LONGHAIRED AND SEMI LONGHAIRED CAT CLUB 2. OCTOBER 2010 JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLEN

My thanks to Carol, Ron and the committee for their kind invitation to judge again this year, one of my favourite shows. I was so grateful to Simone Ensor for stepping in to steward for me we had a great day together and I really hope she can steward for me again soon.

AC NON SELF PERSIAN CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE

1 GR CC TAYLORS CH CONFETICAT JELLY BEAN 13b8 5.6.09

Eyecatching young lady with very nicely balanced head and type. Broad head with neat, low set ears. Round eyes of reasonable size and colour. Full cheeks, wide and flowing with good bite and chin. Cobby frame with nice weight. Short, stocky legs. Short, full tail. Her coat was very well shown and the points showing both blue and shades of cream. Handled well and my pleasure to give her the Grand on the day.

BROWN, BLUE CHOCOLATE OR LILAC TABBY KITTEN

A very cute little chap with very nice head and type developing, sadly his mouth was very offset so could not give him any higher award.

RED, CREAM OR TORTIE TABBY KITTEN

Litter sister to the boy and very similar type and disposition. Attractive head with very promising breadth of head and neat ears. Round eyes that were slightly sore, probably due to teething. Short nose with wide cheeks. Her bite was straight but her teeth were currently misaligned. My reason for withholding Best of Breed, I do hope with her new teeth they come through correctly. Full coat that covered her cobby frame with promising classic markings. The colour and the shades of red developing throughout. Very well shown.

Super little man who we both found hard to put back!! Round head and neat, widely spaced ears. Smooth skull with round eyes still developing their blue colour. Short upturned nose with wide cheeks. Good bite and firm chin. Cobby, squat body so well filled and short stocky legs and rounded paws. Short tail nicely furnished. His body coat was glacial white and the blue points on his mask and tail well developed, the legs as one would expect a little slower to develop. Full marks for grooming, gorgeous baby!!

A very well grown exhibit with rounded head and widely spaced ears. Round eyes with sound orange colour. Short nose with nice leather and nostrils. Wide cheeks. Good bite and firm chin. Quite a cobby frame with super body weight and tone. Well boned limbs and paws. Short, rounded tail to finish! I liked his coat texture so much and he was presented perfectly. Very attractive colouring with the silver contrasts.

Very pleasing young man with very nicely balanced head length to width. Large upright ears with lovely furnishings. Expressive large eyes slightly obliquely set. Shallow concave curve in profile with firm chin forming the perpendicular line from nose to chin. Long body and tail and so well developed for his age! Long legs with thick boning and powerful paws. His coat was very well marked with clear classic tabby patterning, the only thing I would comment on is that his head colour was a different tone to his body. I wonder if this could be a developmental phase he is going through. None the less a super boy in excellent condition.

Sorry to withhold on this male but for me he was very heavily tarnished and that is such an important thing in silver Somalis.

Very well grown kitten with very nice head and type. Flat plane between medium sized ears that were widely set. Nice breadth of head developing with well developed cheeks. Muzzle round and firm chin with level bite. Level bite with firm chin. Large, well oened blue eyes. Long body with nice weight. Medium length legs with large, round paws. Long bushy tail . His coat was of silky texture and developing nice length ruff and knickerbockers coming well! Pleasing beige tone. His points were developing a really strong seal brown tone, his legs just a shade or two paler as yet. Very striking youngster overall.

2 BENNETT AND NORFOR PURRMAN OBERON 13c11 26.5.10

Pleasing young man with a nice broad rounded skull developing with medium sized ears well spaced apart on his head. Almost round eyes with the blue colouring developing from the centre. Quite full cheeks tapering to a firm muzzle and adequate chin. His body was long with very pleasing weight for his age and his coat was very silky with pleasing tone of beige and the slight hint of the golden hue across his shoulders. Medium, well boned legs and strong short paws. His tail was in proportion to his body and developing the bushyness. Well defined tabby points with the seal brown markings standing out well from the paler brown agouti background. The tabby patterning on his mask ws very clear with a very clear M on his forehead, spectacle markings around his eyes and spotted whisker pads. His tail was nicely defined with rings as were his legs. His gloves were well matched as were his socks that covered the whole back feet. His left gauntlet was slightly shorter than the right but both tapered up the back of the hock to approximately ¾ to the point of hock. Very well presented and confident young man.

A lovely mature serene lady in the most wonderful condition. Very broad, round head with medium sized ears spaced well apart on her skull. Broad, full cheeks tapering to a firm well developed muzzle and chin. Almost round sound blue eyes. Medium length nose with slight dip to profile. Long body with super tone and weight. Medium length limbs with short, strong paws. Medium length bushy tail. Her body coat was silky in texture and fawn in colouring and so well shown with a full ruff around her neck. Her points were evenly matched and showing the tabby pattern with the tortie colouring of seal and shades of dark and light red overlaying it. The distribution of the tortie colouring to also be very even over her points. Her feet markings were good with her gloves white to the angle between foot and leg. Her left one showed white to the stopper pad. Her white socks covered her back paws and the gauntlets tapered to approximately ¾ up to the point of hock. The right one was more difficult to asses as the tortie colouring was encroaching slightly around the white marking. Very well shown exhibit who was very confident and a pleasure to judge.

2 WOODMANS ADNIOLO AIRIEFAERIE 13c11 29.7.09

Another very nice exhibit who still has some growing and maturing to do. Broad, rounded head with slightly large ears that were well set apart on her skull. Full cheeks that tapered to a well developed muzzle, I would like a slightly stronger chin to balance. Almost round eyes that were a lovely deep blue in colour. Almost round eyes that were the most lovely deep blue in colour. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile but also with a slight bump. Quite long in the body with a good weight for her age. Medium length legs with good boning and short, strong paws. Bushy tail that balanced her body. Her body was a pale beige colour and the texture silky. Her points were seal brown with paler agouti background. Showing the M to forehead, spectacles around her eyes and spotted whisker pads. Her legs and tail both showed distinct rings. Her feet were well marked with gloves to the angle of paw and legs, socks that covered her back paws and gauntlets that tapered slightly to half way up to the point of hock. However, they could have been cleaner to really do her full justice.

1 CANNS JOMANEI DESERT SUNSET 60 31ft 18.8.09

A lovely ragamuffin delightful to handle. Very broad head with moderate length and super rounded contours. Puffed whisker pads. His nose had the desired break at the bridge and harmonious to the forehead and beyond. Chin full an dnicely developed. Well set ears that were medium in size and silted slightly forward. Large, expressive eyes well spaced giving that sweet expression. His body was so well developed and rectangular in shape with super chest and broad shoulders. I loved his fleshy pad!! Well furnished tail balancing the body. Very well boned limbs. His coat was medium in length and plush to the feel. Very well shown and such a lovely nature to handle.
