WEST OF ENGLAND & S. WALES CAT SOC. CH.SHOW. 270811

BETTY SHINGLETON

My thanks to Grace, her Team and the Committee for my invitation to judge and the kind hospitality. I had an enjoyable day with lovely cats to judge. My thanks to Graham Hagger for stepping in at the last minute to steward for me.

OLYMPIAN CLASS – AV IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER MALE.

OLYMPIAN CERT. ARNOLD’S UK & IGR PR PAPAVER PARIS. 33 31s. 070904.

A very worthy winner of this award. Excellent example of the Breed. I gave a full report on this boy having awarded him BOB at the recent Ken, Kit. & Neuter Show.

RES.OLYMPIAN CERT. NEWMAN’S IGR PR DAIRYMAINE KASABIEN. 64 19. 030806.

Overall very good balanced head, square muzzle with a firm chin, cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones, and nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Large tall ears, wide at base and tapering to appear pointed, good set, eyes very expressive spaced well part and good colour. Body large, would like a little more muscle rather than the tendency to be a little over weight, substantial legs, balanced tail. Coat very good texture and presentation, rich red markings just a little deffusion of the pattern.

OLYMPIAN CLASS – AV IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER FEMALE.

OLYMPIAN CERT. WORMALD’S IGR CH& IGR PR DANLEIGH STARBUST.13c6. 250404.

Today this girl looked every inch an “Olympian”. Overall balanced head, scull strong broad and rounded, nose medium in length with slight dip in profile, cheeks full and round tapering to a strong well developed muzzle, chin well developed. Ears medium in size and spaced well apart, eyes almost round expressive and still holding a reasonable blue colour. Very good conformation and condition and of good substance for age, medium length legs, paws short and strong, balanced tail. Coat beautifully presented – every hair in place, points seal brown intermingled with shades of red, body evenly coloured. Good gloves and gantlets. A typical “tortie” personality! Congratulations to the owner/breeder.

RES. OLYMPIAN CERT. SIMPSON’S UK IGR PR PAPAGENA NADINA. 27h230798.

I had the pleasure of awarding the Olympian Certificate to this girl at the recent Ken. Kit & Neuter Show, my full report on line. She looked just as good today, I think she liked the West Country air as very relaxed! Today she was just beaten by a very impressive Birman.

IMPERIAL CLASS – AVSLH GR PR NEUTER MALE.

IMP.GRND.PREM.CERT. MORRISON’S GR PR EMANAN DAVEY JONES. 63. 150705.

A very nicely balanced boy. A moderate wedge with brow, cheek and profile lines showing gentle contours, slight rise from the bridge of the nose to the forehead which is high and good width between ears, shallow indentation forms the muzzle, nose showing slight nose break, firm chin and an elegant neck. Ears set wide apart, broad at base, well cupped, large almond shape eyes set obliquely and well apart. Body firm and muscular with a level back, long legs and balanced tail. Coat soft , fine and dense very well presented, overall impression a rich golden brown, with apricot base, clearly defined black ticking, clear black facial markings, black heels, top and tip of tail. Very sweet personality.

RES.IMP.GRND.PREM.CERT. WELCH’S GR PR RYUICHI ARAGON. 13C2. 021208.

Very nicely balanced head, scull strong broad and rounded, nose medium length with slight dip in profile, cheeks very well developed, strong muzzle and firm chin. Medium sized ears spaced well apart, eyes just a little too round, strong blue colour. Well developed body of good substance, medium length thick set legs, tail very short! Coat silky texture and very well presented, even blue points colour. Good gloves and gauntlets.

AC PERSIAN NON-SELF PREMIER NEUTER MALE

GRND.PREM.CERT. GORE’S PR POPUP FREDDIE MERCURY. 12a1. 180809.

Strong rounded scull with neatly placed ears, full cheeks and strong muzzle, short broad nose good break, eyes very large and expressive with good colour. Cobby body, short strong legs and balanced tail. Very good coat texture and presentation, minimum colour, face showing jet black and white, tail and back legs showing black, body sparkling white.

RES.GRND.PREM.CERT. HANCOCK’S CH & PR LINNEL FOREVERLUV. 12a2. 310509.

Nicely balanced head, strong rounded scull, neatly placed ears, cheeks well developed, strong muzzle, short broad nose good break, eyes very good shape, colour a little pale. Cobby body, strong bone and balanced tail. Coat fairly well presented pastel blue and white.

USUAL SOMALI ADULT FEMALE.

BOB. MELIA’S CH SUPATOFT IKA MASALA. 070709.

A nicely balanced girl just reaching her full maturity. Head showing a moderate wedge with brow, cheek and profile lines showing gentle contours, slight rise from the bridge of nose to the forehead which is high with good width between ears, shallow indentation forms the muzzle and in profile showing nose break, firm chin and an elegant neck. Ears set wide apart broad at base and well cupped, expressive eyes of good shape and colour. Overall rich golden brown with apricot base, clearly defined black ticking, black facial markings, black heels and tip of tail. Very sweet nature.

AC COLOURPOINTED OR MITTED RAGDOLL ADULT MALE.

1ST. CERT W/H. BOWKER’S VALKEA ARCHANGEL GABRIEL. 66aw. 240510.

A very young boy needing time to reach full maturity. Overall quite nicely shaped head, medium length nose with gentle dip, cheeks and muzzle not fully developed. Ears medium in size, set quite wide with forward tilt, expressive eyes, colour not fully set. Overall good conformation, fairly strong bone, balanced tail. Coat fairly well presented two front mittens white and evenly matched, back legs white. This young boy was quite nervous, I was very pleased to chat to the owners and hope was of some help.

AC COLOURPOINTED OR MITTED RAGDOLL ADULT FEMALE.

1ST. CERT. W/H. MARJASON’S WERMARBEARS TIA MARIA. 66aw. 080910.

A very young girl, not quite a year old and needing time to fully develop – very much a “kitten-cat”. Fairly good width between ears, cheeks pinched, lacking muzzle, medium length nose with gentle dip. Ears medium in size and quite well set, eyes well opened and showing strong blue colour. Conformation quite small for age, fine bone, balanced tail. Coat fairly well presented well marked mittens and back legs. Sorry to w/h certificate, just at the very in-between stage.

AC RAGAMUFFIN ADULT ASSESSMENT.

The class of young girls and one kitten is a classic example of how the “adolescent” stage effects the development. My kitten at seven months old was at his prime for this age, well grown lovely condition, relaxed and no worries about “hormones”, where as my three girls were right in the throws of “kitten- cats”, adolescents, hormones, and all that goes with that stage. I shall watch the progress of all four with interest.

1ST. BOB. MERIT. MITCHELL’S FILENSIO VIENNA. 60 20a. F. 091110.

An alert young girl at the adolescent stage. Head fairly broad with rounded contours muzzle and cheeks not fully developed and chin a little shallow, good bite, nose break at the nasal bridge, straight at the tip. Ears held a little on top of head at present, eyes good shape and expression. Overall good body shape and condition, medium boned legs, balanced tail which is well furnished. Coat very well presented, at the moment still carrying her kitten coat, soft texture but not dense and plush. Excellent temperament. Showing promise however needs time to reach full maturity.

2ND. MERIT. HILLMAN’S VALLEYCAT FLASH-OPEL. 60 28. F. 281010.

A youngster needing time to fully develop. Top of head quite broad, cheeks and muzzle not fully rounded and chin a little shallow, nose break at the nasal bridge and straight at the tip. Ears nicely set and medium in size, large eyes of good shape and expression. Body quite well developed for age, well boned legs and large paws, balanced tail. Coat very well presented, soft texture, not yet at its full potential. Very sweet natured girl, all be it quite a “wriggler”!

3RD. MERIT W/H. MITCHELL’S FILENSIO VIENNA. 60 20g. F. 281010.

Litter sister to my first girl. Showing reasonable maturity, overall head shape a little narrow, cheeks and muzzle yet to fully develop, nose showing break at nasal bridge, chin very slightly shallow. Medium sized ears, still set a little high on head, I am sure they will come into better placement once the head reaches full maturity, expressive eyes of good shape. Coat very well presented, soft texture and quite dense. I was really sorry to w/h on this girl, she was so cross and not at all happy about the proceedings.

AC RAGAMUFFIN KITTEN ASSESSMENT

1ST.BOB. MERIT. SHALLOWS CHEHAM TARAN 60 31t. M 200111.

A stunning kitten. Broad head with rounded contours, forehead moderately rounded, muzzle and cheeks rounded. Chin slightly tapered, nose break at the nasal bridge, straight to the tip, short strong neck. Ears medium in size and set on the side of the head, large eyes of very good shape and expression. Excellent conformation and condition, strong bone, large paws and balanced tail with good furnishings. Coat very good texture and presentation, good density. A lovely temperament and a pleasure to judge.

HOUSEHOLD PET SECTION.

ADULT OR KITTEN LIVING WITH A DOG.

1ST. KITSON’S GMC SMARTIE. SHORT HAIR TORTIE & WHITE FN 6YRS.4MNTHS.

Indeed a very smart kitten, lovely bright colouring and very well presented. I would imagine her canine friend is well and truly kept in it place by this young lady!

2ND. SUMERLEY’S MC ITZY BITZY. SEMI-LONGHAIR SEAL TORTIE BICOLOUR. F. 1YR. 11MNTHS.

A beautifully presented girl in lovely condition and very sweet nature.

3RD. VOYSEY’S KT KAT SHORT HAIR TABBY F. 5MNTHS.

A well grown kitten with lovely tabby pattern, enjoying her day out.

4TH. HOWES SNOWHITE. SEMI LONGHAIR. WHITE FN. 2 YRS.

Indeed a very “snowhite” girl, lovely presentation. I wonder if this one curls up with her “canine” friend?????
