TABBY CAT CLUB SHOW 1ST OCTOBER 2011
JUDGE REPORT: MRS JEAN HUYTON
HOUSEHOLD/PEDIGREE PET SECTION
Thanks to Barbara Pointing for being a most able steward and companion for the day, I thoroughly enjoyed your company Barbara. Thank you also to Barbara Prowse and the committee for the invitation to judge, it is good to see how far the TCC has come since our First Exemption Show. We had some lovely exhibits to handle and there were a few difficult placing decisions.
I was disappointed that one of my very favourite cats was not able to be present as he would have been my very first cat of the day. I have tremendous affection for Toby Thetabby but with his advancing years Sue felt he was way under par on the day and he therefore stayed at home.
OLYMPIAN AV HOUSEHOLD PET/PEDIGREE PET Female
Just two contenders
1st & OLYMPIAN Certificate SWINGLER’S IGMC VELVET
I have met this young SH Brown Ticked Tortie Tabby lady before and to say I was “mugged” with affection would be an understatement. She came out of her pen brimming over with her desire to be affectionate. The difficulty is that she never wants to go back into her pen. She never stands still enough to be examined but her coat just glistens, her weight is good and her OTT personality will always put her at the top of the class.
2nd & RES OLYMPIAN Certificate RILEY’S IGMC BLUE SKIES
There was a slight mix up at the beginning with the pen number in my judging book and the wrong cat got judged (same owner) but we did get it right in the end. A very placid blue-eyed SH Blue Tortie Point Colourpoint who is well built but is not out of proportion. Well groomed and contented in her pen but against Velvet the young lady didn’t get a look in, such a shame.
AC PEDIGREE GRAND MASTER CAT (IMPERIAL) - Male
1st & IGMC SZWED’S GMC FLUFF
Just the one in the class but this large well-boned brown tabby SLH boy was very laid back and excellently groomed (would I have expected any less from a Szwed family cat??) He didn’t rush out of his pen to greet us, I probably would have been concerned had he done so, but just took it in his stride that we were there to appreciate how handsome he was, he sat on the trolley to be judged then he went back in his pen and posed – job done.
AC PEDIGREE GRAND MASTER CAT (IMPERIAL) – Female
Two lovely young ladies in this class
1st & IGMC DAVIS’S GMC POPPY
A large well proportioned Black SH cat with stunning big orange eyes. She chatted away when the pen door was opened and was so very easy to handle. She was losing a little coat but it was all down to the hot conditions, she was very well groomed and I don’t think people realize quite how difficult it is to present a black cat so immaculately. She was later only just pipped at the post for BIS.
2nd & R IGMC LEWIS’S GMC CHARLOTTE
Another nicely presented orange-eyed lady clad in a long Tortie Tabby & white coat with almost a split of patched colour on the top and white underneath. Very nice bright colours in the coat and excellent grooming. A very sweet temperament. A shame to meet Poppy on the day because Charlotte was well worthy of an Imperial Certificate, perhaps I will see her again somewhere??
AC NON-PEDIGREE SH KITTEN
1ST & BIC EMERY’S BASIL
Down in my book as a Blue Tabby and White kitten but was in fact a SH silver tabby and white. A very attractive, purring baby with a silver tabby coat and white paws. He seemed to be enjoying his day out and enjoying a lot of attention as we passed his pen later in the day.
AC SELF (WITH OR WITHOUT WHITE) SH PEDIGREE ADULT
BIC DAVIS’S GMC POPPY
GINGER OR AC TORTIE (WITH OR WITHOUT WHITE) SH PEDIGREE ADULT
Two cats for BIC only
BIC SWINGLER’S IGMC VELVET
Also considered:
WITHEY’S MC ROCKEE
A massive SH red spotted cat with a lovely deep red coat and big golden yellow eyes. Sadly his temperament let him down badly as he grumbled to us until he went back into the pen. Such a shame as he’s such a lovely specimen.
AC LH OR SLH PEDIGREE KITTEN
Four kittens but just three prizes, it is always so difficult judging the babies when they are all so gorgeous.
1st & BIC GIBSON’S SPUDLEY
This was my take-home cat of the day, he would have fitted nicely in my pocket, so it wasn’t difficult to award him Overall BIS later in the day. This adorable amber eyed SLH Blue Ticked Tabby baby just had the wow factor, he sat in a very nicely presented pen looking absolutely picture postcard perfect. Sadly for his breeder he wasn’t perfect as his tail was kinky but who cares about a kinky tail in the Pet Section!!
2nd AMARILLI’S TROUBLE
A sweet baby kit with a silver shaded coat and green eyes (his paw pads were blue??) A real chocolate box kitten, excellently groomed and presented and another lovely nature. I’ve no doubt he lives up to his name at home but he was absolutely no trouble at all.
3rd FURNELL’S OTHELLO
A larger seal smoke kitten with orange eyes and absolutely massive paws. He was so inquisitive and very relaxed. His grooming and presentation were A1, this is where it is difficult to judge kittens of differing ages, he was well worthy, as was Trouble, of a 1st.
I can’t miss out mentioning BRADSHAW’S TEDDY BO-BO, I so wanted to award an extra third but as there were a limited number of special badges it was not possible. He was a very weeny, sleepy baby with a split of coat colour of primarily black on the top and white underneath. A splendid kit who didn’t deserve to be left without an award in this class.
MISCELLANEOUS CLASSES
AC SH ADULT OR KITTEN
1st DAVIS’S GMC POPPY
2nd RILEY’S RUBY TUESDAY
This was the young lady who accidentally got judged in the Imperial class. A massive cream colourpointed lady with lovely blue eyes, very well groomed and presented but a little nervous and apprehensive, although not difficult to handle.
3rd GOULANDRI’S FATSA
A brown tabby female just five months old with orange eyes and a deep rich brown coat but with a little too much attitude for one so young.
AC DEBUTANTE ADULT OR KITTEN
1st GIBSON’S SPUDLEY
2nd RILEY’S RUBY TUESDAY
BEST GROOMEDADULT OR KITTEN
1st LOWELL’S DANTE
Whilst this black rex coated cat may not have been difficult to assess for “grooming”, it was the absolute “oozing” of health that the coat portrayed that put him first – his temperament was also excellent so he was a delight to judge.
2nd DAVIS’S SILVER BUTTONS
A young silver tabby lady again with impeccable grooming so it was, if you will excuse the expression, “nit picking” between the exhibits.
3rd RILEY’S IGMC BLUE SKIES
TABBY CAT CLUB - CLUB CLASS
AC TABBY OR TABBY& WHITE SH KITTEN

October 8th 2011
Show report from Sharara Crichton
My thanks to Jennifer, Ian Fleming and Simon Twigge for the invitation to this friendly show in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside. Although few in number at shows these days, the Persians and exotics exhibited were lovely examples of the breed and it was my pleasure to be able to handle and enjoy them. My thanks to Sandra Holmes who kindly agreed to steward for me and who did an excellent job.
OPEN CLASSES
Chinchilla adult
BOB Smith’s CH CEDARSWAMP SPENCER DAVIS
A great start to the day’s judging with this magnificent boy who is a wonderful example of the breed and who is over six years of age. Body shape could not be more cobby and he is a big boy with excellent physique set on short tree trunk legs with lovely fat rounded paws with fluffy long tufts. Beautiful persian head which was very broad and had small well spaced ears. Large eyes, fully round and bold with very good azure eye colour, edged with black liner and a delightful soft expression. Short broad nose with a full deep pink nose leather edged with black. Well rounded cheeks, broad muzzle with fat whisker pads and a strong chin with a slightly undershot bite. The coat was very lightly tipped with black and he had a pure white chin, bib and underside. The coat was thick and dense, long and very soft with a lovely long frill and ended with a very short fluffy tail. A real showman when handled who was very relaxed and happy and who had excellent show preparation.
AC Tabby, Smoke or Cameo and White Adult
1 CC and BOB Millican’s CULLYKHAN STRIPES AWAY
A very lovely tabby and white boy only aged eleven months but who already had excellent body size and build, very solid well muscled body with strong short legs and fat rounded paws that supported his very cobby shape. Excellent persian type with an extremely broad top of head with small ears, spaced far apart. Very short snub nose with a decent nose break and a pink nose leather with good size nasal openings. Fat muzzle and a strong deep balanced chin with a good level bite. Huge round eyes with very muddy eye colour that still has to develop fully but which are already very promising and look as though they will be a deep copper shade later. The eyes had distinct tabby spectacles and a lovely bold wideawake expression. He had an inverted white chevron over the nose and muzzle and a fabulous full frill of pure white around the shoulders. Tabby patches were large and sited evenly down his back while the underside and legs were pure sparkling white. The top of head and upper face had warm tabby colouring and he had a full coloured tail which was short, very bushy and ringed. A very laid back boy with a sweet nature who was my nomination for best in show and who went on to win best in Show Persian.
Congratulations!
AC Bi Colour Kitten
1 and BOB Howard’s PURRDREAMZ POMPOM
A very pretty black and white baby of four months of age who was well grown with a firm body that was cobby and had short legs with well rounded paws. Good head shape that was wide and had well placed ears of small size. Large eyes with well rounded shape had very muddy eye colour, not yet fixed but very promising and showing just a little staining underneath which detracted a little from her appearance and due no doubt to the fact that she was still teething which causes eye watering. Cute snub nose which was very short and with small nostrils. Her muzzle was filling out and she had a firm chin and a scissor bite. She had a black head and an attractively marked face with an inverted white ‘V’ below the eyes and over the nose and muzzle and a rounded black spot above her right eye. The body was mainly white with black shaped patches on both her right and left shoulders and all four legs were white with attractive little black spots on each one. A promising little girl with a sweet nature.
AC Tabby, Smoke or Cameo and White Kitten
1 and BOB Simm’s MYZANY NAUGHTY BUTNICE
Lovely to have had the chance to meet a tortie smoke and white on the show bench for the first time. She was four months of age and was very sweet with good type and with a well grown body for her age. She was cobby and had short legs with a broad, smooth top of head. Neat ears well placed and far apart at the contours of the head had lovely long silvery ear feathers. Fully round large eyes with promising muddy colour and soft girly expression. Short snub nose with a decent nose break, nice large nasal openings and a full pink nose leather. The cheeks were filling out well and she had a broad muzzle and a firm chin with a good scissor bite. Pleasing face markings with a white inverted ‘V’ over the muzzle and had one ear showing tortie smoke colours of red, white and black. She had a black chin and her bib and underside were pure white while the rump had bright tortie smoke colouring. The smoke areas had clear contrasting silvery undercoat and her paw pads were pink and black. The coat was long and full, very soft and well presented. A dear little soul.
Silver Tabby Series Maine Coon Kitten, Male
1 McKay’s SNOOZICOONZ NICE ONE NICO
A six month old maine coon boy who was entered as a blue silver classic tabby and white in my judges book but whose coat was hard to correctly identify as it was a kitten coat, still not yet fixed, but who was given the benefit of doubt on the day and will need to be assessed later once the coat colour is settled. He was fairly well grown for his age and was of medium size at present. Body shape was long and rectangular, solid and with well muscled legs. Medium length head with tall pointed ears that had short tufts and were open at the base. Shallow curve to a medium length nose that was of uniform width and had a cute white spot at its tip and a pink nose leather. Large round eyes, set slightly oblique with yellow eye colour showing a green rim and circled with pale spectacles. The muzzle was fairly square and had tabby spots. The cheeks needed to fill out and widen further as he matures and he had a firm chin and a good level bite. The coat was of medium length with a frontal ruff starting to develop well over the shoulders and was shaggy over the trunk and breeches and had a glossy topcoat. The tail was of good length, flowing and profuse, tapering gently towards the tip and had tabby rings. The coat was very dark and black rather than blue over his back region and lacking in tabby lines at present but was a blue shade over the shoulders and over the top of head which had clear tabby facial markings. However, the face, chin and front of neck were a beige biscuit shade which made his coat colour appear more like cool brown tabby in tone and which was not tarnishing. All four paws were white, with blue black pads and with short white tufts. A gentle good natured boy who handled with ease and was very relaxed when examined and who was well presented.
Silver Tabby Series Maine Coon Kitten, Female
1 and BOB Young’s SUVICOON AURIANNA BLAZE
An older and larger eight month old kitten who was a classic silver tabby and white. Excellent physique being solid and heavy with a long rectangular frame and a well developed square rump set on well boned muscular legs. Good head type of medium size with the nasal bridge midway between the earline and nose tip. Excellent ear set placed wide apart, sitting tall and proud on top with good tufts and full ear feathering over a wide ear base. Spectacled large, round eyes, had yellow green colour and were sitting slightly oblique with a lovely expression. The nose had a shallow curve and was of uniform width with a pink nose leather edged with black. An inverted white ‘V’ covered the nose and the muzzle which was fairly square. The chin was firm and she had a good level bite. Tabby markings on the head and face were strong, clearcut black over a silvery ground and were well formed on the body and legs. All four feet had white socks and she had a patch of white on her underside. The coat had a very shiny topcoat which lengthened down her body and over the rump and had well defined spine lines of black over her back. The tail was very long, reaching well to the shoulders and had long flowing fur, with tabby rings and tapered towards the tip. A well behaved girl when handled who was in good condition and well presented.
Miscellaneous Classes
AC Persian Breeders Adult
1 Miillican’s CULLYKHAN STRIPES AWAY
2 Ellis’s CH SOROLYA BLUE MOON
A blue pointed colourpoint girl of one year of age with good Persian type and a lovely full coat that was very clear, long and had a soft texture. She had a broad top of head with neat well placed ears. Large round eyes, bold and full with good blue eye colour. Broad short nose with a strong stop, a full blue nose leather and good size nostrils. A strong deep chin, fat cheeks with a broad muzzle and a scissor bite. The mask covered the face well and all the blue points were matching and of a pleasing pale blue shade. Body shape was very cobby with a broad rounded rump, short neck and broad chest set low on short thick legs. The tail was short and fluffy and in proportion to the body length. A girl with a lovely temperament who was very cuddly and sweet and was almost smuggled and abducted away by my steward!
3 Piasecki’s PURRSRUS MINNEHAHA
This ten month old girl has lovely type and is well coloured for a tortie with a name I think that suits her very well! Broad head with a slight bump at present and which carried tiny ears that were set well apart. Lovely round eyes with good copper colour and the sweetest tortie expression. Full rounded cheeks, broad muzzle and a very strong chin with a not quite level bite. Very short nose with a small nose leather and tiny nostrils that I wished would be larger for her own health’s sake. I hope that, if she is used for breeding, that a suitable male is chosen for her who has full size nostrils so that the offspring produced are not the same as herself. Body shape was short and cobby with a well rounded rump, short legs and rounded paws. The coat was full and soft with a good frill and a short fluffy tail that had a slight curve at its extreme tip but was not out of alignment. Coat colours were a rich red and black and she had three well broken paws. A little sweetie when handled.
AC Persian Junior Adult Female
1 Ellis’s CH SOROLYA BLUE MOON
AV SLH Junior Female
1 Hamilton’s TRELGANDORF KAOTIC KATY
A delectable tortie and white bicolour maine coon girl of eleven months of age who was very attractively marked and who had lots of presence sitting regally in her pen. She had great body length with a rectangular shape, good width of chest, fairly long neck and a square ending rump. Legs were strong and well muscled and she had large rounded white paws with short tufts. Excellent head type of medium size with a well marked face that was attractively split half red and half black down her nose. A shallow curve at the nasal bridge that was halfway between the ear line and nose tip and the nose was of uniform width with a pink nose leather. Tall ears with pointed tips and excellent long black tufts were well placed on the head and open at the base. Well developed square muzzle, high cheek bones, with a firm chin and a level bite. Round eyes of large size were set slightly oblique and had yellowish green colour and a lovely expression. She had a short ruff which was developing and a coat that gradually lengthened down the body with a glossy topcoat . It was brightly coloured with tortie shades of black and red while her bib was white with a little white patch on her underside and white tufted paws. A long flowing tail reached almost to the shoulders and tapered gently towards the tip. A promising girl who had a lovely temperament. I really liked her.
2 Kincart’s CH TUMBLERAG TWIRL
A most attractive blue colourpointed ragdoll who was beautifully coloured with perfectly matching points of greyish blue and a lovely clear body of bluish white. The head had good width and a flattish plane between medium size ears that were placed well apart. Nose had a gentle dip in profile and was of medium length with a slightly retrousee tip. Large eyes, fully open and set slightly oblique which had lovely deep blue colour and beautiful expression that totally won me over. Well developed cheeks, a broad muzzle, a firm chin and a level bite . The body was well grown and substantial with well boned legs of medium height and clothed in a silky coat that was dense and fairly long with a short ruff and lengthening down her legs. A long bushy tail tapered slightly at the tip and was in proportion to the body length. A perfectly groomed girl with a lovely temperament.
3 Lister’s MEADOWMAINS HENRIETTA
A classic silver tabby maine coon girl with good type and who was a pleasing silver shade with very good black tabby markings on the head, face and tail but which was a little indistinct over the back. She had good type with a medium length head carrying very tall pointed ears, well placed on top, sitting proud and with very good ear tufts. Oblique set eyes were round and large with yellowish eye colour, showing a green rim and circled with pale spectacles. The nose was of uniform width and had a slight curve in profile with a pink nose leather edged with black. An excellent square muzzle with tabby spots, high cheek bones, a firm chin and a good level bite. The body was the correct shape for a maine coon being long and rectangular, fairly long neck, good chest width and a square ending rump. Sturdy legs set high with large round paws that had very long tufts. The face had some tarnishing and there was a small tarnished spot on her back. The legs were well barred and she had a frontal ruff starting to develop. Glossy topcoat covered her body and the coat was shorter over the head and lengthened down the body and was shaggy over the tummy, flanks and breeches. A full long tail, reaching the shoulders, had flowing fur and a tapering tip. A gentle cat with an excellent friendly nature.
AV Persian or SLH Visitors Adult
1 Pool’s CH DALTEEMA SARMOYAH TOPAZ
A three year old cream birman girl who was a delight to handle who has very good type and with a lovely temperament. Good head shape of medium length with well set ears. Correct profile with a slight dip and a pink nose leather. Lovely width to the face with high cheekbones, firm chin and a good level bite. The eyes were almost round in shape and had fabulous deep blue colour and a lovely birman expression which won me over. Well shaped body, firm and solid, well muscled with good boning on the legs. The coat was very soft and silky showing a slight golden saddle and with a well formed ruff framing the face. A medium fully furnished tail was in proportion to the body length. The points were evenly coloured and she had matching white gloves, clean white socks and perfectly matching gauntlets. A sweet natured girl who was a quite a wriggler when being handled and a poppet who was perfectly presented.
2 Hack’s CH SUPATOFT SONYA
This Usual somali girl was a year and a half old and had good type and build with a lovely rich coat colour. Well formed broad head that curved into a wedge shape on an elegant neck. Gently rounded cheeks with a good profile that had a slight nose break, tile red nose leather and a fully spotted muzzle. Large pointed ears with tufts, set well apart, with pale ear furnishings. Large almond shaped eyes had amber eye colour, with a dark surround, ringed with pale spectacles and were set obliquely and well apart. Body of medium size that was muscular and firm, with long legs and oval shaped paws that were tufted and were solid brown underneath. Soft coat lying flat along the spine, of a rich golden brown shade, with an apricot ground with good black ticking. Well furnished tail which was a rich apricot colour on the underside and showing a black line running long its top surface. A very grumpy girl who had a lot of rude language for us!
3 McKays CARRAMAZZA MURRLINSMAGIC
A blue maine coon boy who was just over a year and a half. Head of medium length with correct profile having a shallow curve at the nasal bridge which was mid way between the ear line and nose tip but the nose was not quite uniform in width and had a full blue nose leather. Fairly tall ears with pointed tips had short blue tufts and were well open at the base. The eyes were large, rounded with yellowish eye colour and were set slightly oblique. Muzzle was needing to firm up a bit more and the cheeks needing to fill out further as he matures. The chin was firm and he had a good level bite. Body shape was correct for a maine coon being long, lean and rectangular with a broad chest, well shaped square rump and a fairly long neck. The legs were well boned with large rounded paws with short tufts. A long tail was in proportion to the body length and was wide at the base and flowing. The coat was a mid blue shade, shorter over the head and was longer over the back, flanks and breeches, with a ruff developing and with a shiny top coat. A cat with a very friendly gentle nature who was happy to be handled and who was well presented.
AC Persian Self-Coloured Kitten
1 White’s PURRDREAMZ ZIGGY STARDUST
A five month old odd-eyed white male kitten who was well grown and very cobby having a body with a rounded rump set low on short little legs. Very wide top of head with small ears set far apart which had long ear feathers. Well rounded eye shape with one good blue eye colour and the other being a deep muddy shade which look as though it will be very good later and alert expression. Very short snub nose with a deep nose break and a small pink nose leather with small nostrils. The cheeks were filling out very well and he had a firm well formed chin and a scissor bite. The coat was a clean white and he had a dinky little fluffy tail. Just a little staining under the eyes detracted a little from his looks but due no doubt to the fact that he is in the middle of teething. Promising baby who was very relaxed and happy to be fussed over.
2 Mackereth’s PIPPAKITS MOONLIGHT SONATA
A younger three month old orange eyed white exotic kitten who was so very sweet to handle. She had an excellent top of head with well placed ears that were sited far apart and which she needed to grow into. Large round eyes had very good muddy colour that is promising and with a delightful expression. The cheeks were filling out and she had a firm chin but sadly her lower jaw was slightly twisted at present causing one lower canine to be sited to the outside of the upper canine tooth although her bite was nice and wide. Too early to say how the dentition will turn out later but it needs to be watched carefully when she gets her adult teeth. The coat was clean and white but being still a baby coat was lying flat at present and not yet plush and she had a short thick tail. A little poppet when handled.
AC Persian Non-Self Coloured Kitten
1 Wall’s SHEERBLISS MR D’ARCY
Chunky, solid blue and white bicolour exotic kitten of five months who was a very good size for his age, heavy with good boning and well muscled legs with fat rounded paws. Strong smooth shaped head with small ears sited far apart but just a little open at present. Short broad nose with a strong stop, a full blue nose leather and well opened nostrils. Fully rounded cheeks and a strong white chin with a level bite. Huge round eyes, very bold and expressive had excellent muddy and promising eye colour. The head and face was mainly a mid blue shade and was sound on head and body with only white on his right upper lip and the chin. His bib and underside were white and he had four white paws. The tail was thick, short and fully blue. His coat was thick, dense and very plush, standing out well from the body. Promising boy who handled very well and who had a playful nature.

1 Hassett and Murrie’s TRENDI PUSS INDULGENCE
A three month old seal pointed bicolour ragdoll boy who was very attractively marked. Body was firm and sturdy of a good weight and size for his age and supported on strong legs with tufted round paws. Broad head with a flat plane with well spaced medium size ears of dark seal brown that were well furnished. Cheeks filling out well with a developing muzzle and a firm chin with a level bite. The medium length nose had a slight curve and a slightly retrousee tip with a pink nose leather. Large eyes, set slightly oblique, had deep blue colour in the centre but paled towards the edges. The face had an almost symmetrical inverted ‘V’ over the nose and muzzle and he had a white bib and underside. All four legs were white with the hind ones having high level socks. The tail was in proportion to the body length and was a seal brown that matched the ears very well. Body colour over the back and sides was a very clear beige shade and coat texture was silky, dense and was of medium length with a ruff and knickerbockers still to develop. A friendly kitten with plenty of energy who handled easily and was well shown.

Not much more I can say about this huge heayy weight cream and white boy as I have met him so many times before. He is still looking great at almost seven years of age and has the most easy going temperament and is an experienced seasoned exhibit. Always immaculately presented and is a credit to his owner exhibitor.

1 Allison’s PR LUNARAINE FREYA
A white Norwegian forest cat who is nearing two years of age who had good type and a wonderful gentle temperament. She was large and heavy boned and very elegant with a strong body that was long and muscular and sitting high on the hind legs. She had large round paws with short white tufts. Triangular shaped head with an excellent long straight profile and a slightly rounded forehead. The chin was firm and she had a level bite. High set ears of large size, well opened, and had short tufts. Oval shaped eyes with greenish colour, set slightly oblique and with a lovely alert expression that charmed me. Lovely full white coat that was semi long with glossy top coat over a woolly undercoat and with a shirt front, a ruff and knickerbockers. A long tail reaching the shoulders was well furnished. A sweet natured exhibit who was well shown.

1 Burgess’s GR PR COONARIA SEQUOIA
I met this lovely classic tortie tabby maine coon girl at a recent show and was very happy to be able to handle her again. She is nearly two and a half years old and has a wonderful physique and lovely head type. Body was long, lean and rectangular being well muscled with good width of chest, an elegant fairly long neck and a square shaped rump. Strong legs with good boning had large rounded paws with short tufts. Excellent shaped head of medium size with large size, tall ears sitting proud on the top of the skull and had thick black tufts and pale feathering over open ear bases. Beautiful round eyes of very large size and greenish eye colour were set slightly oblique, with pale spectacles and had a delightful expression. High cheeks bones and rounded cheeks gave the face good width and she had a well formed square muzzle showing tabby spots. The chin was firm and she had a good level bite. A long coat covered her frame and was short over the head, with a full ruff framing the shoulders, and lengthening over the body where the back, flanks and underside were shaggy. She had clear tortie tabby colouring on her head and face with black markings on a warm copper ground overlaid with shades of red but the tabby pattern was a bit diffuse over the body. The tail was long and flowing, reaching to the shoulders, tapering towards the tip, ringed along its length and the legs had good barring. The most regal of exhibits who was perfectly presented and who had a wonderful gentle temperament.

1 Mlynek and Hayward’s UK IGR CH and IGR PR MLYWARD SASSAFRAS
A magnificent cream pointed birman girl who always grabs my attention and amazingly is over twelve years of age and is still in fantastic show condition. A very beautiful cat with lovely type who has a perfect top of head of medium size with well shaped ears set far apart. Large eyes, almost round in shape, had deep blue colour and were most expressive. Good cheek width with high cheek bones and a medium length nose which had a slight dip in profile. The muzzle had good width, the chin was firm and she had a perfect level bite. A full ruff framed her face and she had a fabulous long soft silky coat covering her frame which was strong, well grown with sturdy well muscled legs and rounded short paws. The coat was very clear and off white with the points well matching and showing an even shade of cream with a full mask covering the face. The foot markings were good with clean white socks that matched perfectly. The gloves were symmetrical and matching and she had two well placed gauntlets which had the left one just a tiny bit shorter than the right. A fully furnished tail was in proportion to the body length of medium length and the whole cat was groomed to perfection.

2 Penman’s DIZZIPAWS CAVALI
Another very handsome seal pointed ragdoll from the same household and who has the same birth date as the class winner. He was very large and weighty with a solid frame supported on strong legs with large round paws. He also had a lovely full coat that was very thick and dense with a lovely full ruff and was beige with some shadiness over his back. The points were a dark seal brown and the mask, ears and tail were well matching with the legs just slightly paler. Head type was good having a flat plane and well set ears of medium size.
