GCCF SUPREME SHOW 20 NOVEMBER 2010 JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLEN

My thanks to Celia and the Supreme committee for the kind invitation to judge again at the show this year. I always enjoy the day and the ring judging is something I thoroughly enjoy. My thanks to my super stewards, Anna McEntee, Carol Tonks and Caroline Bailey-Read they worked really hard especially with the very sizeable Maine Coon neuters – I did tell them to have three Shredded Wheat for breakfast!!!

AC SILVER TABBY OR TABBY AND WHITE MAINE COON KITTEN MALE

1 CLAYSONS LYNDONGRAEY KENTUCKY 64 41s 29.3.10

A most impressive young man with very promising head type with good length to width balance. Large well set ears with good furnishings. Expressive slightly obliquely set eyes. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve and good perpendicular line to firm chin. Square muzzle and level bite. Long, deep body with excellent weight. Long well boned legs and a full, long tail. Superb coat texture with lovely clarity of classic patterning, just a little solid on his back and a very small amount of tarnishing on his nose. A very confident, well presented boy.

2 CHAPMANS COONTASTIC FREDERICO 64 41fsw 19.3.10

Another very well grown chap with nicely developing head type. I just felt Kentucky had the edge at the moment on the refinement of type. Very well put together young man long well filled body and limbs, his tail was barely long enough to balance his frame. Very well shown and good to handle.

AC SILVER TABBY OR TABBY AND WHITE MAINE COON KITTEN FEMALE

1 AND BOB MURRAYS ISADORYOU LIGHTNING BUG 64 41esw 13.3.10

ÓVery eyecatching young lady with such style. Very nice head balance with everything in moderation and nicely balanced. Well set large ears with lovely tufts and tips. Expressive slightly obliquely set eyes. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile and very nicely formed square muzzle and a firm chin. Long body with lovely weight and substance. Long well boned legs and sizeable paws. Long, very well furnished tail. Her coat was just perfection for both presentation as well as patterning and colour. Fabulous personality too just made her the complete picture on the day, and my best of breed kitten.

2 CHADWICKS MOONENCIA SHISHI GASHIRA 64 41dsw 26.4.10

Not the bravest of babies on the day but a very promising young lady indeed! I think she was holding her ears rather widely but in view of her nerves this may well have contributed to this, apart from that she is a very nicely put together kitten with considerable promise.

3 KASSARO CASIEN MOONMISSY 64 41sw 22.5.10

The real baby of the class but oozing confidence and enjoyed the experience! This little girl just needs more time to develop the width on her cheeks and head. Super eyes and nice shallow concave curve to her nose. She also needs a bit more strength on her muzzle and chin again sure this will come with time. Pleasing body and tail. Her coat was slightly diffused in patterning and needing to further develop the density of colouring but overall another promising baby. Well shown.

for best of breed only

BEST OF BREED AWARDED TO RABYS SUP UK & IMP GR PR DAIRYMAINE SARNIA CHERIE 64 20e 27.3.04

AC SILVER TABBY OR AOC MAINE COON IMPERIAL OR GRAND PREMIER MALE

what a class three stunning exhibits.

UK GR PR BUNCES CH IMP GR PR KEVERSTONE COONAWARRA 64 31dt 22.12.00

This boy just had everything for me on the day and stood out in this class. Very good head type with nicely balanced head. Large ears well set on his head. Expressive eyes wellset and great size. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve. Super square muzzle and firm chin. Long body retaining superb condition and tone. Long legs with excellent boning. Long tail that was well furnished. He totally defied his actual age, such a credit to his owners. It made my day to find out later that this award made him up to UK Grand Premier well done all!

2 NEWMANS IMP GR PR DAIRYMAINE KASABIEN 64 19 3.8.06

There was very little to choose between these two, Kababien also is a most impressive exhibit, in fact enormous in stature but in no way overweight just loads of quality. I liked his head structure and balance again lovely muzzle and chin. I had to really be picky to decide on the placings and it was just the slightly stronger tabby patterning that decided me but boy what a class to judge. Super presentation and super cat!

3 MCGURKS GR PR DOTCOM IMONFIRE 64 44dw 10.10.07

Rarely would one find two such quality Coons to judge, but in fact I had three in the same class and I feel that this lad’s nerves played a part in his placing today. Another overall super exhibit but his ear set was his bête noir today, nothing we could do would move them and that was all I could find to separate them. Full marks for coat and condition and presentation.

AC SILVER TABBY OR AOC MAINE COON IMPERIAL OR GRAND PREMIER FEMALE

UK GR PR BUNCES IMP GR PR KEVERSTONE CLEMENTINE 64 31et 11.2.07

Oh the colouring of this girls coat was just stunning! I thought the richness and vibrancy of her coat was truly wonderful. A little nervous but with this girl it was no detriment to her expression at all. Superb balance and type coupled with the coat colouring and texture gave her the top placing and earning her the UK Grand title too! Bet there were some celebrations at the Bunce household later!!!

2 NEWMANS IMP GR PR DAIRYMAINE CASCADE 64 31et 11.12.04

Hardlines to meet Clementine, this girl too does have top quality appeal. Overall very nice type and balance coupled with super body and frame. I just felt she needed a little more finish to her presentation to really make the difference in this tip top award.

3 ELSONS CH & IMP GR PR CONFLAKES LEGENDOFTHEFALL 64 31et 11.8.04

Another pleasingly typed exhibit with very nice head balance. Again her coat was her slight downfall today as it lacked finish and vibrancy to the tortie colouring. Guess just not her time of the year and in such top quality a tough decision for me never the less.

AC SILVER TABBY OR TABBY AND WHITE MAINE COON PREMIER MALE

GR PR HOLDENS PR WISCASSET LOOTAH 64 41ds 19.6.08

A very pleasing chap with broad head and large, well set ears. Expressive slightly obliquely set eyes. Medium length nose with shallow concave curve in profile. Nice squareness to muzzle and firm chin. Very large body and long tail with super clarity to the classic tabby patterning and displaying a lovely silver undercoat. Well shown.

2 HANCOCKS PR JULESCOON SMIRNOFF ICE 64 41as 2.11.07

This boy had such a fun time!! He really played to the audience! Nice head type with just a fraction more width to his cheeks for perfect balance needed. Expressive eyes and large, well set ears. Square muzzle with nice firm chin. Lovely long body and tail with excellent patterning and colouring, minimal tarnishing on his face and legs. Very well shown.

3 MCQUILLKINS PR NORACOON GORGEOUS GEORGE 64 41ds 22.7.08

A lovely typed boy with very nice head type. On the day his coat really did lack the silver element with very little contrast evident. Very relaxed and confident exhibit.

AC SILVER TABBY OR TABBY AND WHITE MAINE COON PREMIER FEMALE

GR PR FLEMINGS PR COONTASTIC RIVER SONG 64 41gsw 10.3.09

Still very young in comparison but with very nicely developed head and type. Large, well set ears with good furnishings. Expressive large eyes that were slightly obliquely set. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve and a firm chin and square muzzle. Long body with good weight and long well boned limbs. Tail long and proportionate to her body. Her coat was very nicely patched with tones of cream and blue with silver contrasting well. Good clarity of tabby patterning too and very nicely shown.

2 HARLING & RICHARDSONS PR JACKSONTAILS TITCHITOT 64 18e 5.5.06

Just a little worried about it all on the day but she held it together very well! Pleasing head and type, for me she just lacked a little strength to her lower head and muzzle and that rather threw the overall balance. Long body and tail with great boning and strong paws. She could have had more silver definition to her coat and her patterning was a little diffused too. Well shown.

AOC MAINE COON PREMIER MALE

GR PR BERGMANS PR SOMERSISLE THEODORE 64 36 22.8.08

I have given this boy a premier before I think, I thought he looked very nice today with super head and balance coupled with a very nice coat colouring with very distinct smoke contrasts and good length. He had the overall balance for me on the day.

2 MCQUILKIN PR MABALAKAT WITCH KING 64 36 10.1.08

I also liked this boy very much and appreciated his head type. However for me his coat although long and well shown just did not have the clarity of contrasts of Theodore and this was my only reason for the placings.

3 POBGEES PR YAHESKA ARCTIC WARRIOR 64 14c 6.11.08

Stylish white boy groomed so well and virtually sparkled in the pen. However something had really spooked him and I had to get him back in his pen rather unceremoniously not something I like to do but felt it the best for his safety. He is a lovely boy with super head and type. My only slight misgiving is his slightly untidy dentition, apart from that he is a super lad. I hope that getting him back out afterwards left him with a positive experience of the day.

AOC MAINE COON PREMIER FEMALE

GR PR DAWES PR EMPURRER MYSTIQUE 64 41gw

Just a little short of coat on the day but along in the class and well worthy of her placing. Good head with large upright ears but with required space between them. Large expressive eyes. Nice wide, high cheek bones. Quite a firm square muzzle and chin. Long body and good limbs. Long tail to finish. Very good clarity to her classic tabby patterning and well shown.

AOC MAINE COON PRE PREMIER MALE

PR BLADES ALISIKA DEVIL INDISGUISE 64 31s 28.12.09

Only a youngster but I really liked him a lot! Very promising balance with super width to his cheeks and high set cheek bones. Expressive large correctly set eyes. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile and a lovely perpendicular line to a firm chin and good bite. Super squareness to his muzzle. Long body and tail and exceptionally well grown. Super coat of lovely lengths and texture with really sharp contrasts and sparkling white areas. Lovely disposition as well I look forward to seeing his future progress.

2 HOLDENS WISCASSET JAK FROST 64 14b 26.11.09

Not overly happy at being handled today as there was a lot going on by the time we got to judge him. Pleasing head type with large, well set ears. Wide high cheeks but he needs to continue to broaden to complete the balance of his head completely. Large expressive eyes and a uniform width nose with shallow concave curve. He needs more strength to the muzzle and chin. Lovely long wel filled body and long well furnished tail. Long legs with very good boning. Full coat that was very well shown, always a challenge for white cats (and the owners!!!) I am sure that as he is also very young that he will continue to fill out as the months go by!

AOC MAINE COON PRE PREMIER FEMALE

Pr HARLING AND RICHARDSONS BRILTHOR BARTLOEE 64 16 3.1.10

Another young exhibit with lovely presentation but I do feel with some developing still to go! Quite a broad head with high cheek bones and decent width to length balance. Her ears were a little widely set but of good size. Expressive eyes and a uniform width nose with shallow concave curve. I would also like a firmer chin and more strength around her muzzle. Her body was just about long enough and her tail balanced her frame. In full coat with full furnishings around her head. Very well presented and pleasing to handle, I hope she continues to develop her head type.

2 HOOTONS JAMCUSA ALMA RETTO 64 44g 27.3.09

This lady was rather shy but very sweet to handle. Generally quite nice head and type with wide cheeks and high set cheek bones. Expressive eyes that were large and correctly set. Uniform width nose with shallow concave curve in profile. She needs more squareness to her muzzle and I was sad to discover that she was slightly undershot. Long body and tail with lovely weight and substance. Very well shown with pleasing colour distribution and good clarity to patterning.
