THE LONGHAIRED AND SEMI-LONGHAIRED CAT CLUB SHOW 3 OCTOBER 2009 JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLENThanks to Carol, Ron and the committee for my invitation to judge again this year, I do love this show it has always held a special place in my heart. Thanks so much to Sally Tokens for sharing John Blore with me when my original steward was not able come. I even got a marked catalogue – what more can a girl ask for!!!! Thanks again John. AC NON SELF PERSIAN PREMIER NEUTER MALEGR PR MEADOWS CH & PR YOONEEK WISHUPONA STAR (6)Pleasing very laid back exhibit of 3 years of age. Wide top of head with neat ears well set apart on rounded skull. Round eyes of nice sound orange quite bold and set wide apart. Full cheeks. Short nose with good leather and nostrils. Acceptable bite and firm chin. Cobby well filled frame with short, stockl legs and a short, full tail to finish. His coat was sporting clear contrasts of the correct proportions, I would just have liked to see his mask denser but as it is early in the season this may well develop further. Well shown and sweet to handle. Res withheld2 CORCORANS PR JISTEIL SUNSHINE SUPERMAN 12a7Sorry to withhold on this exhibit but I felt he was rather lightweight and generally lacking in condition and preparation. Quite nice head and type but very pale eye colour. His coat was quite full and long but just did not sparkle and look the finished article. AC NON SELF PERSIAN PREMIER NEUTER FEMALEGR PR PARKES GR CH & PR LADYGEM IN MYDREAMS 12 1A cat that I have admired previously and I felt that today despite her slightly pale eye colour she looked pristine and deserved her grand certificate. Gentle and so sweet to handle. AC PERSIAN ARISTOCRAT NEUTER1 W/H 2 PR JISTEIL SUNSHINE SUPERMAN 3 KNIGHTS RISETTA CHAOS 13b12I loved the head and type of this cat and was really genuinely upset to find that he tips his tongue and his mouth was more undershot than I could accept hence his placing. BLUE POINT BIRMAN KITTEN1 BOB SEMOS PRIDNJOY BLUEBELLE 13c2 21.2.09An eye catching exhibit with a lovely personality and disposition. Broad, rounded head and skull. Medium sized ears quite widely spaced on her head. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile and good depth to chin to balance her head. Almost round, large eyes that were a sound, deep blue in colour. Long body of good weight and substance and bushy tail in balance to her frame. Medium length legs that were well boned and with round, strong paws. Silky coat with ruff developing. Her points colouring developing well, her mask still to completely develop around her whisker pads and chin. Pure white gloves that were symmetrical and ending across the paw at the angle with the leg. Her socks again pure white and covering the entire paw. Her gauntlets slightly tapering up the hind legs finishing just below the hock. Super show preparation. 2 ENSORS KITTAH HECUBA 13c2 16.6.09Much younger kitten with super character and confidence! Broad rounded head developing. Medium size ears set apart on her skull. Medium length nose with shallow dip in profile. Her cheeks were fairly full just a little pinched on her lower muzzle as yet. Almost round eyes with a nice blue colour developing. Nice weight and promising length to her body. Medium length legs with nice boning and round strong paws. Bushy tail that was proportionate in length to her body. Pleasing blueish white body colouring, the length still to develop but of nice silky feel. Her points were also developing on her legs compared to her mask but they were bluegrey in tone. Her gloves were generally well marked, the right one dipping inwards slightly. White socks covering the entire paw. Her gauntlets were to the point of hock but not completely tapering. Very nicely shown. AV SLH DEBUTANTE ADULT FEMALE1 HERBST CANONNA WEEPING WILLOW 63dEighteen month old female with a pleasing expression. Large high set ears, and quite well apart, nicely cupped. Moderate wedge, with gentle contours. Pale amber coloured almond shaped eyes which were set quite obliquely. Her nose has a slight break and nice rise to the forehead. Chin quite firm and of good depth. Medium sized body, with nice muscular tone and lithe. Elegant long limbs, oval feet with tufts between the toes. Tail in proportion to the body, it was nicely furnished and tapering slightly towards the tip. Medium length coat, soft and dense, lying flat along the spine. Well marked head and heels, slightly darker line along the spineline and top of tail. The body was very well ticked with lilac, silvery white base evident underneath. I did feel that she had some tarnishing to the head and limbs, but she did overall give me the impression of a silver cat, and she was shown 2 ALLENS ELMCOON FIREBIRD 64 41dwClassic Red Tabby & White. Eleven months old , well balanced for her age. Head of good length to breadth and her cheeks quite full and a developing square muzzle. Large ears, set correct width apart on the head, with nice furnishings. Large pale green eyes, set well and of nice shape. Her nose only showed a very shallow concave curve. Firm chin giving a nice perpendicular line from her nose to chin. Long, well boned limbs and paws, very nice rectangular shape to the body, long tail, very well furnished and flowing. Ruff around the neck developing, coat short over the shoulders, developing over the body with good texture. Clearly marked classic pattern, quite a warm shade of red to the markings. White to chin, chest, tummy and limbs. Nicely shown. AV SLH NON BREEDERS KITTEN MALE1 GILLMANS MABALAK ROTHKO 64 41w 23.2.09Stylish young man with fantastic ear size, well places and high set and with the most impressive eye furnishings and tufts and tips! Super head width to length developing. Large, slightly obliquely set eyes with high cheeks. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile and very promising square muzzle and firm chin. Long well filled body with super long well furnished tail. Long limbs with super boning. Excellent presentation with nice tabby classic patterning developing against sparkling white, I just hope that his back breaks a bit with some pattern as at present it is completely solid. 2 JORDAN-LOMBARD & LOMBARD-JORDANS PHAT PAWS MY WICKED WAY 66 29.4.09Another very pleasing kitten with such elegance about him. Broad head developing with flat plane. Medium sized ears with nice width between them and slightly tilting forward. Cheeks developing well with a firm chin and level bite. Large, well opened eyes slightly obliquely set. Definite retrousse tip in profile. Long well filled body developing with broad chest. Medium length limbs well boned with large, round paws. Long tail that was developing its bushyness. Silky texture coat with ruff and knickerbockers developing. Nice points colour of greyblue set against the body colour of blueish white. Very well shown and very good to handle. 3 NORTONS NORSKWOOD PURRNICKETY 67 20 4.3.09AV SLH NON BREEDERS KITTEN FEMALE1 DODDS RAGPUS STAR 66at 18.3.09Very appealing young lady. Broad head developing nicely with flat plane between medium sized ears and slightly tilting forward. Cheeks developing well with a firm chin and level bite. Large, well opened eyes slightly obliquely set and sound blue in colour. Definite retrousse tip to her nose in profile.Long well filled body developing with broad chest. Medium length limbs well boned with large, round paws. Long bushy tail that was balancing her body well. Silky texture coat with ruff and knickerbockers still developing. Well defined points colour with clear blue tabby markings on light beige agouti ground colour and set against the body colour of blueish white. Very well shown and very good to handle. 2 FLEMMINGS COONTASTIC RIVER SONG 64 41gw 10.3.09Classic Blue Tortie-Tabby & White. A very well grown pleasing strong head of medium length with good breadth for age. Quite full cheeks and high cheek bones. Large ears, set high, nicely furnished with tips and tufts. Slightly obliquely set green eyes, set well apart and large in size. Shallow concave curve to her uniform width nose. Square muzzle, firm chin. Lovely long body, very good rectangular shape, large bone to legs strong feet. Long tail, very well furnished and reaching the shoulders. Full coat, very well developed ruff and breeches, coat shorter over the shoulders and longer on the sides of her body. I placed her second in this class as I would question her colour as there was alot of silver colour at the base of both the blue and cream areas of the body and head, making me think she might be a blue silver tortie tabby and white. It will be interesting to see how that coat colouring develops as she matures further. 3 JORDAN-LOMBARD & LOMBARD-JORDANS PHAT PAWS BLUE PASSION 66aAV SLH NON BREEDERS NEUTER MALE1 STANTONS GR PR AZERPASHAN BOBBY DAZZLER 66aBlue Colourpointed Ragdoll. Large and very well balanced exhibit. Very pleasing head shape, with flat plane between medium sized ears. Medium length nose with retrousse tip. Large, almost round mid blue eyes. Well boned, substantial long rectangular body and strong boning to medium length legs, large round paws. Long bushy tail reaching the shoulders. Greyish blue points, showing contrast with the blue white body colour. Medium length coat, dense and silky, some ruff and quite well developed knickerbockers. I felt overall that his coat was not quite full, yet to develop his full winter coat. Nevertheless he was very well shown and lovely to handle as ever. 2 FLEMMINGS GR PR COONTASTIC DANCING BRAVE 64 31tLooking very lovely today with good head and type. In full coat that was very well shown and good to handle. 3 TRICKETTS GLEDEKATT WIBLAFR 67 18AV SLH NON BREEDERS NEUTER FEMALETRICKETTS GLEDEKATT SKULD 67 31tsRather a short triangular headshape. Fairly large ears that were high set and quite widely spaced on her skull. Slight dip in her profile, and lacking balance as her chin was rather weak. Her nose was rather broad across the bridge, therefore lacking slightly the typical elegance of the NFC expression. Her eyes were slightly oval in shape but not quite following the lines of her head. At present her body and tail could do with being slightly longer. Well boned limbs that were proportionate to her body. Her coat was lacking on the woolly undercoat along her back, but was coming through nicely on her flanks. The longer, coarser glossy top coat was coming through along her back. Well shown and very nice to handle.
