JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLEN

My thanks to Carol Pike and the committee for their kind invitation to judge at this very friendly show. I had a wonderful time. Lucy Lockyer stewarded for me and did a fantastic job, for a first timer Lucy you are a complete natural! My thanks also for the original judges present it will come in so handy!

TABBY AND WHITE NFC ADULT MALE

1 BOB DAYS OLD POSSUMS OBAN 67 31t 18.8.08

Very stylish young adult with triangular head shape. Large ears perhaps set just a little closely together at the moment but I am sure that with further maturity will broaden to the outer angles of his head. Expressive eyes that were large and oval in shape and following the lines of his head. Virtually straight nose in profile with good height to forehead and very nice depth of chin. Long, well muscled body standing high on legs, the hind ones being slightly longer than fore and with round well tufted paws. Long tail that was well furnished and bushy reaching to his shoulder blades. His double coat was very nice and with a thick, woolly undercoat and there was evidence of the coarser, glossy guard hairs. I particularly liked his full ruff and knickerbockers in fact he was in exceptional coat for the season and very well presented. A promising, confident young man who showed himself very well.

1 MANSELLS FORESTSHADOW CHLOE 67 31ats 18.4.08

This young lady was full of elegance and presence and was more than willing to share it with us! Triangular head shape that was just a little longer than broad at present. Large ears well furnished and open at base and quite widely set. Large, oval eyes that were following the lines of her head. Straight profile but I would have preferred it not to have been quite so broad at the bridge as it just spoilt the elegance of her head slightly. She had a super depth of chin. For her tender age she had lovely substance and tone to the development to her long body and limbs. Showing the typical NFC stance high on legs and with tufted paws. Her coat was lacking a little of the woolly undercoat due to the season and there was some nice coarser, glossy guardhairs. She was beautifully shown and in very nice condition.

2 TIGANLEA VISCOUNTESS BREANNA 67 31et 9.9.08

Younger female with overall very nice type just a little more shy and retiring than Chloe. Triangular head with all sides equal, fairly large ears widely set and open at base. I would have liked her eyes to have been a little larger but they were oval in shape and quite expressive. A very slight dip to her nose in profile and her chin was just a little weaker, but she is only 10 months so this may well develop further as she matures. Long body that was of good weight and her legs were nicely boned with round, tufted paws. Long, bushy tail that reached to her shoulder blades. Her coat had moulted but there was evidence of some woolly undercoat and some coarser, glossy guard hairs towards her lower back. Just needing a touch more finish to her show preparation to do her total justice.

HERMONS CH ADFURLO AISLING 67 31t 6.4.04

Very stylish mature female with very nice triangular head shape. Large, wide set ears that were open at base and well furnished. Large, oval eyes that are just amazingly expressive and so alert. Virtually straight profile and good depth of chin to balance. Long body that was of substantial weight. Standing high on her legs giving the typical NFC stance. Long, bushy tail. Her coat was her only downfall on the day as it had moulted and just did not give her the finished look, hence my decision to award BOB to the open male Oban. However, she was showing the desired double coat and there was evidence of a woolly undercoat and some coarser, glossy guard hairs. She just needs a little more time to grow it back to its full glory. Lovely girl to handle and well shown.

KESTLES I GR CH COSCATHAS LEO 67 31t 28.4.04

Large, mature male in very nice condition. Large, broad, quite short triangular head which with his very mature development made him look just a little rounded in the head. Fairly large ears widely set on his head. Pleasing height of forehead. Almost straight profile but the weakness of his chin made the lower half of his face unbalanced. Long, deep body with long bushy tail. His coat was of the desired double consistency but lacking a little on the desired coarse, glossy top coat at present. Well presented and very gentle to handle.

1 BOB HUDSONS CLEASANTA OSKAR 67 20 21.5.07

Well grown mature exhibit. Triangular head with large ears that were open at base and widely set. Large oval eyes nicely set and following the lines of his head. Virtually straight profile with quite a strong depth of chin. Large frame that was extremely well fed! Long tail that was nicely furnished. Very thick woolly undercoat, his top coat have the glossy , coarse guard hairs. Well shown and good to handle.

1 HERMONS TUYET ISEABAL 67 18 6.8.05

Sweet mature exhibit. Slightly longer triangular (isosceles) face shape with large ears widely set on her skull. Pale hazel eyes, oval in shape and following the lines of her head quite well. A very slight dip in her profile and her chin was a little weak to fully balance her face. Long, deep body with nice boning and with typical NFC stance. Long tail well furnished. Coat had very thick woolly undercoat but just lacked the desired coarser top coat at the moment.

AC JUNIOR ADULT

1 FISHLOCK-LOMAX ADATELO PENNY PARFAIR D’AMOUR 67 31gt 15.4.08

I do think this girl and her litter sister are both silver. Very elegant self opinionated young lady! Very nicely defined triangular head shape with her large ears widely set on her head. Straight profile with nice depth of chin balancing well. Large, oval well opened eyes that follow the lines of her head. Long body with substantial limbs and a typical NFC stance with the hind legs slightly longer than the fore legs. Long, nicely furnished tail. Very well shown coat that had the desired double texture with woolly undercoat and glossy, harsher guard hairs.

2 FISHLOCK-LOMAX ADATELO REINE LA CHATEAU 67 31gt 15.4.08

Litter sister to Penny and in many ways very similar in type, perhaps not quite the elegance of Penny but with very pleasing triangular head shape with large well space ears. Expressive large, oval shaped eyes. Virtually straight profile and a good depth of chin to balance. Long body with nicely boned legs. Long tail to balance her body. Her coat was not as good as Penny’s lacking a little in the undercoat but she was very well shown and showing definite glossy, coarser guard hairs. 3 FORESTSHADOW CHLOE 67 31ats

AV VISITORS KITTEN a really lovely class of super kittens

What an eye catching youngster! Lovely triangular head shape with large ears open at base and nicely set on his skull. Virtually straight profile with a good depth of chin already. Very appealing oval blue eyes that were obliquely set. Long body and tail balancing well. Super boning of his long legs and with that desired NFC stance. Lovely double texture of his coat, especially the thickness of his undercoat. Very self possessed young man shown in super condition.

2 MALMGREN ZELANDONII GALADRIEL 67 31a 19.3.09

Very sweet young lady with super expression. Triangular head with large ears well set on her skull. Very expressive eyes that were oval in shape and obliquely set. Very slight dip in her profile at the moment and with a decent depth of chin to balance already. Long body and good length of tail with cute white tip at end! Her coat was very nicely shown and still a bit soft in texture but there were signs of the top guard hairs developing.

Very relaxed young man with equilateral triangle shaped head with large open ears widely set on his head. Almost straight profile with good depth of chin to balance. Large, expressive oval eyes that were nicely set following the lines of his head. Very well grown long body that was deep and well muscled. Long well furnished tail. Excellent coat that was thick and woolly with a very nice glossy, coarser top coat. Super ruff and knickerbockers and so well presented.
