A most enjoyable show with some lovely cats. Many thanks to Janet and Jill for the invitation to judge and to the Shropshire Cat Club for their hospitality. Many thanks to Sean for stewarding for me, I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did. I look forward to the next time.

AOC FOREIGN CHAMPION

1 GCC BERNARD’S CH COPERNICUS CHERRYBLOSSOM 74e F 23.5.06

Lovely size and weight to this three and a half year old lady with a good firm feel to her. Gently rounded top of head of good breadth between the ears, moderately proportioned wedge with a rounded muzzle and definite whisker pinch. Profile shows slightly flattened brow, slight nose break then nose is a trifle long but straight to tip. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Medium ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips and pricked forward and set well apart. Good size to full almond shaped eyes, set well apart paleish greeny-blue in colour. Medium to longer body which is well balanced with a rounded chest, slim, proportionate legs and neat oval paws. Good, medium length tapering tail. Coat is fairly short, close lying and of fine, soft and silky texture with a good sheen to it. Brown Tortie Tonkinese of seal brown mingled with pale shades of red. Colour slightly more intense to points. Lovely temperament and beautifully presented.

Excellent size and weight to this two plus year old boy with good muscle tone. Medium to longer body with proportionate length, shapely legs and largish oval paws. Well shaped tail of good length to balance body. Coat is fairly short and close lying and of excellent satin like texture, just slight evidence of stud tail. Warm toned, medium chocolate in colour with darker contrast masking to face and ears. Colour pale slightly around shoulders and neck. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of goodly size, rounded at tips. In profile slight flattening to brow, fairly good nose break, nose a trifle long but straight. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large and lustrous yellow eyes set well apart. Lovely temperament.

AC BURMESE GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE

1 IGR CC WILSHAW’S GR CH ROSSIKHAN CENTREFOLD 27c F 3.11.07

Elegant and deceptively weighty two plus year old lady with a good firm feel to her. Medium length body with a nicely rounded chest and straight back. Slender, proportionate legs and neat oval paws. Good length and shape to slightly tapering tail to balance body. Coat is short and fine, close lying and with an excellent satin like texture. Medium lilac colour which is nice and even with minimal bluey contrast masking to face and ears. Lovely short wedge, wide at cheek bones and with a blunt finish to the muzzle. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of slightly generous size. In profile slight rounding to brow, good nose break and short, straight nose. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Pale yellow eyes, large and lustrous and set well apart and giving a ‘typical’ burmese expression. Plenty to say for herself but handled nicely.

BROWN/BLUE TABBY MAINE COON KITTEN MALE

1 & BOB ROBERTS’S MAINETRAX KOUGAR 64 41w M 27.7.09

Well grown six month old boy who was well prepared and presented. Well balanced head is medium in length and of good breadth being slightly less than the length with fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. Good profile line with shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width. Tall, large ears, well feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tall tufted tips. Good size and shape to yellow eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set. Good breadth to square muzzle with a level bite and fair depth chin. Large, long body, solid and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, well boned legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Moderately long neck. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with full, flowing fur. Undercoat with more substantial glossy top coat developing. Some breeches and shaggy belly fur and nice frontal ruff starting to develop. Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon with a good classic pattern in black against a golden brown ground colour and white to nose, lips, chest, front short socks, centre of tummy and back boots. Lovely temperament.

2 HUNTER’S MAJANCO OH WHAT AGEM 64 41w M 15.5.09

Nearly nine month old boy with a medium length head with breadth developing. Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. Nice profile line with shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width. Good ears tall and large, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tips with tiny tufts. Full and round shape to eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set, yellow in colour. Square look to muzzle which I would prefer slightly broader for perfection, fair depth chin and level bite. Large body, solid and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, substantial legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Good tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with long, flowing fur. Good undercoat with more substantial glossy top coat developing length down back and flanks. Breeches, shaggy belly fur and ruff developing. Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon with white to tip of nose, chin, bib, front paws, narrow stripe down tummy and back half boots. Golden brown ground colour with a good black classic pattern. Sweet natured.

3 LAWSON’S OLTOMAINE LITTLE BOY BLUE 64 41a MN 8.5.09

Almost nine month old boy with a super temperament. Head is medium in length but I would like to see him develop a little more breadth to balance. Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. Profile shows shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width. Tall, large ears, feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tufted tips. Good size and shape to yellow eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set. Good breadth to muzzle which I would prefer squarer but with a good depth, level chin and level bite. Long body, solid and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Long, strong legs and large rounded paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Moderately long neck. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with fairly long flowing fur. Undercoat with more substantial top coat still developing. Fur shorter on head, neck and shoulders and lengthening down back, flanks and tail. Slight breeches and shaggy belly fur and little evidence of ruff. Blue Tabby Maine Coon with a deepish blue classic pattern which I would prefer with stronger definition particularly over his back. Pale bluey ground colour with mushroom overtones. Nice facial markings.

 4 PADMORE’S FELLPURRS MUSKATEER 64 41aw M 11.6.09

Very well grown seven month old boy. Head is medium in length and of fairly good breadth with reasonable width at cheek bones. Very shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge, nose a trifle long but of uniform width. Excellent ears tall, large well feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tall, tufted tips. Round shape to eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set, yellow in colour. Fairly good breadth to muzzle which I would prefer with a squarer look, firm, level chin and level bite. Large, long body, solid and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Well boned legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip with very full, soft fur. Still showing a slightly fluffy kitten coat with length still to develop. Breeches, shaggy belly fur and frontal ruff developing. Blue Tabby and White Maine Coon with white to chin, bib, front paws, rear of tummy and back boots. Pale blue ground colour with slightly deeper shade to pattern which I would prefer with more definition.

BRITISH BROWN/BLUE/CHOCOLATE/LILAC TABBY ADULT

BOB CHANCE’S CH NANNKAY SNOWY MORNING 20c M 27.3.08

Large nearly two year old boy with good overall balance. Broad, round face with full cheeks, good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with very good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, small in size and rounded at tips. Good profile line with rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Large, round and well open orange eyes set well apart. Short neck to weighty cobby body with good muscle tone, short level back, low on legs and with a broad, deep chest. Short, strong, well boned legs and huge, rounded paws. Tail slightly long but thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat a trifle long particularly down spine but fairly dense and with a nice crisp texture. Lilac Tabby British of cool toned beige ground colour with deepish lilac classic tabby markings. Good classic pattern with butterfly outline at shoulders and oyster shaped patches on flanks and parallel lines down spine. Alert and playful boy.

1 CC MARTIN’S NANNKAYPEACHESANDCREAM 20c F 20.11.07

Nicely balanced two plus year old boy of good size and weight with good muscle tone. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, small in size and rounded at tips. In profile rounding to brow and short, broad nose, straight line spoilt by slight bump. Level bite and good depth chin. Round orange eyes set wide apart but I would prefer them larger for perfection. Good cobby body with proportionate, strong, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Tail is a bit long, thicker at base and tapers to slightly fine tip. Coat is a trifle long and I would prefer more density, slightly close lying along spine but it has a fairly crisp texture. Lilac Tabby British of cool toned beige ground colour with a well defined deepish lilac, classic tabby pattern. Good facial markings

BRITISH BLACK SILVER TABBY KITTEN MALE

1 & BOB WITHEY’S RONALDO SILVER OABIC 18 M 25.5.09

Good overall balance to this eight month old boy of good weight for size but I would like to see him develop in stature. Full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears set well apart following the outer contours of the head, medium in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Good breadth to muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. Puffed up whisker pads gave his muzzle a slightly square look but probably because he was unsure of himself. Large and well open eyes set wide apart, colour still developing so a bit yellowy in tone. Compact body with good muscle tone, good level back, low on legs and with a well rounded chest. Short, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Good tail medium in length, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is fairly short with some density just the soft side of crisp in texture. Black Silver Tabby British of silver ground colour with a good classic pattern in black. Lovely facial markings. Minimal tarnishing to muzzle. Very nervous young man who was coaxed into relaxing and then looked so much better.

BRITISH BLACK SILVER TABBY KITTEN FEMALE

1 SINKINSON’S LIMATZ KANDY CANE 18 F 25.8.09

A very appealing kitten of good size and weight for age with a good firm feel to her. Broad head with round face when viewed from the front with full cheeks. Very good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between medium sized ears set far apart but held just slightly low so not quite following the outer contours of the head. In profile rounded brow, nose just a trifle long but straight and broad. Nice muzzle, level bite and fair depth chin. Large and well open eyes set wide apart with green tone to colour yet to develop. Compact body with a short level back and good breadth to rounded chest. Short, medium boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is fairly short with density developing, just the soft side of crisp in texture. Black Silver Tabby British of really bright silver ground colour with a superb dense, black classic pattern, to be really picky just a slight break in the oyster shaped patches. Stunning facial markings. Sweet natured girl with lots of promise. She was noticeably teething and this may have been slightly distorting her face shape and ear set.
