HERTS & MIDDLESEX CC – 6 SEPTEMBER 2008 – BRENDA PEARCE
Once again I was most grateful to Catherine Moulton for giving up her time to steward for me – as always she had everything under control and was perfect company. My thanks also to Elaine, John and Lisa for inviting me to judge – congratulations on a well run and friendly show. The hall lighting here is not wonderful for colour judging so allowances have to be made - all the cats were a credit to their owners and their breed.
Imperial Class – AC Siamese/Balinese GR CH Male. A very pleasing class of top class boys.
IGC, Baughan’s GR CH MAPU PEPPIE. (24n) 22.4.01. Caramel Point Siamese. A very relaxed and handsome boy – excellent for type, looking extremely well at 7 years plus, and well deserving of this high award. Lovely strong even lines to his beautifully balanced wedge head. Ears large, wide based and set well apart. Very good strong profile, his chin ebbs just a little, but although he has lost most of his incisors the bite is level. Very expressive bright blue eyes, excellent in both oriental shape and set – a touch more depth would see perfection. Elegant neckline, body very hard and muscular to the feel, stands beautifully on long strong elegant legs, fine whip tail almost balances. Points well matched, of lilac based caramel showing correct brownish overtones. Body off white, very lightly shaded over his back in tone with his points - his contrast excellent. Coat of good texture, very well prepared and close lying. He was beautifully presented – very easy to handle - his temperament truly outstanding.
RIGC, Harrington’s IMP GR CH HELLFIRE CASTASPELL. (32/10) 26.11.03. Apricot Tabby Point Siamese. A lovely lad, very substantial size wise and excellent for type. Very strong broad wedge head, his ears large wide based and set perfectly in line. Good strong profile, good depth to chin, level bite. Very good depth and intensity to his eyes – excellent oriental shape and setting - very gentle and soulful expression. Long hard body, a little on the well fed side but he is a big cat and can just about carry it off without too much loss of elegance. Long strong legs, stands well, his tail long and tapering. Tabby markings overall well defined in soft warm apricot. Faint thumb prints, slightly muted M on his forehead, single cheek ribbons, spotted whisker pads. Shadow leg bars and arm bands. Tail well ringed. Body of warm creamy white showing a fair bit of tonal shading over his back – the contrast between body and points still good. Coat of good length and texture, very well prepared, close and sleek. Superb temperament, perfectly presented and a joy to handle.
Imperial Class – AC Siamese/Balinese GR CH Female.
IGC, Knowlson’s GR CH DRESTOTHRIL DANCELOT. (32b1) 3.6.06. Seal Tortie Point Siamese. A truly stunning lady to look at, beautifully stylish and extremely elegant in type – but madam was not best pleased today!! Gorgeous head type, her wedge strong and even with large wide based ears of excellent set and flare. Lovely strong profile, good depth to her chin, the bite level. Excellent oriental shape and setting to brilliant blue eyes, dark and flashing - very expressive!! Very long body and neckline – firm, well toned and slinky. Long slim legs. Long fine whip tail to balance. Points all beautifully mingled in warm seal brown with bright red splashes – lovely rich mottling to her ears. Body warm in tone, showing some light tortie shading over her back – her contrast remaining very good. Coat of excellent texture, beautifully prepared and close lying. Lovely presentation, I learnt afterwards from her delighted owner that this was her qualifying certificate – many congratulations.
Foreign White Kitten.
1 & BOB, Hall’s FURRYFACE SCHNEEWITTCHEN. F 15.1.08. What a beautiful kitten – striking for type, quite a little glamour puss!! Very strong head – short, deep and heavy with lovely top line and very large wide based ears of excellent set and flare. Very good straight profile, her chin lines up – bite level. Vivid blue colour to her eyes with lovely grown up expression – of excellent oriental shape and setting. Well grown and developed with a firm and very well muscled long body, slender neckline, long slim legs. Tail of reasonably good length, could be finer. Pure white coat of excellent texture, very well prepared and close lying. Very promising baby – excellently presented.
Oriental Black Kitten.
1 & BOB, Brindley’s SHADOWSQUAD LIBERTY. F 17.3.08. A well grown attractive kitten of good overall type. Head medium in length, an almost even wedge with large ears which were set well but with a tendency to hold a touch high. Good profile, almost straight with a firm chin and level bite. Clear bright green eyes, a little full in shape but of good oriental set. Very good length to her firm and well muscled body, well defined and elegant neckline. Long slender legs. Long whip tail, slightly knobbly at the tip. Lovely short and sleek jet black coat, sound and very well prepared. Sweet girl, excellent presentation.
2 Partridge’s NUTROSTAR SECRETLOVE. F 30.4.08. A very fine boned, spidery kitten who at first sight was quite eye catching. However she does have a couple of problems at the moment, which hopefully will improve as she grows up, but which I could not ignore on the day. Quite a long pinched wedge head with good width to balance. Her ears large, wide at the base and well set. In profile there is a noticeable skull depression and small dip below; this needs to straighten out. Chin has good depth and her bite is level. Clear bright green eyes of good oriental shape and setting. Promising length of body which was firm to the feel and of good weight for her size. Long slim legs with tiny feet. Tail fine, slightly blunt at the tip. Jet black coat, still rather long and kittenish but was sound and close lying. Delightful temperament – excellent presentation.
Oriental Longhair Kitten.
1 & BOB, Ellis’s ROUJASMA SILVERTIGA. (62 43s) M 22.3.08. Black Silver Shaded. Only 5 months old but shows excellent growth and development – overall of good type and balance. Wedge head of medium length, his ears well set, for my preference could be a little larger. Very good strong profile, chin firm and the bite level. Quite an inquisitive expression to his eyes of good oriental shape and set, olive green in colour. Very well muscled long body with strong legs and paws. Long well plumed tail. His coat has good texture, lies well and is of good length for a kitten of this age. Pattern wise I must admit that I did wonder shaded or tabby?? There is a lot of black tabby pattern evident at the moment, but the silver undercoat does extend a fair way up the hair shaft. Time might prove me wrong, and in any case will sort him out, but on the day I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and accept him as he was entered. Excellent presentation - very sweet tempered.
Tabby Point Siamese Kitten Male.
1 Simpson’s SHERMESE THELONIOUS. (32/2) 16.5.08. Blue Tabby Point. A handsome little chap, very good type, a little shy at his first show. Well balanced strong wedge head with large ears, wide based and well set. Very good profile, almost straight with good depth to his chin and a level bite. Dark eyes, well shaped and set. Promising length to well muscled body, manubrium just a touch prominent at the moment. Long legs with neat paws. Fine whip tail. Soft mid blue tabby markings developing well. Small fine M, short single cheek ribbons and pin prick whisker spots to his mask. Shadow leg bars. Good tail rings. Clear glacial tone to body. Close lying baby coat. Beautifully prepared and presented in a cosy bed - looks a promising baby.
Tabby Point Siamese Kitten Female.
1 & BOB, Knowlson’s DRESTOTHRIL VIVA LA DIVA. (32/1) 19.2.08. Seal Tabby Point. I love her type – she has the elusive wow factor, my only wish is that she were a little bigger. Very evenly balanced strong wedge head – excellent length to width ratio with large widely flared ears. Strong profile line with a firm chin and even bite. Truly oriental eyes, very dark and expressive. Body long, firm and very elegant. Graceful neckline. Slim legs, dainty feet, Fine whip tail. Tabby markings of lovely warm seal brown. Clear round thumb prints. Finely traced M, single ribbons and delicate whisker spots on her mask. Paler leg bars and arm bands. Solid dorsal line to her tail - the rings could be clearer but she is obviously ticked based which tends not to help. Warm un-shaded body. Coat of good texture, well prepared and close lying. Lovely temperament and presentation.

The mask not quite complete – the usual chocolate point problem. His legs a lovely pale warm chocolate. Virtually un-shaded warm ivory body, his contrast excellent. Lovely short and close lying coat, beautifully prepared, his condition superb. Presentation and temperament both excellent.

Areas of colour on her points are of darkish chocolate, with pleasing warmth to the tone, and breaks of bright red. Her body is virtually free of shading, with a short close coat of excellent texture. Lovely relaxed temperament, shows herself well, excellent presentation.

Long hard and muscular body, strong masculine neckline, long strong legs, long whip tail to balance. Lovely bright rich red colouring with some ghost tabby pattern in evidence. The amount of white just conforms, being present on his face and all of his legs, plus his chest and in an unbroken line along the underside of his body. Short, close coat, very well prepared. Straight profile, good chin and bite. Excellent oriental shape and set to his eyes – very good depth of colour with a confident expression. Body firm and well developed, his legs and tail in balance. Coat of very good texture, well prepared and close lying. Sweet gentle kitten – excellent presentation.
2 Russell’s AYSHAZEN EASTER PASSION. (24c) F 23.3.08. Lilac Point Siamese. Dear little girl - a dainty baby, just a mite small for her age – of quite good type. Wedge head of medium length, needs a little more width to better balance the length. Large ears held a touch high – holds them better when returned to her pen. Good profile, almost straight with a firm chin and level bite. Eyes of good oriental shape and set – clear bright blue. Promising length of body, firm to the feel and of good weight for her size. Dainty legs and feet. Whip tail. Very good soft pinkish grey points – looked a good colour even in this poor lighting. Un-shaded pale body, her coat rather open and fluffy but I think she was probably cold – Siamese babies do need more than one blanket – they hate the cold.
