1. What is Your Name? John Robinson 2. Which position are you standing for? (Chairman/Vice Chairman/Director/Secretary)
Director/Executive No 4. What do you think you have brought to the GCCF whilst sitting on Executive? N/A
5. Do you sit on any other GCCF Committees and if so, which? 6. Do you have a ‘day job’ and if so what is it? Freelance Qualified Nurse + Sales & Marketing - Publishing 7. What skills do you have that you think will benefit the growth of the GCCF? I have a very wide range of business experience in Sales, Middle Management & the ‘Blunt End’. From PA in F1 Grand Prix to a rock driller with explosives. From Downing Street dining to Newcastle Quayside (Customs). From selling anything - Industrial Equipment to Pickled Onions. From involvement in the running of several businesses to 40 years of bedside Nursing. The skills I have acquired have taught me that nothing in business is difficult if all the constituent parts of any task are identified and quantified. It’s just like building a house, start with the foundations and erect it brick by brick. Do that and the faulty parts stand out like a sore thumb. 8. What about your character makes you a good candidate for the role of Director? Sense of Humour. Never swayed by conjecture or supposition – Facts not sound bites 9. If you are elected, what will be the first thing you challenge on your first day? To remove the divide between the Clubs (Council) and Executive. It is vital that both parties work together. Council must accept that its position of having final Authority over all matters concerning the GCCF comes with an onerous Responsibility for any actions it takes whether by commission or omission. Executive/Board of Directors must accept that they hold their remit only on behalf of Council and thus this is a remit of Responsibility not Authority. They must make every effort to keep Council fully informed and involved in ALL their activities (without exception) If both sides go the extra mile we will cease to have 2 sides. Then the ‘Vote of Thanks’ due for any success should be able to be freely given to both Council and The Board and unfortunately then any blame for mistakes or failures would be shared equally by both parties. 10. What is your vision for the future of the GCCF? Solvency – Growth A user friendly, equitable. organisation Ed Note: Thank you to John for filling out the questionnaire.
