EXOTIC CAT CLUB SHOW 3RD APRIL 2010 JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLEN

I would like to thank Shelagh and Kit and everyone on the committee for the wonderful effort put into making this show another success. I would also like to say thanks to the Mau team for their sterling efforts in the catering department on the day. It makes the difference between just staging a show to one that everyone enjoys and wants to come back to again and I do feel we achieved that again this year. I would also like to thank my two stewards, Ed Merchant and Lesley Miles we had a great time together and I know they enjoyed getting their hands on the quality exhibits we had on the day. I am proud to be the Chairman of this club and for those who did not manage to come this year, I would thoroughly recommend joining us next time around for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Can I finish by saying just how much I loved being let loose in the Household Pet section I was so honoured to be allowed to handle such a fantastic selection of much loved pets, my thanks to you all.

AC SELF EXOTIC PREMIER MALE

Very nicely balanced head and expression. Rounded skull with neat ears low set. Round, copper eyes. Short nose with wide cheeks. Slightly undershot bite but acceptable and a firm chin. Not an overly large frame but nicely proportioned with dense black coat just beginning to moult. Pleasing boy and I was delighted to find out that I made him a grand on the day. Well done to Brenda and Mike the breeders and to Pam and Derek his devoted owners.

I have reported on this mature campaigner many times before and I can only say how well she is holding back the years!!! Lovely mature typy expression with such great body conformation. Her coat being thick, dense and standing away well. Sweet girl.

Mature boy with very broad top of head and quite neat ears low set on his head. Round mid orange coloured eyes. Short nose with full cheeks acceptable bite and firm chin. Large frame with wonderful body weight! Nice short, well boned legs with round paws. Short rounded tail to finish. His coat was very dense and standing out well from his body but a little dry in texture and his legs were a tad greasy. I think he was just about to start moulting so a very difficult time for an entire male to be shown!

Cute youngster! Very appealing appearance with such neat ears set low and nicely into the contours of her rounded head. Large eyes with still rather a muddy colour but promising to be a nice copper tone. Short nose with fat cheeks and good bite and chin. Cobby frame still a little immature as yet. Stocky legs. Her coat as dense and standing away well but moulting! She was showing shades of red mingled with the black. Well shown and confident young lady!

1 CRAIG & BELLS SHEERBLIS MYSTICAL CHARM 70 12a6ts

A very sweet, eyecatching girlwith super head balance and neat ears well set on her skull, just a tad open as yet. Round eyes of good colour. Short nose surrounded by full cheeks. Good bite and firm chin. Her coat was dense and standing away from her body well. Short, rounded tail. Lovely colouring and patterning and very well groomed.

2 GLEDHILLS OWLETTS TIGER-LILY 70 8

Only still such a baby and needs to mature! At present she has rather a small head compared to her well filled body! I also hope that she fills out a little further on the lower half of her face. Small build and frame but with good weight. Her coat displaying very nice classic patterning and super density of coat. Very well shown and sweet to handle.

1 WYATTS RISINGMOON HALF NELSON 70 9

I was itching to get my hands on this young man! Not quite a year old yet with lovely head and type, his ears just need to settle a little further apart on his broad, wide skull. Captivating copper eyes. Short nose, full wide cheeks and a good bite and chin. Massive frame with stocky, short legs and strong paws. Short rounded tail to finish. But it was his classic tabby patterning that completely blew me away!! Amazing clarity and still with a dense, plush coat. Very well presented.

2 WYATTS EXOTIQUESAMOUR VANTASTIC 70 12a2

Just a week older! This boy also has some very nice qualities and for me just needs more time to fully mature. His ears need to neaten a little more and personally I would like a little more fullness to his lower face and muzzle. Having said that he is a very pleasing boy with large, round eyes of nice orange, short nose and firm chin. Lovely body with strong bone and excellent weight. Maximum expression of white with the blue just to his top of head and tail. Shown in wonderful condition.

1 MILES NO COMMENT EDGARD POE 70 12a5

I just preferred the larger, bolder eye of Poe, it just brought his whole expression together for me. Nice top of head developing, with reasonably neat ears well set. Round, strong orange eyes. Short nose, wide cheeks and good bite and chin. Promising large frame with good substance and nice limbs and paws. Short rounded tail. Good density to his coat and well presented with sparkling white against a strong red with just a few ghost markings. Handled well.

2 FAWCETTS ASSOLUTA DI QUELLA PIRA 70 13b1

How lovely to see such a quality colourpointed exotic, super head and type he was not overly keen to open his eyes but they appeared a reasonable tone of blue and size. Short nose with good bite and chin. Large frame that was of great weight with good boning to his legs. Short tail. His coat was nicely shown thick and standing out well from his body. Dense seal points just slightly shaded on his body at the moment. It was a close run thing between these two nice young males.

Pretty little female who needs just to mature a bit further and fill out more in her lower face. I loved her clarity of classic tabby patterning against the clear silver ground colouring. Just a little tarnishing to her face. Nicely shown.

Beautiful boy with such a super balanced head and type. Well set ears on his strong rounded head. Large, expressive copper eyes. Short nose with full cheeks, nice bite and chin. Large, cobby frame with thick, short legs. Short tail to balance. Classicly patterned coat that was of great clarity and with white that sparkled. Very well shown and lovely texture to his coat. Very stylish boy.

2 CRAIG AND BELLS CH SHEERBLISS DREAMCATCHER 70 12a1ts

I was very impressed by this boy too, he has such nice head type and balance too. I felt that his coat was past its best for the season and making the coat patterning rather diffused. I do like him a lot and when back in full coat he will be a real force to reckon with.

Very nice exhibit with great breadth of head and strong type. Super balance with large eyes of strong orange colour. Short upturned nose surrounded by fat cheeks and nice firm chin with good bite. Large frame stocky and weighty. Short well boned legs and paws. His coat was very dense and standing away well from his body, very nicely spotted with good ground colour. Very well shown.

I do really like this female! Wonderful roundness of head with lovely forehead and neat set low ears. Round eyes that have paled a little with age. Short nose with good nostrils. Wide, fat cheeks and a nice bite and chin. Very cobby frame with stocky limbs and round paws. Short tail to finish. Wonderful clarity in her black patches and her white areas absolutely pristine. Her coat was very thick and dense and outstanding from her body. A very sweet girl in top condition.

2 WALLACES IGR CH VIVALDI WHOLLYSMOKE 70 36

Mature lad who I have admired much over the years he was shown as an entire and great to see him again now. He has very nice type with broad head and quite neat ears. Round eyes that were orange in colour. Short nose with fat cheeks and nice bite and chin. Quite a cobby frame and strong limbs and paws. Short tail. His coat was just great for the smoke contrasts and with the correct percentage of undercoat to top, but he was moulting a little now.

Handsome chap with lovely long face with elegant looks. Expressive green eyes that were so alert. Dense black coat that was in fab condition. Loved his curly tail!! In excellent condition.

1 MC PRATTS DEXTER SH BLACK 11 months

Loved this young man he has such lovely sleek body lines and very regal head! Large ears and eyes. Dense black very close lying coat that had a lovely feel to it. I predict a great future for Dexter!! 2 no 30 cannot find his name Older boy with a very gentle nature. Nice bright eyes and nature. He was just starting to moult a bit and showing a few scattered white hairs. Sweet to handle.

Very sweet gentle girl with a most attractive expression. Lovely head with quite neat ears! Generous and kind eyes that were very bright and alert. Very solid but not at all overweight! Very well shown dense black coat.

GINGER CAT OF ANY PATTERN OR TORTOISESHELL OR TORTIE TABBY WITH/WITHOUT WHITE

A headache here as I loved them both!

1 MC TALBOYS ORLANDO SH GINGER TABBY 2 years 1 month

This boy eventually won on the richness of his coat colouring an amazing warmth of colour and fantastic tabby patterning with arrow head spots so attractive. Super nature too!!

2 WEBBS PURRCY SH RED AND WHITE 10 months

How I loved this boys expression and so innocent at his tender age!! Super to handle and so well presented, he is going to be a very large person, already very solid in build, a real picture!

I met Sam a few weeks ago and have nothing further to add to the wonderful cat that he is, I love his face and green eyes and as for his presentation, my admiration to his adoring owner Mrs Plant. He looked a complete picture.

What a wonderful girl, so suiting of her name I think. She was doing virtual handstands on our table she was that pleased to be judged!! Shown in tip top condition with super coat and sparkling white mittens!! Just a dream and wonderful condition for her age. AC ADULT OR KITTEN 1 LEWIS GMC & UMC PEBBLES For 13 years of age this cat is amazing!! Just stunning and he just knows it! Fabulous character in wonderful condition and just defied me not to give him first!

I think this cat is just what it is all about, what an amazing girl in both looks and temperament. How does her owner ever get anything done at home because she is a total timewaster!! Stunning looks with those eyes that just melt you! I am still picturing her in my mind as I type this she has made such an impression on me.
