KENTISH CAT SOCIETY SHOW 16TH OCTOBER 2010 JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLEN

My thanks to Helen, Sean and the committee for my invitation to judge at the show this year. A lovely show with that spooky feel running right the way through! I thoroughly enjoyed the day with some quality felines too!

RED SELF ADULT

BOB ONLY ANGUS GR CH ANSTEYN RED HOTCHILLIPEPPER 14.6.08

A mature very nicely balanced male, super coat colour really rich red colouring. Very happy to give him the best of breed.

AC TORTOISESHELL COLOURPOINT ADULT

1 CC BOB STANDENS MARISHA AMOUR SHASHA 13B6 25.6.08

Overall a pleasing exhibit. Braod top of hea diwth neat, well set ears. Round eyes, pale in colour but a sound tone of blue. Short nose with good break and leather. Full cheeks. Firm chin and acceptable bite. Cobby frame with nice weight and sturdy short limbs. Short, plumy tail. Her body coat was rather shaded but clearing from the roots. Her points matched well, and I felt the hall lighting and her positioning in the hall was probably responsible for making the red colouring appear paler than it may well have been. A little bit nervous to handle but well presented and most worthy of a CC.

My all time favourite girl, her coat is in top condition at the moment and full of evenly distributed shades of vibrant reds contrasting against the density of the black. She is just my cup of tea and it was my pleasure to award her best Persian later in the day!

I have handled this lovely exhibit on several occasions and he is looking particularly good at the moment. Very well presented and well worthy of his BOB award.

BLUE-CREAM NEUTER

This girl is just so uptight I could not linger long on assessing her but overall a pleasing exhibit. Reasonable top of head and quite neat ears. Round, sound orange eyes. Medium length nose with decent break. Her cheeks were quite wide, I would prefer more width to her lower face. Bite and chin acceptable. Large, well filled frame with short, sturdy legs. Short, full tail. Her coat colouring is very nice, pale and well mingled. Groomed well shame she is such a madam!!

Recently commented on at the Longhair and a very pleasing exhibit. I particularly liked his coat and the contrasts are really amazing hence me giving him the BOB over Elijah n the day.

Large, well grown exhibit. Large ears that were set reasonably high on his head, I hope they do not go any lower with maturity. Pleasing balance to his head. Adequate sized eyes nicely set. Shallow concave curve in profile with quite a firm chin. Pleasing square muzzle. Long body that was very well filled!! Long super boning to his legs. Very long tail that was nicely furnished. Well shown coat showing various length. Good to handle.

Well grown young lady with quite a broad rounded head, her ears of medium size just need to be spaced a little further apart. Almost round eyes, medium in size and a medium blue tone. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Promising length of body and nice weight and good boning to her medium length legs. Her paws were short and strong. Her tail was bushy and in proportion to her body length, just a little brindled on the day. Her coat was soft and silky with the length developing. Her seal mask was showing nice dark seal already, her legs were still a paler tone. Her white gloves were a little below the angle of paw and leg but evenly marked just dipping slightly to the inside. White socks covered the entire back paw and her gauntlets tapered up the back of the leg to just below the point of hock. Well shown and good to handle.

BLUE POINT BIRMAN KITTEN

1 BOB GRIFFITHS ROZINELLA JENICOL-ARABELLA 10.4.10

Pleasing young lady with a broad, rounded skull. Slightly large ears but set apart on her skull. Rounded cheeks that tapered to a well formed muzzle and adequate chin. Almost round eyes that were sound mid blue in colour. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Long body that had good substance. Medium length legs that were well boned with strong short paws. Her bushy tail balanced her body. Her mask was a sound blue/grey tone. Her legs a shade paler as yet. Her silky body coat was a bluish white with good length developing. Her gloves were white to the angle between paw and leg. The white extending to the stopper pad on the left. Fully white socks and her gauntlets tapered to ¾ up the back to the hock. Very well shown.

2 GENTRYS RONMARIES GRISIALGLAS 13c2 24.4.10

A smaller framed girl. Quite a broad head with rounded cheeks tapering to a muzzle that could have been slightly fuller and a stronger chin Slightly large ears placed a little high on her skull as yet. Almost round eyes with sound mid blue colour. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Long body that was of good weight. Medium length legs with strong, short paws. Quite a bushy tail that balanced her body. Her points colour was a not as evenly developed as the winner and her legs were pale in tone as yet. Her body was blue white in tone, the length was still rather lacking but of good silky texture. Her gloves were white to the crease with the right one showing white to the stopper pad. Her socks were white and the gauntlets were medium in length but a little blunt. I felt her feet were a little grubby and generally she could have benefitted from a more finish in the show preparation.

3 FINCHS SNOWWITCH SNOW CLOUD 18.6.10

The baby of the class and such a sweet baby. Quite good breadth to her head and skull developing. Fairly full cheeks with the rounded contours developing and quite a firm chin. There was such appeal in her expression . On the day I felt her ears were rather on top of her head and rather dominated the balance. Almost round eyes with a lovely typical birman expression and a very nice tone of blue developing from the centre. Medium length nose with slight dip but for me dropped of a little at the end. Although young she did have a lovely weight and substance to her promising body shape. Pleasing blue-grey points markings, quite even for her age, but her mask not complete yet being much paler around her whisker pads. Well boned medium length limbs and short strong paws. Her coat was still rather a kitten texture but with promising silky feel developing. Tail in proportion and developing the bushy texture. Her white gloves were a little low with a small amount of white on the inner toe of each. White socks covering the back paws, Medium length gauntlets that were not quite matching and a little blunt. So sweet to handle and well shown.

1 HAWKES ZENITH JEMIMA 13

Very nicely balanced head and type overall. Well set ears, round sound orange eyes and short nose, for me her nose leather could be larger. Wide cheeks, acceptable bite and chin. Cobby frame with short legs and tail. Her coat was well shown but a shade darker in both the blue and cream than I personally prefer.

Very nice young lady with super balance to her head. Blue tabby limited to her head and tail. Her body coat was a little fly away in texture but well shown and sweet to handle.

Cute baby with very round head and wide skull and neat well set ears. Round eyes with the colour still changing. Short nose with decent leather and nostrils. Wide cheeks. Good mouth and chin. Coby frame with short tail. Short legs and round paws. Mainly black coat that was very well shown and quite sound for her age. Cute white inverted chevron to her face. Very confident baby.

2 ALASKAN MISS MONEYPENNY

Tiny baby who needs time to widen in her head structure. Cobby structure covered in a full almost sound mid blue coat. A

1 TONKS ZENDIQUE WHEN’LL IBEFAMOUS 70 12a1t

Very well grown kitten, round head and very nicely balanced type. Very large, round eyes colour still changing but looking a promising orange tone. Large frame with excellent weight. Short, well boned limbs. Short, rounded tail. I loved his coat texture, full of life and standing away from his body well. Classic tabby pattern was very clearly defined and interspersed with sparkling white patches. Very self assured young man.

2 COOKES FIRANTY FELICIA 12 1

Another quality kitten with such an appealing expression. Round head, just a little head bump at present. Round eyes with colour still settling. Short nose wide cheeks. Good bite and chin. Her frame was short and stocky with short limbs and tail. Her coat was mainly white with clearly defined patches of red and black. Very well shown.

1 SAUNDERS PR MYSTERE TURBULENCE 1

Another stunning exhibit from the dynamic duo of Saunders and Hunt!! A really promising young exhibit who makes me go weak at the knees he really does. I loved him as a small kitten and all that promise has been fulfilled and more. The most wonderful head and balance with owl like copper eyes widely spaced. Broad head with neat low set ears. Short snub nose wide cheeks with great bite and balancing chin. His body was heavy and stocky with short, fat legs and a short, full tail. His coat was still coming in but dense black and so well groomed. I really love this boy.

2 DANIELS PR MOONWALKERS THEPURRMINATOR 70 12a1s

I do not think I have ever seen this boy look better, he has very nicely balanced head with well set quite neat ears. Round, orange eyes well set. Short nose with fat cheeks. Good bite and firm chin. Quite a cobby frame with fairly short legs. Short, rounded tail. It was the quality of his smoke coat that put him into second place, it was so clear at the roots and he was very well shown. Well done a very good second in top quality competition.

I did like this young man very much, such an elegant appealing look about him. Beautiful equilateral triangle head with eyes and ears following the lines of his head. Large ears set well on his head. Expressive eyes that were large. Virtually straight profile with super chin in balance. Long frame that was well filled and super tail that balanced very nicely. His coat was not overly long but very clearly showing the double texture with lovely coarse top coat and a developing woolly under coat. Well shown and lovely to handle.

Very appealing young lady!! I particularly liked her markings, being symmetrical on her head and fully coloured and ringed tail and a clear chalk white coat elsewhere!

Really stylish young lady with triangular head and long straight profile with super depth of chin to balance. Expressive eyes, obliquely set and good size. Large ears with high placement and following the lines of the head completely. Very well boned long limbs and super body weight. Her coat was well shown and showing the double coat with dense woolly undercoat and good development of glossy coarser top coat. She had a lovely full ruff and knickerbockers. Very eye catching exhibit.

2 FENWICK-RAVENS NAMRIB ILIANA TANZINITE 13c2 26.10.09

This young male had the most wonderful size and substance for his age. He also has super broad, rounded skull with full cheeks tapering to a strong muzzle and chin. Medium sized ears spaced well apart on his head. Almost round mid blue eyes. Medium length nose with a very slight dip in profile I would just like it a little more defined. Long body that was very well filled and medium well boned limbs with strong short paws. His bushy tail balanced his body very well. Very well shown coat that was silky in texture and of good length especially around his ruff. Matching blue/grey points. His feet were well marked with tapering gauntlets to ¾ way up his back legs. Lovely boy to handle.

I loved this young man not only does he have very nicely developed head and type the temperament was delightful! Super balanced head with large, well placed ears. Expressive eyes slightly obliquely set with great size. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile and super depth to chin. Lovely square muzzle. Very well developed long frame with long, well boned strong limbs. Long well furnished tail to finish! His coat was so well shown and displaying good contrasts. Very well show and so confident.

2 ALLENS TISANTI BETSY BUTTONS 13c10 31.03.10

A very pleasing young lady with very nicely developed breadth and roundness to her skull. Medium sized ears well set apart on her head. Almost round deep blue eyes. Rounded cheeks that taper to a nicely developing muzzle and chin. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Long body that had lovely weight and tone to it and medium length well boned legs. Strong, short paws. Bushy tail developing that balanced her body length well. Her points colouring was developing with her mask more well defined than other points as yet but both colours evident everywhere. Her feet markings were very good, her right glove being slightly lower than the left, her socks covered the entire back paws and her gauntlets tapered up to just below the point of hock. Excellent presentation.

It was so lovely to judge this mature, super typed exhibit. Lovely breadth to her skull with rounded cheeks tapering to a well developed muzzle and chin. Medium sized ears well set apart on her skull. Almost round mid blue eyes that were so expressive and of good size. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Very well filled long body with lovely tone and substance. Medium length legs with super boning and short, strong paws. Very bushy tail that balanced her body nicely. Strongly coloured dense seal points that contrasted nicely with the beige body colouring with the desired golden hue across her shoulders and back. Silky in texture. Her feet markings were very good. Her gloves were just below the angle of paw and leg but even, her socks were white across the whole back paw and her gauntlets tapered slightly to just below the point of hock. An overall stylish mature girl who was just lovely to handle too.

Mature lad who looked just the part today, lovely balanced head and type. Very well shown coat with super points colouring and so even. A real pleasure to behold.

2 BEACONS GR PR GLEDEKATT FENJA 67 31t

I often admire this mature girl as she is very balanced facially. I do just think that she and Bruni are perhaps carrying a little excess weight that just detracts slightly on the elegance front. However they are both beautiful examples of the breed with very well developed coats too.
