Thanks to Marie Rose and team for giving me the chance to spend the day in my favourite way, wallowing in cats. Thanks also to my friendly and supportive debutante steward Liz Coward for making the day go that much more smoothly. Delicious grub to top it all off.

AC NON-PED GRAND MASTER (IMPERIAL CLASS) 767a - Male

IGMC - Creaton & Walker's GMC LITTLEMAN RAFFLES.

White SLH, an unbelievable 12 years old, beautifully prepared and beautifully behaved, a prince among cats, giving us his famous royal wave with his famous tail. Truly imperial.

 767b - Female

IGMC - Creaton & Walker's IGMC RAINBOW DREAMCATCHER,

Glowing and artistically-coloured calico girl of five years who kept us guessing for about half-a-minute before she relaxed into her starring role and won herself another IMP. {Oh well, that's a tortie's prerogative.} Picture of good health and faultlessly prepared.

Class 774 - NP SH SELF CAT w/wo WHITE

1. Edward's POLLY.

A very pretty black-and-white girl of a year-and-a-half, in lovely condition, who struggled to get back into her pen as though her life depended on it. Full marks for her restraint in not making any hostile sounds or gestures, considering her state. She just got on with the job of getting home. I felt she deserved a First, but regretfully, not the certificate.

BOC - Dale's MC RUBY ROSE.

Two-years-old, solidly-built and solidly-coloured black girl with a positive manner, as though it was her idea to be judged. Impressive, well-shaped head, carried proudly on a strong, firm body. Well-deserved award.

Class 778 - AC NP SH KITTEN

 1/BOC - Jackson's GIZMO.

Ginger & White. Eight months old and already a little man. Knew what he was there for and behaved accordingly. Tasty colour, nicely distributed, with dreamy amber eyes to match, and a firm little body. Good boy.

Class 786 - PED SH SELF w/wo WHITE

1/MC - Anderson's PHAROAH.

Cinammon boy, 4 yrs old, a sound character with a wise and ancient look, well-named. One or two claws clutched the pen coming out, but once out he was the perfect gentlemen. Excellent preparation. Loved the colour.

BOC - Cowlayshaw's GMC SMOKEY JOE.

Blue LH, one year 8 months. This cat could easily take to the catwalk like a pro. He was only too pleased to pose on the trolley without the slightest movement, turning his head occasionally this way and that to make sure his best side showed. His grooming was absolutely impeccable and his coat incredibly silky to the touch. I opened his pen later in the day, when nominations were in progress, and he was halfway out before I could stop him, ready to show off again. Keep it up, son.

Class 792 - AC SH ADULT OR KITTEN

1. Jackson's GIZMO.

See Class 778

2. Riches' PERIDOTNIGHTRIDER.

11-months-old tabby and white boy, totally laid back and ready to please, with a highly original "contemporary" design to his tabby patches. Maybe just a wee bit overweight, but well-prepared; and although he was good-as-gold, if he wants to get to First he could try "performing" a bit, showing himself off, participating instead of just submitting.

3. Rainbow-Ockwell's ROSIE.

Very pretty Blue Tortie & White girl, three years old, nicely shaped, handled reasonably well, although a bit squirmy. Lovely colours and colour-distribution. Loose hairs were a bit of a drawback. I think she could do better if this could be remedied.

Class 795 - BEST GROOMED ADULT OR KITTEN

What a headache! Every one of them outstanding!

1. Jackson's MC SIMBA.

SLH Ginger. Unbelievably soft, every hair separated. Rolled over on his tummy to prove he was hiding nothing.

2.Cowlayshaw's GMC SMOKEY JOE.

Blue LH. See Class 786

3. Wareing's MC TASHA.

SLH Black Spotted Silver Tabby. Every hair in place on this smoother type of Semi-LH, longer-lying hair on the body with fluffy extremities.

REMAINING ENTRIES: Faultless, but choices had to be made! Sorry!

Class 798 - HANDSOMEST MALE

 1. Anderson's PHAROAH.

 Cinnamon SH. See Class 786

2. Bullivant's STORM.

É Semi-LH Usual Silver. Slightly pointed face with an eager expression, with graceful lines following, over a smooth back to a fluffy tail Tip-to-end proportion.

3. Jackson's MC SIMBA.

See Class 795. Add to this a loving expression.

TO ALL OTHER ENTRIES - the same agonizing took place as in Best Groomed Class. Each for his own type was outstanding. You were all gorgeous!

Class 801a - AC ADULT OR KITTEN VISITORS, Male

1. Plaw's MC PEPE REINA.

Brown Ticked Tabby, 2 years old. Nice solid character of a rich brown, generously sprinkled with ticking to give him a glistening finish. Excellent condition. Friendly expression and manner, politely asking for a First, and got it.

 2. Agar's FIGARO.

Seal Tabbypoint Bicolour LH Kitten, 6 months. A little nervous at first (possibly first show) then decided he liked being out, once he took the step. Lovely to handle, charming boy and well-prepared. A real softie.

 3. Riches' PERIDOTNIGHTRIDER.

See Class 792

ALSO DESERVING: Wareing's GMC LEO.

Striking SLH Brown Mackerel Tabby. Well-named. Completely friendly and placid, both in and out of the pen, even rolled about a bit, but he obviously enjoys swearing, first at next door's cat (that doesn't count) and then again appropos of nothing at all (gently, however). Perhaps he thought it was becoming to a LEO. Very handsome and beautifully presented, but must watch his language.

Class 801b - AC ADULT OR KITTEN VISITORS, Female

1. Lomax's SOPHIE.

SH Tabby & White, just under 2 years old. She liked being judged, really played up to us, but I don't think she liked the competition. I thought I detected a faint rumbling aimed at her neighbour (maybe her style of purring), but it didn't affect her deportment in the slightest, so we didn't hold it against her. She had good body tone, a soft, well-prepared coat, and a slight suggestion of foreign type to her face, with a sweet expression. A good show cat.

2. Jackson's BIZZIE LIZZIE.

SLH Tortie Tabby Kitten, 5 months old, the colour of marbled chocolate fudge and just as sweet. I nearly ate her. Very eager to be shown, not just cute and kittenish. She really knew how to sell herself. A bundle of softness and sweetness, she should have a bright show future ahead, all being well.

 3. Wareing's MC TASHA.

Beautifully-proportioned SLH Black Spotted Silver Tabby just over two years old, outstanding grooming and a friendly disposition. See also Class 795 Edwards' POLLY. See Class 774. Rainbow-Ockwell's ROSIE. See Class792

Class 803 - ROYAL CANIN NON-PEDIGREE STAKES

1. Weaver-Prescott's PICKLE.

A good old-fashioned SH Tabby & White fireside cat with an honest face. Just turned adult at ten months, he was well-developed, with a nice colour pattern, well-prepared and well-behaved.

2. Riches' PERIDOTNIGHTRIDER.

See Class 792.

Class 806 - GWYNEDD CC - AC NP CAT OR KITTEN

1. Jackson's MC SIMBA. See Classes 795 & 798
2. Creaton & Walker's GMC LITTLEMAN RAFFLES.

  See Class767A

 3. Roberts' GWENNO.

Very pretty Blue Tortie & White LH, well- presented and impeccably behaved. Easily of First Prize calibre, she was just unlucky to meet two such strong competitors all at once.
