Erin Cat Club Show 4th September 2010 Dr Peter Collin

Many thanks for the invitation from Sam and David to judge at the Erin. I had a super time and had some very beautiful Burmese to assess. The support from the show managers and exhibitors in Northern Ireland through my time on the judges scheme was very welcome and humbling and it was very special for me to be able to return as a full judge. Many thanks to for her stewarding and company both of which were first class.

AC Burmese Grand Premier (Imp GrPr)

1st and Imp GPCC Niblock’s Ch + GrPr Artro Brown Beth (27) FN 9.12.03

A super start to my day. Right up my street! Very short wide wedge with excellent width at her cheekbones and tapering to a lovely short blunt muzzle. She has excellent width to the top of her head with very good rounding and very good width between her medium sized ears that are set well apart. Her eyes are moderately large in shape and set well apart. They have a well defined shape and apart from wanting a tad more bottom line rounding are near ideal. They are chartreuse in colour and she has a very good Burmese expression. In profile her depth of head is good. Her forehead is a little flat and her nose break is well defined. Her nose is short and nearly straight and finishes in the same vertical plane as her chin that is medium in depth. Her bite is correct. Her body is compact in shape and she is somewhat matronly now! Her tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. Her coat is a little long but lies well with a little scurf today. She is a warm dark seal colour and is clear coated. Her condition was good and she is a very sweet character. Super example of the breed

AC Burmese Grand Champion (Imp GrCH)

1st Imp GCC Withheld Ferguson’s GrCH Teraoha Augustus Brown (27) M 21.7.08

A 2 year old boy still looking a little immature. He has a moderately short wedge with very good width at his cheekbones and tapering to a somewhat long muzzle than ideal but which has a blunt finish. He has nice rounding to the top of his head and reasonable width between his medium sized ears of correct shape. His eyes are set wide apart and of large size and a correct shape and are chartreuse in colour. In profile he has a slightly long flat forehead and his nose break requires more definition. His nose is a little long and has a bump. His chin is medium in depth and set a little back. His bite is correct. His body is compact in size and well muscled and elegant. His tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. His coat is absolutely superb and the best I have encountered for a long time. It is short and fine textured and lies beautifully. It is a warm toned seal brown and he is clear coated. He is a shy and gentle soul. Sorry to disappoint.

The headache class I was hoping I would get!

GCC Niblock’s Ch Aureus Aphrodite (27) F 8.10.06

Lovely mature 4 year old girl in her prime! Her superb expression and wonderful type won the day. Short wide balanced wedge with excellent width at her cheekbones and tapering to a short blunt muzzle. The top of her head shows excellent rounding and super width between her medium sized ears that are set very well apart and continued the line of the upper part of her face. Her eyes are truly breathtaking being set wide apart, large in size and with a well rounded bottom line and flatter top line angled towards her nose and displaying a totally withering Burmese expression of immense disdain. They are yellow in colour. In profile the depth of her head is excellent and her brow is gently rounded and nose break is fairly well defined. Her nose is short and straight and ends in the same vertical plane as her chin that is medium in depth. He bite is correct. Her body is medium in size and well muscled and elegant. Her tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. Her coat is medium in length of a fine satin like texture and lies very well. It has a lovely sheen. She has a few stud damage white hairs at her neck. Her condition is super and she is a shy girl who handled very well. My choice for Best of Variety and she was judged by Mrs. Matthias Mrs. Walkden and Mrs. Denny as overall Best in Show later in the day. Congratulations to her doting owner!

Res GCC Niblock’s Ch Molynmeux Princess Aoife (27a) F 23.7.07

Another lovely girl of excellent type. A balanced short wide wedge with very good width at her cheekbones and tapering to a fairly short blunt muzzle. The top of her head showed good rounding and she has very good width between her large ears of correct shape. Her eyes are large in size, set wide apart and have a correct shape although I would like her top line to be a little flatter. They are chartreuse in colour. In profile her depth of head is good and her brow is short and gently rounded. Her nose break is well defined and her nose is fairly short and straight and ends in the same vertical plane as her chin that is slightly shallow in depth. Her bite is correct. Her body is medium in size and well muscled and elegant. Her tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. Her coat is fairly short and has a satin like texture, lies very well and she is a soft medium toned blue with good silvering to her extremities. Her condition was excellent and she was very friendly.

2nd Patience’s Girona Smile (27) F 8.11.08

Very nice younger girl of good type. She has a short wedge with reasonable width at her cheekbones and a fairly short blunt muzzle. The top of her head is gently rounded and I would like a little more width between her ears. Her eyes are set wide apart and are reasonably large with a correct shape and are a lovely golden yellow. In profile her depth of head is good and her nose break is well defined. Her nose is slightly long and medium in depth and slips back slightly. Her tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. Her coat is a little long but lies well and she is a warm toned seal brown. Her condition and temperament were very good.

 1st CC and Bob Patience’s Girona Positivity (27b) F 10.10.09

Fairly short wedge with reasonable width at her cheekbones and tapering to a slightly long muzzle with a blunt finish. The top of her head shows good rounding and reasonable width between her ears which would benefit from being set a little lower. Her eyes are set wide apart and are large in size, of correct shape and are yellow in colour. In profile her depth of head is good and her nose break needs a little more definition. Her nose is a little long but straight and finishes in the same vertical plane as her chin that is medium in depth. Her tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. Her coat is medium in length and is a warm chocolate with some facial contrast. Her condition and temperament were good.

2nd Patience’s Girona Woodfairy (27b) F 10.10.09

Her type is very similar to her sister but she has a little less width at her cheekbones and less blunt finish to her muzzle but the placings could be easily change with maturity.

Lilac Burmese Adult Male

1st CC Patience’s Lillyrae Arctic Monkey (27c) M 16.9.07

Nice chap a little upset today. He has a short wedge with good width at his cheekbones and tapering to a slightly long muzzle with a blunt finish. The top of his head shows good rounding and he has good width between his medium sized ears. He has reasonably good width between his eyes which are large in size with a correct shape and are yellow in colour. In profile his forehead is a little long and flat and his nose break is fairly well defined. His nose is a little long and his chin is medium in depth and slips back slightly. His bite is correct. His tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. His coat is medium in length and a little coarse in texture along his back. He is a dark creamy toned lilac with shading on his shoulders. His condition was good and he handled well enough despite being a little upset.

A young girl of nice type. She has a short wedge with good width at her cheek bones and tapering to a blunt muzzle. 3rd Niblock’s Emer Relentless (27) M 29.5.10

Similar in style to his brother but he has slightly less width at his cheek bones, a slightly longer nose which rounds and eyes which are not quite as large and display a chartreuse inner rim. It will be interesting to see how these two compare as they mature.
