HERTFORDSHIRE & MIDDLESEX CAT CLUB SHOW 4 September 2010 Judge: Perri Hutchison

I would like to thank Elaine, Lisa & the Committee for the kind invitation to judge at the 60th Championship show in Luton. Special thanks to Sally Giles who stewarded most ably for me, she handled the cats with care and attention, and was good company. I hope we can do it again sometime.

Cream Burmese Adult

1CC KEMPE’S OAKENSHIELD JULIETTE 27f F (15.10.9)

Very nice young girl with a super expression! Gently rounded top of head. Nice size ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, blunt muzzle. Expressive eyes are set well apart, good shape and size, yellow in colour. Rounded brow. Good nose break, firm chin, level bite. Firm, muscular body of good weight. Slim legs and oval paws. Tail balances, super paintbrush tip. Coat short and close, good texture and shine. Nice even cream with good powdering on her extremities. Sweet temperament. Loved to chew my hair! Ran the mature girl close for the BOB!

BOB to DELL’s CH KUPRO CREAM CHIFFON 27f F (12.7.5)

Nice mature girl of super type. Gentle rounded top of head. Slightly large ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, blunt muzzle. Expressive yellow eyes are set well apart, good shape and size. Flat brow. Excellent nose break, straight nose, firm chin, level bite. Muscular weighty lass. Slender legs and oval paws. Tail of good shape, paintbrush tip, balances. Coat short and close lying, good texture and shine. Super pale cream, with good powdering on her extremities. Little purrer! Well presented.

Blue Burmese Kitten Male

1 JENNER-PESCADOR’S MACOYS ARCHIE BALD 27a M (12.3.10)

Cute purring poppet! Gently rounded top of head. Large ears held rather high, needs more width in between. Eyes are set well apart, good shape and size, chartreuse in colour. Medium wedge, muzzle pinch. Flat brow, poor nose break, nose is long in profile and rolls off at tip. Firm chin, level bite. Muscular chap of good weight. Slender legs and oval paws. Tail of good shape, paintbrush tip, balances. Coat is long but of good texture and shine. Slate blue with good silvering on his extremities. Sweet gentle lad. Well presented.

Female 1 & BOB BONE’S SYKRIS DRESSTOIMPRESS 27a F (8.1.10)

Nice type girl. gently rounded top of head. Large ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, blunt muzzle. Expressive eyes are set well apart, good shape and size, yellow in colour. Rounded brow. Good nose break, nose rolls off at very tip. Firm chin, level bite. Good weight, solid muscular lass. Dainty legs and oval paws. Tail of good shape, paintbrush tip, balances. Coat short and close lying, good texture and shine. Nice even slate blue with good silvering over her extremities. Sweet purring girl. well presented. She went on to become Best of Variety Burmese kitten – congratulations!

Lovely mature chap of 9 years, 7 months old. Gently rounded top of head. Large ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, blunt muzzle. Expressive eyes are set well apart, good shape and size, yellow in colour. Rounded brow. Good nose break, straight nose, firm chin, level bite. Huge weighty chap with rather a large tummy!! Strong legs and oval paws. Tail of good shape, paintbrush tip short to balance. Super short coat, excellent texture and shine. Nice pale cream with good powdering on his extremities. Friendly boy. Well presented.

Oriental Spotted Tabby Kitten

1 & BOB TARBOX’S TIJANMEEK LEOPARDESS 38d F (26.5.10)

Cute baby just old enough to be at show. Very confident and inquisitive. Stylish head type. Nice top of head with good width in between ears. Large wide based flared ears well set. Good length well balanced wedge. Oriental eyes set well apart, slanting towards her nose, vivid green in colour. In profile straight nose, firm chin, level bite. Elegant neck. Nice svelte body of good weight for her age. Slim legs and oval paws. Tail long and tapering, balances. Coat short and close. Nicely spotted on left side. Spots are more linked on her right side especially behind her shoulder. Good spots on shoulders. Spine line starting to break nicely. The spots she has do go down to the roots. At present not too much agouti invasion. Rich warm red markings on a paler bright red groundcoat. Lovely tufty ears. Sweetest purring temperament. Well presented. She was squinting when we went to her pen, but when I carried her over to the daylight lamp, and was waiting for it to be set up, she was inquisitive and nosey, and on looking around the hall, the squint was not there.

Scrummy! Super choc tortie girl! Gently rounded top of head. Nice size ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, blunt muzzle. Expressive eyes are set well apart, good shape and size yellow in colour. Rounded brow. Excellent nose break, straight nose, firm chin, level bite. Muscular lass of good weight. Dainty legs and spoonshaped paws. Tail of good shape, paintbrush tip, short to balance. Coat short and close lying, good texture and shine. Attractive tortie markings. Sweet purring lass. Well presented.

2 GILES’ CH RAWEKE SOMETHING BLUE 27g F (14.4.8)

Another mature girl of good type. Gently rounded top of head. Nice size ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, blunt muzzle. Expressive eyes are set well apart, good shape and size, chartreuse in colour. Flat brow. Excellent nose break, straight nose, firm chin, level bite. Muscular lass of good weight. Slender legs and oval paws. Tail of good shape, paintbrush tip, balances. Coat short and close lying, good texture and shine. Pretty blue tortie. Loved her cream “paint” on the tip of her tail! Sweet friendly girl. well presented.

My old friend of 12 years old looking super today! She still has the most fabulous type head. Gently rounded top of head. Nice size ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, blunt muzzle. Expressive eyes are set well apart, good shape and size, yellow in colour. Flat brow. Excellent nose break, straight nose, firm chin, level bite. Large body with round tummy, but I have to say, she has lost some weight, and looks better for it!! Slender legs and oval paws. Tail of good shape, paintbrush tip, short to balance. Coat is short and close lying, excellent texture and shine. Rich warm tangerine red. Sweet gentle girl. Well presented.

Another old friend of mine, of 9 years old now, and looking good today. Gently rounded top of head. Large ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, nice blunt muzzle. Eyes are expressive, set well apart, good shape and size, chartreuse in colour. Flat brow, good nose break, straight nose, firm chin, level bite. Muscular girl of good weight. Slender legs and oval paws. Tail is slightly thick in shape, rounded tip, balances. Coat is short and close lying, good texture and super sheen. Warm even seal brown. Purring lass. Well presented.

Chocolate Silver Burmilla with Burmese colour restriction. Super chap, has really matured now! I remember him as a tiny kitten! Gently rounded top of head. Nice size ears well set with correct forward tilt. Short wide wedge, blunt muzzle, excellent depth of head. Expressive eyes are set well apart, top lid slanting towards his nose, fuller more rounder lower lid, yellow in colour. Rounded brow. Excellent nose break, nose rolls off at very tip. Firm chin, level bite. Muscular chap of good weight. Slender legs and oval paws. Tail of good shape, rounded tip, balances. Coat is short and close lying, with good texture and shine. Medium shaded with his mantle of colour correctly paling to sides. Good silver undercoat. Super purring chap. Well presented. He went on to be Best of Variety Foreign Neuter and then overall Best Foreign – many congratulations to his owner and his breeder – well deserved!!

Cornish Rex. Handsome chap of super type. Large ears set correctly high on head, wide at base and rounded tips. Medium wedge with high cheekbones. Rounded muzzle and strong chin. Medium sized, oval shaped eyes, top line set almost straight, with slight slant to outer edge of ear, yellow in colour. Flat skull curving gently at the brow, tiny bump on nose, firm chin, level bite. Long elegant neck. Muscular, firm and slender body. Long legs and oval paws. Tail long, fine and tapering, well covered with wavy fur, balances. Crinkly eyebrows and whiskers. Coat is short and dense, silky in texture. The coat is well curled showing good rippling on back and sides. Cute white socks. Friendly purring chap. Nicely presented.

Slender legs and oval paws. Tail long and tapering, balances. Coat short and close lying. Warm cinnamon brown, sound to the roots. Purring chappie. Well presented. I made him Best of Variety Oriental kitten. Many congratulations to his owner/breeder – I will watch his progress with great interest.

Coat medium long fine and silky and lying flat to her body. Faint tabby pattern evident on her body with ringed legs. Medium shading with colour restricted to the ends of her hair. Black markings on a good silver undercoat. Happier under her blanket. Well presented.

Slender legs and oval paws. Tail is long and tapering, balances. Coat is short and close lying, good texture and sheen. Frosty grey with distinct pinkish tone, sound to the roots. Sweet lad. Well presented.

Apricot tabby Balinese. Lovely chap. Strong top of head. Large wide based flared ears well set. Good length well balanced wedge. Oriental eyes set well apart, a little deep set, deep blue in colour. In profile, straight nose, firm chin, level bite. Elegant neck. Medium body of good weight. Legs are slender and oval feet. Tail long and tapering, balances, super plume. His coat is medium long, fine and silky and lying flat to his body. His points show clear apricot tabby markings, hot in tone, with slightly darker dusting. Handsome young man with a lovely temperament. Well presented.
