SHROPSHIRE CAT CLUB SHOW 6TH FEBRUARY 2010 JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLENMy thanks to Janet and Jill for a lovely show and for my invitation to judge. I had a great day with some lovely cats and with Anna McEntee as my steward all went on oiled wheels! TORTOISESHELL ADULT1 CC BOB SMITHS CH BESSJET TIGERLILY 9/4/08A very stylish cat with very nice head and type. Broad top with neat well spaced ears. Round copper coloured eyes. Short nose with good leather and nostrils, wide cheeks and a good bite and firm chin. Cobby frame with stocky legs and a short, full tail. Her coat colouring was a little on the red side but was showing some patches of both red and black among some other more slightly mingled areas. A very pretty girl who was shown very well. TORTIE AND WHITE ADULTGRIFFITHS NYKLANI FREYA OFJUBIL 28/3/09Very attractive young lady with lovely round head. Well spaced ears, just a little bit pricked on the day. Round large copper eyes with black eyeliner around one eye. Short nose with good leather and nostrils. Full fat cheeks. Good bite and strong chin. I did find her lower face was just a little bit dished when in profile but did not detract from the overall balance. Cobby frame with good body weight. Her coat was very well shown and excellent texture. Mainly her patching was very nice, on her back however the black did predominate and I would have liked just a little more clarity of her patches on the lower back. She was towards the maximum expression for colour, the white being either side of her mouth, bib and on all four feet with a small amount on her tummy. Very well shown and a most attractive exhibit. BLUE/LILAC/CREAM ETC SHADED AND TIPPED CAMEO ADULT1 CC BOB VAN HEUMANS CH HIGHSPOT HARMONY 52f 23/6/07A pretty and balanced mature exhibit. Very nice head and type with round head and well placed quite neat ears. Round eyes of sound copper colouring. Short nose with adequate leather and nostrils. Full cheeks. Slightly undershot and a firm chin. Her cobby frame was covered in a coat that showed clear contrast, in places down her back the tipping was a little heavier, I consider probably due to the time of year and it being old coat. Well shown and handled nicely. PEWTER/BLUE PEWTER ADULT1 CC BOB HALLIDAYS CH DALLIHAY ARTICGEM 53 15/5/08I really liked this female, super head and type with lovely round skull and neat low set ears. Round eyes that it was a real effort to get her to open them! Just a little bit of staining under them. Short snub nose with full fat cheeks. Nice bite and firm chin. Cobby, stocky body with short, fat legs. Short, full tail. Her coat was very well shown and showing a definite mantle. A most attractive exhibit one of the nicest pewters I have seen for sometime. AC TABBY BI OR TRI COLOUR KITTEN INTERMEDIATE1 BRITTLETONS LADYGEM TUDOR ROSE 12a1t 12/7/09I just fell in love with this little girl, she is a real gem and such a lovely temperament as well. Round head with nicely balanced type. Just a very slight dip in her skull but nothing to cause concern. Round nice copper eyes developing. Short nose with fat cheeks. Good bite and chin. Cobby frame with lovely boning and weight. Wonderful classic tabby patterning with such clarity, albeit interspersed with white, the butterfly well evident on her shoulder and distinct oysters on her sides. Her short tail was well ringed. Super texture and condition a really lovely baby. BLUE POINT KITTEN MALE1 DELANEYS DEENLAY SEULETUNIQUE 13c2 13/8/09A very well grown exhibit. Strong, broad skull with medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Full, rounded cheeks, tapering to a nicely developing muzzle and firm chin. Medium sized ears that were set well apart. Almost round eyes with a deep blue colour. Long body with lovely body weight and substance. Medium length legs with lovely boning and short strong paws. Bushy tail in proportion to his body. Quite a long and silky coat with quite a full ruff. Blue grey mask and tail with his legs just a shade lighter at the moment his body colour a bluish white in tone and so well shown. His gloves were pure white to just below the angle of the paw and leg but on the left glove it dipped more to the inside and his inner toe was half coloured. White socks covering the entire back paw and his matching gauntlets tapered up the back of the hock to just below ¾ of the way to his hock. A lovely young boy to handle with great presence. 2 HORTONS NAMRIB ILIANA TANZANITE 13c2 26/10/09A real baby in comparison as yet. Fairly broad skull, needing to develop more width as he grows. Medium length nose with a slight dip in profile. His cheeks need a little more width as does his muzzle. Medium size ears with some width between them again needing to broaden further as his head develops. Almost round eyes of a sound mid blue in colour. Promising length of body with good weight and his tail in proportion to his body, developing the bushy furnishing. Blue grey mask with his tail and legs still developing their colour. Bluish white body colouring with quite a short coat but with a nice silky feel developing. His gloves were white to the angle of the paw and legs just dipping slightly to the inside on both legs. Pure white socks and his gauntlets were white to over half way up the hock and slightly tapering. Well shown and a confident young man. 3 KEEPINGS BAYGAZER MCTAV’S SON 13c2 26/6/09Such a large, well grown laid back chap who temperament was just wonderful! His head was broad and round. Medium length rather roman nosed with slight dip. Full cheeks tapering to quite a nice round muzzle and chin. His ears were medium in size but rather upright on his head. Small eyes that were pale blue in colour. Super long well muscled body with medium length legs and short, strong paws. His tail was bushy and in proportion to his body in length. Quite a long coat that was silky in texture. His blue grey points were very tabbied and there were ghost stripes on his legs and tail. His body colouring was also rather an unsound colour. His white gloves were just below the angle of paw and leg and dipped to the inside. White socks covered the back paws and his gauntlets were uneven with the right being blunt at the end and the left one was more sliced right across the back of the leg rather than tapering. However he was very well shown and a pleasure to handle. BLUE POINT KITTEN FEMALE1 BOB INSTONES KITTAH HECUBA 13c2 16/6/09It was lovely to meet her again from her baby days at the Longhair show in October. She has developed extremely well in those four months and her skull is broad and rounded. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Full rounded cheeks tapering to a nicely developed muzzle and a firm chin. Almost round eyes that were a deep blue in colour and very expressive. Medium size ears set well apart on her head. Very well grown body with good substance and tone. Medium length legs with nice boning and strong, round paws. Her tail was bushy and in proportion to her body. Very well shown silky texture coat of bluish white colour. Her points were a blue grey in tone and well matching. Her gloves were pure white and just below the angle of paw and leg, just stopping below the stopper pad on the left paw. Pure white socks and her gauntlets were to ¾ up the hock, the left one with a small hook to the inside but still on the back of the leg, the right one tapering nicely. 2 BROWNS DALTEEMA SAFIRE 13c2 20/10/09A real baby by comparison but a very well grown confident baby with very promising head type. Quite a broad round skull with medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Cheeks developing in width tapering to her muzzle with quite a firm chin. Almost round eyes with a sound mid blue colour. Her body was long with nice body weight and medium length legs and short, strong paws. Her tail still needed to develop the bushy look but was proportionate to her body. Her coat was still developing but had a promising silky texture developing and was bluish white in tone. Her points were quite a pale shade of blue with the colouring developing on her legs and tail. Her feet markings were very good with her gloves white to the crease of the paw and leg with the white to the stopper pad at rear. Pure white socks and her gauntlets to ¾ way up her hock and tapering slightly. 3 BROWNS DALTEEMA OPHELLIA 13c2 20/10/09Litter sister to Safire and similar in many respects however I felt she did not quite have the width of skull as yet. Generally her skull and cheeks needed a little more width, medium length nose with slight dip in profile and slightly dropping off at the end. Slightly weak chin. Almost round eyes with the blue developing from the pupil. Medium size ears needed to broaden and set further apart as her head develops. Quite a long body with medium length legs and short paws. Her tail needing to develop its furnishing but in proportion to body in length. Short, soft kitten coat that was a bluish/white in colour. Her points colour showed good definition of blue/grey colour. Her gloves were just a little low in the white did not quite reach the crease between paw and leg. Pure white socks covering her back paws and the gauntlets were white and tapering to ¾ of the way up her hock. Well shown and still very much the baby. AC PERSIAN SELF NON BREEDERS NEUTER1 WHITES GR CH & GR PR SHARISHIMA THE GOV’NOR 4Very nice mature lad with broad top of head and very neat ears set low on his skull. Round copper eyes with short nose and very wide full cheeks. Nice bite and chin. Massive frame with lovely boning. Short, full tail. Very rich red coat colour that was groomed to perfection. AC PERSIAN NON SELF NON BREEDERS NEUTER1 CASES CH GEMKIN JAZZY JASPER 12a5A very attractive male with strong, balanced type. Wide top with well set neat ears. Smooth skull with large copper eyes. Short nose with wide cheeks. Slightly undershot bite and a firm chin. Another large framed boy with great boning. Short full tail. His coat was around 50 50 for colour to white split, the white on his face, bib, tummy and all four legs. Very well shown. 2 EDWARDS PR DELEVALE ROSEBUD 12a7A very mature lady and not quite in the league of Jasper. Her brow being rather heavy overshadowing her eyes that were pale in colour now probably due to her age. Fairly short nose with quite wide cheeks. Acceptable bite and chin. Her coat was mainly dark, shady cream with patches of white that in all needed a little more show presentation to do her justice. AV SLH BREEDERS ADULT MALE1 THOMPSONS FORMONA MISTA MURRAY 13c4 9 mthsI judged this young man last month at Notts and Derby and sadly he was not overly happy again today. However he did allow us to handle him long enough to assess him fully. Very well grown young adult with a strong, broad skull. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Full, round cheeks tapering to a well developed muzzle and chin. Almost round sound mid blue eyes. Ears a little on the large side but well spaced apart on his skull. Long, large body that had very nice substance. Medium length, well boned legs with strong short paws. Pinkish grey points with nice warmth to the colour and a silky long body coat of off white magnolia that was very nicely groomed. His gloves were pure white and to the angle of the paw and leg, just dipping very slightly to the inner side. Nicely marked socks and slightly tapering gauntlets finishing just below the point of hock. 2 DAVIES CARRISMOON AUTUMN GLOW 13c5 9 mthsSimilar age to Mista Murray but not as mature looking. He had quite a broad strong skull with medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Quite large ears that needed to be a little more widely set. Almost round eyes of a paler tone of blue. Full cheeks and quite a firm chin. His body was long but needing to develop more substance as yet. Medium length limbs with short paws. Bushy tail in proportion to his body. The body coat was soft and silky and pale cream with orange points to mask, legs and tail. His gloves were low and a little scalloped with some colour encroaching onto his toes, the left one I suspected a runner past the stopper pad. White socks with gauntlets quite well marked and tapering to just below the hock. 3 JONES CH GROOVICATS KOKOMO 4 years 5 mthsAV SLH BREEDERS ADULT FEMALE PART 1a really lovely class of top quality. 1 KEEPINGS BAYGAZER SELESTE 13c1 10 mthsOnly a young female but one of great promise. Lovely broad, rounded skull with medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Full, rounded cheeks that tapered to a well developed muzzle and chin. Medium sized ears well set apart on her skull. Almost round deep blue eyes with such expression. Her body was long and very well developed with medium length limbs of lovely boning and short, strong paws. Her tail was in proportion to her body and very bushy. Dense, seal points well matching and with a lovely beige body colouring with silky texture and very well shown. Her feet markings were also very nice with the gloves white to the angle between paw and leg, pure white socks and her gauntlets tapering to 3/4 of the way up to the point of hock. I felt this girl had the overall best balanced type and development of physique hence my giving her first in this class. 2 THOMPSONS FORMONA LOOBYLOU 13c16 9 mthsA most attractive young female with very pleasing broad rounded skull. Medium length nose with sight dip in profile with full, round cheeks tapering to a well developed muzzle and chin. Medium size ears that were set well apart on her skull. Almost round deep blue eyes that were very expressive. Well developed, long body with super substance, medium length legs with short paws. Bushy tail in proportion to her body. Silky, long coat of lovely fawn colour and texture and so well shown. Her points colouring was also very well developed with both the tabby patterning and the seal and shades of red colouring evident on all her points. Her feet markings were also very good with her gloves just below the angle of paw and leg, nice socks and her gauntlets were quite well matched and tapering to just over half way up her hock. The most wonderful temperament a lovely cat to handle and assess. This lady for me was second as she had the edge of maturity on type to Brooke. 3 BAXTERS ELMARLAY BABBLING BROOKE 13c10 12 monthsA very stylish exhibit with a lovely rounded skull. Medium length nose with pink leather and with slight dip in profile. Full cheeks that tapered to a well developed muzzle and quite firm chin. Medium size ears that were set well apart on her skull. Almost round sound blue eyes. Long body of good weight and bushy tail in proportion to her body. Medium length nicely boned limbs with short, rounded paws. Long silky coat that was off white in colour and nicely groomed. Delicately coloured points colouring that were warm lilac in tone mingled with tones of light and dark cream, showing on her mask, legs and tail. Her gloves were slightly below the angle of paw and leg, well marked socks and matching tapering gauntlets to just below the point of hock. Such a hard decision to place these three, I liked them all! AV SLH BREEDERS ADULT FEMALE PART 21 GRANTS VANAHEIM PHAEDRA 67 22a 12 mthsI really liked this young female, she really looked the part on the day. Very nice equilateral triangle head with large, well set ears. Obliquely set eyes that were full and expressive. Straight profile with super firm chin. Long body and super length to her tail. Her coat was just lovely with wonderful texture and with the desired double texture. Very well shown and so good to handle. 2 FISHLOCK-LOMAXS CH ADETELO REINE LA CHATEAU 67 31ets 1yr 8 mthsI have handled this young lady several times and admire her head and type too. Today she was placed second as her coat was not the quality of Phaedras, lacking the true density and double texture I would also like a shade more depth to her chin for full facial balance. But otherwise she too is a lovely example of the breed. X2 SYMONDS RADZIMIERZ TAMARA 82 20eLovely Siberian with amazing coat quality and texture. 3 SAVILLES INT CH ISHCUS MELISA 64 41ewx3 HILLMANS VALLEYCAT MERRI-MELODY 66 9 mthsAV SLH NOVICE KITTEN1 BLADES ALISKA MANHATTAN DREAMS 64 41ew 20 weeksA very stylish young lady with very nice head and type. Quite a broad head with high cheeks and high set ears. Expressive bold slightly obliquely set eyes. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile, nice perpendicular line from nose to chin. Quite a good square muzzle. Long body and tail with substantial long legs. Beautifully shown excellent texture coat with vibrant colours and nice definition to both patching and classic tabby markings. I am sure with maturity that her head and muzzle will fill out just that bit further. 2 DALTEEMA SAFIRE3 HAYNES ISHCUS AMELIA 64 41ew 5 mths
