contours. Short broad nose has well formed leather, bite fractionally under. Large round copper eyes are bold and show lovely expression.

BOB CRAIG & BELL GR CH SHEERBLISS MIRROR IMAGE

Lovely girl very well balanced with nice ‘feel’ about her. Very good head and ears, bold copper eyes are so expressive. I just love her!

AOC EXOTIC SH NON SELF ADULT: FEMALE

1 CC BOB NIVEN NOREXOTIKATTS FIFI SHAMROK 70 51d

Cobby youngster well muscled, sturdy legs with large round paws, tail in proportion. Very nice coat texture, soft and plush, stands out from body; very nice red shading on clear silver base. Broad round head is well shaped, small ears well placed, short broad nose, well formed leather. Muzzle developing, good chin, bite fractionally under. Bold round deep orange eyes.

2 CAMPBELL DEDANNAN RICH TAPESTRY 70 12 1

Another very nice type girl, well muscled cobby body on sturdy legs, paws large and well shaped, well proportioned tail. Coat is dense and stands out from the body, very nice texture. Well broken shades of red with black are well distributed on pure white. Round head has width between ears, short broad nose, well formed leather. Good muzzle, bite seems tidy. Bold round eyes are deep orange but show green ring around the pupil.

BROWN OR BLUE TABBY MAINE COON ADULT: MALE

1 CC BOB WRIGHT POWERKATZ HERO

Huge boy strong and muscular, substantial legs, large feet have long tufts. Lovely coat has glossy topcoat, wearing nice ruff and breeches and he has a lovely long furry tail. Medium head, square muzzle, firm chin, well defined profile line. Large tall well furnished ears set high; very nice eyes of good shape and set, showing lovely expression. A handsome exhibit.

SILVER TABBY MAINE COON ADULT: MALE

1 GREGSON RAVENCOON KING CREOLE (IMP)

A well muscled and weighty boy with good ‘feel’ to body, substantial limbs, large well tufted paws, long furry tail. His coat has very good length, showing ruff and breeches; the silver undercoat was spoilt by quite a lot of tarnish on his face and head and also on his back and underbody; this being my reason for not awarding the certificate as the standard states categorically that tarnishing is undesirable. Balanced medium head, square muzzle, large tall ears well set, tufted tips; very nice eyes and expression. BOB WRIGHT CH POWERKATZ EVOLUTION Very nice type and structure, very good coat, clear silver base with pure white. Well shaped head and ears, square muzzle, nice eyes and expression.

AOC MAINE COON ADULT: FEMALE

1 CC BOB DAVIE COONFLAAKES TEQUILA SUNRISE

Just over 9 months old and looking very promising. Long body well muscled, well boned limbs, large paws have loing tufts, excellent length to furry tail. Lovely coat with ruff and breeches, glossy overcoat, good pattern and the tortie colours are bright. Well shaped head, large tall ears set high, long tufts and furnishings. Square muzzle, nice line in profile. Expressive eyes. A delightful exhibit.

2 WRIGHT POWERKATZ MY IMAGINATION

Another nice youngster only just adult. Long body well muscled, strong legs, large well tufted paws. Very good coat with ruff and breeches, glossy overcoat, long furry tail; pure white fur contrasts with the clear tortie tabby colours. Medium head, large tall well tufted and feathered ears, square muzzle, good chin; eyes of good shape and set, very nice expression, a real sweetie.

3 DAVIDSON SHAWCOON DUSK TILL DAWN

This young lady is very nice but seems to be going through the adolescent stage at present. Long body has good muscle, well boned limbs, large tufted paws, long tail in proportion. Her coat is changing at the moment and lacking length, ruff and breeches developing, very nice colouring with pure white. Medium head, square muzzle, large ears set high, nice tufts and well furnished. Expressive eyes of good shape and set.

SELKIRK REX NEUTER: MALE

BOB only: BUCK GR POR CURLU OSCAR 79L40

A super fellow in all respects, lovely size ad structure, his coat has plenty of soft plush curls and the tail curls are plumy. Lovely strong rounded head with well padded whisker pads, large well opened eyes are so expressive.

SORREL ABYSSINIAN ADULT: FEMALE

1 CC BOB CLARKE ABDERUS BLAZING CHAOS

Elegant young lady, lithe and muscular with well proportioned tail and limbs, dainty paws. Lovely coat lies close, very good texture, very good chocolate ticking on apricot base, clear facial markings, she has overall lustrous coppery appearance. Head well contoured, moderate wedge, very slight profile break, large well cupped tufted ears set well apart. Wide-set rounded almond eyes show nice expression.

RUSSIAN BLUE NEUTER: MALE

1 PR BOB HETTMANN PR DUSHENKA STANISLAV

A mature big gentle fellow so relaxed and friendly. Very good type feeling solid and muscular with tail and limbs in proportion. Lovely dense fine coat is soft and clear blue in colour, distinct silvery sheen overall. Balanced head has very good profile showing distinct angle, prominent whisker pads, good chin. Large pointed ears are wide at base and set high; vivid green almond eyes set wide apart.

2 COLLINS SITHEE TRUBLUAZLAN

Another mature boy and I loved the look of him but sadly he was so unhappy that I had to judge him in the pen. Lovely coat with dense undercoat feeling soft and fine and the colour very good with distinct silvery sheen. Head is short in the wedge, good angle to profile, prominent whisker pads. Large pointed ears set vertically; vivid green almond eyes are well set.

RUSSIAN B LUE NEUTER: FEMALE

1 PR FEKETY TROIKA GONCHAROVA

A very nice young lady of ten months and well grown for age, firm and muscular, well proportioned tail and limbs, dainty oval paws. Short fine coat is soft in texture and shows very good colour with distinct silvery sheen. Well shaped head, short wedge, good angle to virtually straight profile, whisker pads quite prominent, good chin. Large pointed ears are very well set and she holds them well. Green almond eyes set wide, she has a lovely expression.
