GCCF SUPREME SHOW 21ST NOVEMBER 2009 JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLEN

My thanks and admiration to Celia and the team for staging such a successful show this year and of course to my dream team of Anna McEntee my senior steward along with Carol Tonks and Caroline Bailey-Read for keeping me on task and for brilliant handling of the exhibits!! It was truly a highlight to be part of the Supreme Exhibit panel, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and send congratulations to each and every one of the winning cats I had the honour of handling – such a brilliant achievement all round.

BLUE PERSIAN PRE CHAMION FEMALE

1CC HUDSONS ORBIS SERAFINA 25.8.08

Rather a small immature young lady as yet but on the balance of everything I felt she deserved the CC on the day. I am sure with another few months development she will be a very pleasing more balanced young lady.

AOC SELF PERSIAN IMPERIAL OR GRAND CHAMPION MALE

UK GR STEWARDS IGR CH LAZANE ON CLOUD NINE 2a 8.6.07

I find this male to be one of the nicest of the breed that I have handled recently. Beautifully balanced male with super head and type. In good coat that was sparkling white and shown to perfection.

ORANGE EYED WHITE PERSIAN PRE CHAMPION MALE

Very mature male with basically very nice head and type but not in show condition on the day, needing far more preparation in such prestigious company.

RED SELF PERSIAN CHAMPION MALE

The same applied to this male, a very nice exhibit let down in the presentation and grooming.

AC SILVER TABBY PERSIAN KITTEN FEMALE

Cute little box on legs!! Very pleasing head and type with super body conformation and in full coat. Outgoing personality and one to watch I feel sure.

RED OR CREAM TABBY PERSIAN KITTEN MALE

This young boy just defied me to put him back, he was such a confident little chap oozing charm and quality!! Super type and balance with stocky frame and lovely boning. In full coat that was groomed to perfection and showing evidence of tabby patterning developing. Wonderful personality, a real show off!!

BLACK OR BLUE SELF PERSIAN IMPERIAL OR GRAND PREMIER MALE

A fabulous, mature exhibit who really looked the part on the day. Very nicely balanced head and type along with a cobby frame covered in a full, dense black coat that was so well groomed. He looked very much the complete package.

2 WOODMANS GR CH & GR PR CHERRUTI BLUE SUEDEMEWS 28.4.00

An old stager this boy who was not looking up to the mark on the day being very short of coat. He does have very nicely balanced head and type but with the shortness of his coat he really was not in contention for the top award on the day.

four lovely kittens to choose from.

1BOB WOODCOCKS BEARDWOOD LEONARDO DAVINCI 64 41w 28.2.09

Very well grown young man just a little reserved. Large, well held ears with grat tufts and tips. High cheek bones. Large, expressive eyes. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve and firm chin in profile. Super square muzzle. Log well filled frame with long, well furnished tail to balance. Long substantial boning to his legs with strong round paws. Well show coat with great warm ground colouring and good pattern definition. Show in lovely condition.

2 WOODS COONARIA COOL RUNNINGS 64 41w 28.3.09

Another in great condition and so well grown for his age. Large well furnished ears set high on his head but with correct space between. Large eyes, well set and very expressive. Broad nose of uniform width and shallow concave curve in profile but for me just drops off a little at the end. Generally I would like his head to be a little broader for balance. Long body and tail with lovely depth to his chest. Long substantial legs with powerful round paws. His coat was a lkittle short but with nice texture and very well defined patterning. Pristine white areas.

3 BURGESS COONARIA EL CAPTAIN 64 41 23.4.09

Attractive young man in wonderful condition. Nice length to width balance to his head. Large, high set ears with great furnishing, set well onto his skull. Expressive eyes that were correctly set and large in size. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile. Good depth of chin and quite a strong muzzle. Long body and tail with excellent boning to his legs. Super warm colour to his classic tabby patterning. A super relaxed confident kitten.

4 CHANTS SHEERCLASS BLUE BUZZBY 64 41aw 13.5.09

I liked this kitten as well and would especially like to comment on the wonderful definition of his blue classic tabby patterning, it was truly lovely. Another very promising kitten, the baby of the class and my only criticism is that I feel he needs more time to broaden in his head to balance the length. He was a very pleasing lad and I am sure with maturity he will come into balance.

BROWN OR BLUE TABBY OR TABBY AND WHITE MAINE COON KITTEN FEMALE

1 NICHOLSONS MAINENEWS POCOHONTAS 64 41 16.5.09 Young innocent look to this young lady!! She needs a little more time to develop the width to her head. Quite large ears set high on her head. Very shallow concave curve to her nose and I would like her muzzle to be stronger and squarer. Quite a long body and tail, needing to muscle up and with a little more body substance. Long body, legs and tail. Her patterning was as yet a touch cold in colour and diffused in pattern. She was very well shown and handled extremely well.

AOC MAINE COON KITTEN MALE

1 YAHESKA NIAGRA FALLS 64 31 30.3.09

Very well grown chap with nice breadth to his head. I did have to persuade him to hold his ears up for me though!! Quite large, expressive eyes. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve. Wide, high cheek bones. I hope that as he matures he develops a little more strength to his muzzle and chin. Very substantial frame long and with super depth. Long tail well furnished and super boning to his long legs. Mainly black coat that was of a thick texture, well groomed. His white areas very clean and sparkling!

1 BOB MCHUGHS FELLPURRS INCA OF LEWSHAN 64 41ew 11.6.09

A most eye catching exhibit shown in fab condition. Well developed head type with large, well furnished ears. Well set. High cheek bones with lovely balance to her head. Large, well set eyes. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile. Firm chin and nice squareness to muzzle. Long body with lovely weight and substance. Long tail and substantial limbs. Wonderful coat for texture, colouring and patterning. So well shown and confident.

2 PEACOCKS COONTASTIC KISS FROM AROSE 64 44ew 6.3.09

I also liked this kitten very much too, so much to commend her, I loved her excellent mackerel stripes so clearly defined coupled with the vibrancy of her tortie patching. Groomed so well it was just a shame that she lost her composure when being judged. I do hope this was just stage fright at the Supreme as she is certainly a very flashy lady!!

3 BURGESS COONARIA SEQUOIA 64 41E 23.4.09

Another quality kitten with so much to commend her, for me her muzzle just needed a tad more width and depth to fully balance but this may well come as she matures. Another with super coat colouring and pattern definition. Well shown and very sweet nature.

4 WAITES OLIROSE TYGER LILY 64 41ew 5.3.09

Pretty confident youngster with very nice width to her head and large, high set ears. Large eyes that were a little on the round side when we judged her, I would suspect caused by the unusual surroundings at Supreme. Her nose had quite a strong curve in profile and the slight bump as well. Another lovely body and tail with good weight. Her coat was quite well defined with strong colouring and reasonable definition to her patterning.

5 CHAPMANS COONTASTIC MELIKAH 64 41ew 28.2.09

Fundamentally a pleasing exhibit but she certainly did not do her self justice on the day, she was not at all enjoying the experience and did not show herself to advantage.

6 CROOKS BEARDWOOD KATE GREENAWAY 64 41e 28.2.09

Another exhibit not as relaxed as she could have been. Generally needing a bit more time to develop the balance required to her head type. She was looking a little short in the head length on the day and needing more chin to balance the lower half of her face as well. Lovely body and tail. Very well shown and nice warmth to her colouring.

USUAL SOMALI KITTEN MALE

Delightful young man with truly lovely Somali features and such a super smile! Pleasing coat with really warm colouring and beautiful ticking and heels. Super confident young man and real congratulations on his best of variety SLH kitten award.

SORREL SOMALI KITTEN FEMALE

1 BOB BULLIVANT BARANCHRI HATHOR 63a 21.4.09

Very stylish, feminine young lady. Very nice head and type. Very nicely built with real elegance to her frame and appearance. Sadly the hall lighting did nothing for her coat colouring but I could see it was a rich, warm tone and the ticking was also very evident. Well shown and a lovely temperament as well.
