Statement from Nick Mays, Editor of Our Cats Newspaper & Website
OUR CATS regrets to inform its readers of another unforseen delay to the
26th December issue of OUR CATS.
As you know, the 12th December issue was delayed due to the printers'
computer error, causing the paper to miss its scheduled distribution slot,
which resulted in it being sent out late. This seems to have had a
"knock-on" effect with the 26th December issue which also missed its regular
distribution slot. This, coupled with the Christmas post (and a long
Christmas shutdown period for many businesses)
led to a further delay.
I have spoken to the Distributors as of Monday, January 5th upon their
return to work and have been assured that the papers are now "in the system"
and will hopefully be received by subscribers this week.
Copies of OUR CATS booked through newsagents have not been unduly affected,
as these are distributed via the newspaper wholesalers.
Obviously, the situation was beyond OUR CATS' control but rest assured, *
very* strong words have been had with the distributors!
Sincere apologies to you all for any inconvenience caused by this delay.
However, just to remind readers, both the 12th and 26th December issues are
currently available as digital editions online at the OC website (
www.ourcats.co.uk) free of
charge (you do not have to be an online subscriber to read them). They may
be accessed through the 'News' section of the website.

realistically, there little else we can tell you that hasn't been said here.
The situation is clearly unacceptable and we will be taking all necessary
steps to make sure that our readers are not let down in this way in future.
On a personal note, please do realise that neither the OUR CATS
administration staff nor myself, as Editor, had any control over this
situation and were only fully appraised of what had happened at the
beginning of this week. It seems to be a case of "If it's Going To Go Wrong,
Everything Will Go Wrong At Once"!
