Another really enjoyable Christmas show organised so well by Anne, Brian, Shelagh and Kit along with the tremendous committee of Maidstone and Medway!!
Jo Clements came to steward for me and we had a wonderful time and both myself and the cats benefitted from Jo’s excellent handling and empathy with the exhibits.
I had the most difficult task of deciding on the Semi Longhair Christmas Cracker – I really found this so challenging (and enjoyable!) and later found out that not only did I have the Supreme winner but the National Cat of the Year too along with a stunning little tortie tabby birman kitten!
A fantastic end to the year, thanks to everyone for such an enjoyable alternative to last minute Christmas shopping!!!

This was a wonderful way to start the day and caused me quite a few headaches! I eventually decided on the bi colour for the grand. Wonderful head and facial balance so harmoniously put together. Wide top with neat, low set ears. Smooth skull. Round, copper eyes set wide apart to give that clean open eyed expression. Short nose with good leather and nostrils. Wide cheeks. Good bite and chin. Cobby frame with stocky, short legs. Short, full plumed blue tail. His coat was full and mainly pure white with blue patches to his head, one body patch. Immacuately groomed and very good to handle.

I really liked this cat as well, he too has wonderful head and type with strong features harmoniously balanced. Wide top and smooth skull. Well placed ears that were a little more generous than the winner. Round, large deep orange eyes. Short nose with wide cheeks. Good bite and chin. Cobby frame that could have been slightly larger to balance his very large head. Stocky short limbs. Short, rounded tail to finish. His coat was dense, and stood away from his body. My preference would be for a more distinctive patterning to be evident, hopefully this will develop as the season progresses.

I just love the look of this female, coupled with a very nicely coloured and contrasting coat she has wonderfully balanced yet great strength to her head type. Round face and skull with ears set low on her skull. Round eyes of deep copper. Short nose with wide cheeks. Good bite and chin. Cobby frame with short, thick legs. Short full tail to complete the picture. Her coat was of good length and showing reds and black throughout, also with a very clear almost white undercoat of correct proportions. So well shown and lovely to handle. I was pleased to give her the grand today.

Another exhibit that I have admired since kittenhood and she has developed into a very lovely adult. Round head and very nicely typed face. Smooth skull and well set neatish ears. Round, orange eyes. Short nose, with wide cheeks. Nice bite and chin. Cobby well filled frame with short, thick limbs. Short tail in balance. Her coat was full and predominantly white with good clear patches of red and black throughout. Well shown.

Sorry to withhold on this very lovely female, it was not the fact that her tooth was broken but rather the fact that her teeth were grinding when I checked her bite. She is a most attractive exhibit with a very nice coat.

Nice head and type with wide top and neat, well spaced ears. Almost round eyes that were of adequate size and both of good colour. Short nose with wide cheeks. Firm chin. Cobby well filled frame with short legs and tail. In full coat that was quite well shown but the slight staining on her face and tail just spoilt the overall look for me.

I was very pleased to give the very nice male his IC today. Broad top of head with quite neat well set ears. Round, smooth skull. Round eyes of very nice deep orange. Short nose with wide cheeks. God bite and firm chin. Large frame that was cobby and substantial and supported by sort, stocky limbs. Short, well furnished fully coloured and ringed tail. Very nearly maximum expression of colour with the tabby on his head and with small patches of colour on his otherwise sparkling white body colouring. In full coat and groomed so well no mean feat with a boy!!!

Well grown young lady with promising head and type. Very broad top with neat ears. Round copper coloured eyes. Short nose with wide cheeks. Good bite and firm chin. Stocky frame and sturdy short legs. Short, full tail. Well patched body that was mainly showing pastel tones of blue and cream, the white restricted to her face, bib, paws and body. Generally well shown but with some stray white hairs in the coloured patches.

Five years old and a very nicely balanced open typed lass. Nice top of head with well set ears. Round orange eyes. Short nose with wide cheeks. Nice bite and quite a firm chin. Cobby frame with lovely body weight. Sturdy boning and short tail to finish. I loved her coat that was so well groomed and pastel tones of blue and cream throughout to her extremities.

Very well grown lad with super expression that was wide and flat with very nice balance. Smooth skull with nicely set slightly large ears as yet. Large, round eyes of nice orange colour. Short nose with good leather and nostrils. Wide cheeks. Good bite and firm chin. Cobby and compact frame with short legs and nice boning. Short rounded end to his tail. His coat texture was really dense and standing away well, and sparkling white, the blue tabby patches on his head with one on his body and a fully coloured and ringed tail. Very sweet to handle.

I was really pleased to re acquaint myself with her again. She has matured into a very fine exhibit with large, upright ears with correct width between. Nice furnishings. Expressive large eyes that were slightly obliquely set. High, wide cheek bones. Slight shallow concave curve to profile and nice squareness to her muzzle. Long body and tail that was of nice weight. Substantial limbs with powerful, tufted paws. Her coat was really very well groomed and showed wonderful clarity of classic patterning and a really warm tone along with excellent texture.

A very well grown, confident kitten. Promising head type with triangular head shape, slightly isosceles triangle at the moment. Large ears with good width at the base and good furnishings following the lines of his face. Very nice eyes, large and obliquely set and very alert in expression. Long straight profile from nose to forehead. I did feel that his nose was perhaps a little broad across the nose bridge at the moment just detracting slightly from the overall elegance of his otherwise very pleasing head.Nice depth of chin to balance his expression. I really did appreciate the body and conformation of this kiten, strongly put together with long body with good depth. Solid bone structure to his long legs, and lovely muscular feel to him. Long bushy tail nicely furnished . His coat was still developing but there was definite evidence of the double coat developing with nice woolly undercoat covered by smoother glossy guard hairs on his back, sides and tail. The real resistance being felt from his shoulders backwards. Very nicely shown and super temperament.

Another well grown mature kitten triangular head shape a little longer in length than breadth at present. Long straight profile extending from forehead to nose. Medium sized ears that were well set and nicely furnished and following the lines of his head. Large, obliquely set eyes that were alert and expressive. Slightly weak on the chin as yet. Promising body and build standing high on long legs with nice boning. His tail was long and nicely furnished. His coat was thick and dense with the glossy top coat coming through well and evident on back, sides and tail. Well shown and nice to handle.
3 COMERS ZELANDONII MITHRANDIRA 67 31a 15.4.08 Blue and white NFC
Another very well developed youngster with a super expression and demeanour! His head shape was completely equilateral in shape with quite large ears set well with good width at base. Nice straight profile, quite a nice depth of chin. His eyes were rather small and slightly deepset .which detracted from his overall head balance. Long and well conditioned body and reasonable length of tail. Long legs with nice boning. Tufted paws. His coat was thick and of nice length, for me a little soft possibly due to the dilute colour. Some glossy top coat developing but overall the feel of his coat was on the soft side. Very well shown and very good to handle.

Almost an adult and I really did deliberate between her and the boy for Best of Breed as she too was a very lovely example of the breed. Triangular head shape with equal length of all three sides. Large ears, well placed on her skull and nicely furnished. Virtually straight profile from forehead to nose. Her chin was slightly weak which detracted from the overall balance a little. Her eyes were large and slightly bold that I think was more due to nerves that anything else as she was at the end of a row and there was a lot going on around her pen! Not an overly large frame but nicely proportioned length and standing high on long legs with reasonable boning. Long tail that was very well furnished.
In full coat that was super length on her ruff and knickerbockers. Thick undercoat with glossy and coarser guard hairs. Very well shown but slightly nervous. My deciding factor on Best of Breed was the slightly better head balance of the male, although I really appreciated the coat quality and texture of this young lady.

Another stylish female with very nice triangular head shape. Quite large ears well furnished and set well apart with good width at base. Almost straight profile with chin that balances her head well, just a little broad across the nose bridge detracting from the refinement of her head. Good eye shape that was slightly deepset. Long body and tail set high on her legs. Good boning and substance. Her coat was developing nicely with thick undercoat and the more glossy and longer top starting to develop on her shoulders and sides. Well shown.

Well grown female with quite a short triangular head shape. Quite large ears that were set well on her head and nicely furnished. Almost straight profile and adequate chin to balance. Her eyes were a little round and not as obliquely set as the others. Long body and tail with nice substance and boning. Long legs with tufted paws. Her coat was developing in length with thick undercoat and the top coat developing well on shoulders and down onto her back and tail. Groomed to perfection and very nice to handle.

A very sweet female with nicely balanced head and type. Quite neat ears set quite low on her skull. Round super colour eyes. Short nose with rather a small nose leather, wide cheeks. Nice bite and chin. Quite a cobby frame and short tail. Nice short legs and good boning. I would have liked her to have had a bit more attention to her final grooming. However she did have a very nice pastel tone of blue to her coat and with minimal shading.

Beautiful chinchilla male with a really wide top of head and neat, low set ears. Round eyes bold and well outlined and a reasonable depth of green. Short nose with brick red leather and nicely outlined. Wide cheeks and good chin. Cobby frame with short, thick legs. Short, full plumed tail. His coat was very full and generally very evenly tipped and just a wonderful job in the grooming department. He really looked a picture.

What more can I say about Cherie that I have not said before!! She was looking very lovely today and has very nicely proportioned head type. Wide and high cheeks with pleasing balance length to width. Shallow concave curve to her nose in profile, lovely squareness to her muzzle. Her coat was excellent texture with vibrant colouring and good clarity of tabby patterning. Massive frame and substance. Long body and tail.

Very attractive exhibit with super flat plane between medium sized ears. Well developed rounded cheeks andmuzzle. Firm chin and level bite. Medium length nose with retrousse tip. Large, well opened expressive eyes of super deep blue colour. Long muscular frame with lovely substance and bone. Nice limbs medium in length with round, firm paws. Long bushy tail. Inverted V to his mask with white bib, chest and underbody. The white on his back limbs extended up to the underbody. Dense seal points that matched well. Very well shown.
