PRESTON AND BLACKPOOL CAT CLUB SHOW 27TH MARCH 2010 JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLENThanks so much to Jacky Edwards and the committee for their kind invitation to judge at this year’s show. A great day with some lovely felines and with Lesley Muffet as my steward what more can a girl ask for!! I would also like to thank Rachel, a student at a local college who also came along to help I hope she found the experience interesting. AOV SLH CHAMPION MALEGR CC BLADES CH BIG-HANNIBALS’S DARK DEVIL (IMP)30/5/08A very impressive Maine Coon with lovely head type . Super balance of width to length of his head. Large ears, high set with correct distance between. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile. Lovely perpendicular line from nose tip to chin. Superb squareness to his muzzle. High cheek bones. Amazing long body and tail with superb substance and muscle tone. Very well shown coat with wonderful texture and such sparkling white against the dense black. Great length on flanks and full ruff. Very good to handle and a pleasure to judge. RES GR CC JONES CH GROOVICATS KOKOMO 66a24/8/05Very pleasing much more mature Ragdoll. Substantial male with broad head and flat plane. Nice width between his medium ears, correctly set. Large, nicely opened eyes that were slightly obliquely set. Firm chin with nice rounded muzzle. Medium length nose with gentle dip. Long body with lovely tone and broad chest. Medium length limbs with large, round paws. Long bushy tail tapering slightly to the tip and almost reaching the shoulders. Silky texture coat with ruff and knickerbockers. Very well shown with nicely matching grey blue points and bluish white body colouring with minimal shading on the back. BLACK ADULT1 CC BOB HACKINGS BALOOBOO SWEET SUCCESS 9.4.09I was so pleased to give this boy the CC today and make him up to champion!! He has a wonderful wide, typy head with neat ears set low on his skull. Round, sound orange coloured eyes with a short nose and wide, chubby cheeks. Good bite and firm chin. His body is stocky supported on thick, short legs. Lovely body weight and boning. Long, flowing coat that was almost sound and very well shown. 2 HIGGINS HEATHROSE BARNEY RUBBLE 26.5.09Younger boy but another very promising young male with lovely head and type. His ears well set on his skull. Round eyes that were not quite as large as the winner but of good colour. Short nose with wide cheeks. Another with lovely body shape and on low thick legs. His coat just needs more time, still retaining the kitten grey as yet. Well shown and sweet to handle. WHITE ORANGE EYED ADULT 1 CC COOKS GEMKIN DIAMANTE F 11.6.09Very pleasing young lady with a good round head and well set ears that were just a little generous as yet in size. Strong coloured eyes that had just a small amount of staining under them. Fat cheeks with good chin. Cobby frame that was covered by a full, nicely textured coat. Very well shown and another one with a future I feel sure. BOB TO STEWARTS UK & I GR CH LAZANE ON CLOUD NINE M 8.6.07He was just looking totally the complete package today. I was delighted that he went on to win overall best in show, he so deserves it and so does his devoted owner for keeping a white entire male in such fab condition. CHINCHILLA KITTEN1 BOB SMITHS ZILVATRULY SCRUMPTIOUS 28/7/09So aptly named. I first had the pleasure of her acquaintance in Scotland last month and I still think she is so eye catching! Fabulous type with a great top of head and neat well set ears. Large, round eyes so expressive with a decent green developing from the centre. Attractive outlined as was her brick red leather of her short nose. Wide cheeks. Good bite and firm chin. Cobby little frame with thick, short legs. Short, well furnished tail. Her coat was long and well shown and showing promising even tipping. A very confident and impressive kitten with lovely balance. My best kitten. CHOCOLATE/LILAC BIRMAN KITTEN1 BOB withheld POOLS SARMOYAH RHAPSODY 13c3 2.8.09A very nicely rounded skull and head . Medium nose with a slight dip in profile and slightly roman in shape, chocolate nose leather. Lovely full, rounded cheeks that tapered to an adequate muzzle and chin. Medium size ears that were set wide apart on her skull. Almost round sound blue eyes. Very nice substance to her long body with medium length legs that were thick set with short, strong paws. Bushy tail was in proportion to her body length. She has a lovely silky texture coat that was ivory in tone and very nicely shown. Her points colouring was a milk chocolate tone darker on her mask than elsewhere at present. Her gloves were a little lower than the angle of paw and leg and behind both had white to the stopper pad but not beyond. Her white socks covered her back paws. Her gauntlets where white to the point of hock both of them veering to the inside but on her left leg I felt it encroached round onto the inside of her leg, my reason for withholding the BOB on this otherwise very nice kitten. 2 HAGUE-FOALE BLUEGENES ABBY 13c4 13.9.09A well grown kitten with quite a broad, rounded skull. Medium ears set well apart on her head. Medium length nose, lilac nose leather, with slight dip in profile. Almost round pale blue eyes. Long, substantial body with her bushy tail in proportion. Medium length limbs that were thick set with short, strong paws. Still rather short body coat that was off-white magnolia in tone but of a promising texture. Her points were very pale pinkish grey the most definition of colour on her mask, the tail and legs several tones lighter as yet. Her gloves were white to below the angle of paw and leg and sadly both had a runner extending past the stopper pad. White socks covered her back paws and her gauntlets tapered slightly up to just below the point of hock. Confident young lady who was nicely shown. BROWN/BLUE TABBY/TABBY AND WHITE MAINE COON NEUTER1 PR MAWSONS MABALAKAT LOUIS WAIN 64 41w 20/3/09A very attractive young lad with very nicely balanced head. Large, high set ears with those amazing tufts!! Nice width to length balance of his head with high cheek bones. Expressive large eyes slightly obliquely set. Uniform width nose with slight shallow concave curve in profile with perpendicular line from nose to chin. Very good square muzzle. Long, well filled body with long substantial legs and paws. Long well furnished tail. Great clarity to his coat pattern lovely texture and so well shown. AC PERSIAN SELF CAT BRED BY EXHIBITOR1 BALOOBOO SWEET SUCCESS2 ROGERS GR CH MILNUSS ELLIEANNA 70 1Very type female, nearly three years old. Quite a small head but nicely balanced with large, deep orange eyes. Very short nose with quite a small leather and nostrils. Wide, fat cheeks. Firm chin to balance. Quite a cobby body with short tail. Dense black coat that was loosing a bit of undercoat but still standing away nicely from her body. Sweet to handle. 3 PRIESTLEY GR CH SHIMBA EYECATCHER 5AC PERSIAN NOVICE CAT1 HEATHROSE BARNEY RUBBLE2 HALLIDAYS DALLIHAY MOONCRYSTAL 53Pleasing young girl of only 9 months. Nicely balanced head and type with a small skull depression that hopefully will get better as her head broadens further. Expressive large eyes. Short nose with wide cheeks. Acceptable bite and chin. Large frame with super boning. Short tail. Long, flowing coat that was well shown and just needs to develop a little more strength in colouring in the mantle for the full pewter effect. Very pleasing overall especially taking into account her tender age! 3 MORRIS HEATHROSE SUGARWALLS 70 5AC PERSIAN KITTEN RESIDENT IN LANCS1 VAN HEUMANS HIGHSPOT ROCKSYMUSIC 51eCute youngster of 5 months 3 weeks. Very well balanced with nice width to skull and well set quite neat ears. Smooth skull and round, large eyes with the colour still developing. Short nose, surrounded by full cheeks. Acceptable bite and decent firm chin. Cobby frame and a short tail. Her coat colouring was rather indistinct at the moment with no definition of the lighter undercoat as yet. I would hope that the red develops further as she matures. Lovely nature and confident baby.
