My thanks to Sylvia Rose and her committee for the invitation; it is the first time I have been to this show I had a lovely day with some super cats. It also the first time I have been able to get Cheryl Edwards stewarded for me, for me she handle the cats with easy, has a great sense of humour so is superb company, her only fault is she does like to stop you cuddling the kittens for too long. I hope we can get together again very soon.

IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION MALE

1. I.G.C.C.EDNEY’S GR CH ROCADANNE MR BEAN (30d) M 15/10/07

Red spotted. What a lovely boy, the head butting and purr alone would get him anything he wants in my book. Well rounded head with wide top, good set to medium sized ears with rounded tips, gorgeous round deep orange eyes, short straight nose, full cheeks and rounded muzzle, level bite and good chin. Compact well filled body with deep chest, short level back, sturdy well boned limbs with neat oval paws. Short dense coat a rich red with clear markings on a lighter red ground, M to face, the spine line is beginning to separate the side spots are much clearer, balanced length fully ringed tail.

IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE

1. I.G.C.C. W/H MARSLAND-ROUND’S GR CH CASTBALU CANDY-CRISP (21b) F 7/04/06

Chocolate Tortoiseshell. Such a sweet girl with a nature to die for, I have seen her before when she looked lovely, either she’s had a litter or been calling so much she has worn herself out as she just looked so tiny today. Round head with smooth top and well set medium sized ears, well spaced round deep orange eyes, short straight nose with very thin cheeks and rather square muzzle at present, level bite (she has broken her right canine), and fair chin. Small framed and very light weight. Her coat lacked undercoat so seemed rather long, also the colour mingling wasn’t clear and she seemed to have a dark spine line, all paws show both colours, balanced length tail. So sorry to withhold, but I know when she is in full coat and weight she will do stunningly.

A.C. SELKIRK REX ADULT MALE

1. C.C. B.O.B. CREATON & WALKER CURLU NATE (79L 15) M 19/04/08

Black Longhair. A young boy with lovely nature and superb preparation. Good broad head with round underlying bone structure, the ears are well set a medium size with broad base and rounded at the to tips. Expressive round well opened eyes a rich orange colour, short nose with downward slant, depth coming to muzzle it has a rectangular shape but could be fuller, he needs to puff his whisker pads out more, level bite his chin could be firmer. Nice weight and size to body with a rectangular shape and sturdy boned limbs. Lovely coat very well prepared thick and dense, curly ruff frames his face and there are curls evident to his sides and tummy but more crimped than curled to his back. Medium length tail with crinkles rather than curls.

2. MARSLAND-ROUND’S CATBALU INDIANA (79S 31D) M 26/06/04

Red and White Bi-Colour Shorthair. This boy had a nature to die for and I could have wasted all day with him it was such a difficult choice. Large round head with broad top and full cheeks set on a short thick neck , wide set to ears with good width to base more small than medium, his eyes are round and well opened and he has a lovely expression, just a little closely set. Short nose that has a real curve when viewed in profile, full round cheeks and also rounded muzzle, level bite and quite firm chin. Huge body with massive boning a square shape, very short coat a little sparsely covered to the top it has good clear curls, medium thick tail with compact curls.

A.C. SELKIRK REX ADULT FEMALE

1. C.C. COLLINS’S CURLU POPER (79L 40 4) F 01/09/08

Lilac Colourpointed Longhair. A sweet girl with lovely nature a little light weight but she is only young so has plenty of time. Small round head with good width between well set ears with broad base and tufted tips, lovely large round eyes with a rich blue colour developing, short nose slanting downward tending towards a fractionally deep curve, she needs to fill her cheeks to balance this up, her muzzle is full but needs to be squarer, level bite and good chin. Rectangular shape to body with good boning to limbs she just needs to pack on some weight, Long coat, thick and dense with lots of random unstructured curls to her back and sides, very full tail.

BRITISH CREAM KITTEN

1. B.O.B. MANN’S SULALCO SARGENT VINES (17) M 28/03/09

What a sweetie with a nature to die for and a super expression. Well rounded head with good width between medium sized ears, lovely expressive round eyes with a super orange colour, short nose with a slight curve balanced well by full cheeks, the muzzle has good width just a fraction square, level bite and good chin. Lovely boning to body he’s going to be a big boy when he grows up, his coat was just superb it was a lovely pale fudge based cream short and dense and just amazingly clear such a rarity in a cream, short thick balanced length tail with rounded tip. I could quite happily have taken him home.

BRITISH BROWN/BLUE/CHOC/LILAC TABBY KITTEN.

1. B.O.B. EDNEY’S ROCADANNE BARLEY (20e) F 09/04/09

Tortoiseshell Tabby. What a darling, I could have easily hidden her in my pocket but her purr would have given it away, she was a small but very confident little girl. Lovely apple shaped head with wide top and neat small well set ears, bold round eyes a muddy brown colour, short straight nose full fat cheeks and rounded muzzle, level bite and good pale coloured chin. A little square box on short sturdy legs with solid body, fat tummy and neat oval paws. Superb coat, short and dense with the most wonderful markings, M to face, butterfly to shoulder, matched oysters to side, barrs to legs and rings to tail , the pattern was clearly overlaid with shades of red and cream, I hope I get to see her again when she is larger.

A.C. SELKIRK REX KITTEN

1. B.O.B. BEARD-SMITH’S MEWSOS JULIE (79L 40 3) F 12/03/09

Chocolate Colourpointed Longhair. What a poppet, small round quite broad head with smooth top between well set slightly small ears with tufts to tips, she was so relaxed it was difficult to get her to open her eyes, she has a good blue colour developing they weren’t completely round and had a slight slant to the sides, short broad nose with slightly deep downward curve, her muzzle lacks width and is rather triangular shaped, level bite and slightly weak chin. Not huge but with nice boning to frame, fabulous coat it has great length is thick and dense very random and unstructured with loose individual curls, medium length tail with plumy curls.

A.C. SELKIRK REX NEUTER MALE

1. P.C. CREATON & WALKER CRINKLES JACK FROST (79L 15D) MN 02/05/07

Red Longhair. A large boy with super coat in my favourite colour. Broad head with good breadth across full cheeks and clear round underlying bone structure, set well on thick short neck. Medium sized ears with width to the base and rounded to tips, large round eyes with wide set a rich orange colour, short straight nose with downward slant, medium width to muzzle which has well padded whisker pads when viewed from the side and rectangular shape to the front, level bite and firm chin. Large mature body with rectangular torso set on medium length legs with substantial boning and large firm round paws. Fabulous coat that stood well away from the body was an attractive rich red with lots of loose curls and lovely waves to his legs and paws, medium length well plumed tail. Congratulation on becoming the first Premier Selkirk today a real achievement. I am sure he has many more titles to come he is gorgeous.

1. P.C. B.O.B. GREGORY’S BEAUMARIS ANGELINA CURLY (79S 21) FN 20/05/06

Tortoiseshell Shorthair. A stunning girl with real presence who was a softie to handle and adored the attention she was a real time waster. Lovely head, broad with full cheeks and super round underlying bone structure set on a short thick neck. Medium sized ears with width to base and rounded to tips fitting neatly into the contours of the head. Such expressive large round eyes, short broad downward slanting nose, good width to muzzle with well padded whisker pads that have a very clear rectangular shape that is visible from the side and front view, level bite and firm chin. Cobby body with chunky boning she’s a solid girl and likes her food but still looks in proportion. Compliments to her hairdresser as her coat was prepared to perfection, it stood away from the body had a lovely feel and there were lots of clear curls and waves, she has super mingling of lovely vibrant reds in her solid jet black and whilst there may be no points for this it is so attractive and makes her a stunning girl. She was overall Best of Variety Neuter which she richly deserved.

B.O.B. BRYNES’S GR CH BOUNTIFUL O’SUGAR (33a36) F 09/08/07

Lovely friendly girl with great coat and super wicked look.

1. C.C. MURPHY’S KALTES RHAPSODY IN BLUE (33 16) F 18/08/08

Blue. A very cute girl with a great personality. Short wedge with high cheek bones, large eyes that are rounded to centre and slope to outer edge, curved brow to narrow flat skull between low set ears that are more medium than large with width to the base. Very short nose with slope rather than stop, she has a strong muzzle, level bite and slightly sloping chin, the whisker break has good definition and cute half chewed whiskers. Lovely size and muscle to body with broad chest sturdy legs and elegant neck. Short soft coat covers all of her body with some slight ripple to the flanks, long tail covered with short fur.

2. TAMS’S POOLSIDE TANTALIZINGTORTIE (33a28) F 14/09/08

Blue Cream. Another girl with a superb nature, short wedge with high cheek bones, wide set to eyes that are oval shaped and sloping to outer edge but could be a fraction larger. Curved brow and skull between low set medium sized ears with width to base, short nose but really a slope and not a break, her whisker break lacks definition she does have gorgeous long whiskers, her chin is on the weak side, level bite. Good size and weight to body with firm muscle tone and elegant neck, held on slim legs with small oval paws. Super coat, short and dense with lovely soft texture it covers all of her body and has well defined waves, long tail covered with short fur.

B.O.B. MARSHALL’S GR PR MAGICAL MISTERFANTASTIC (33a36b) MN 19/04/06

1. P.C. EDMOND’S CH CHARNFIELD CATECHU (33a 27b) MN 13/08/07

Chocolate Colourpointed. A very large boy who had a super nature but boy did he know how to wriggle. Short broad wedge with medium cheek bones, wide set to lovely large oval eyes that slope towards the outer edge. He has a very rounded brow and rather narrow flat skull between medium sized high set ears with tufts to tips. Short nose with slope rather than stop the colouring makes it look longer than it is, full muzzle and fairly firm chin the whisker break has short chewed whiskers and could be more defined, level bite. Lovely size and substance to his body with broad chest, a firm muscle tone, fairly slender legs with firm oval paws. Short coat covering all of his body, this is not very dense there is some curling to flanks. Long tail well covered with close lying hair.

1. P.C. TAMS’S POOLSIDE CHEEKY RASCAL (33a 30bs) FN 06/09/05

Chocolate Silver Spotted. A lovely friendly girl who obviously enjoys her food, she gave us a great glare when we put her back just in case we thought she was too much of a pushover. Short broad wedge with high cheek bones, rounded brow curves to flat skull between low set ears that are medium in size but have width to base and cute tufts to tips. Large eyes a little on the round side, short nose with stop her whisker break needs more definition, level bite and fair chin. She’s built for comfort and not speed and obviously enjoys life and is on the rotund side, very well covered coat with a slight crimp all over a fraction on the long side, long well covered tail.
