 1. What is Your Name? Mrs Lesley Miles

2. How Long have you been a GCCF Judge? Approximately 20 years 

3. What Sections are you a full judge in? British

4. Are you a probationer judge in any sections and if so which ones? Hoping to go on the Exotic Shorthair List

5. What made you interested in becoming a judge?

6. Do you breed cats as well and if so which breed(s)? British Shorthairs and Exotic Shorthairs

7. Do you show your cat(s)? Yes

8. If you could give one tip to aspiring / new judges or stewards, what would it be ?  Make sure you breed and have had good show results with the breed you wish to judge.

9. Do you have a ‘Day Job’ and if so, what is it?? I work for Tourism South East, the South East Tourist Board

10. What are your favourite Hobbies outside of Cat Showing? I have an MG car, I am a member of various MG car clubs, take the car abroad and do ‘concours’ events

11. Which Cat Show Venue does the Best Lunch? Hard to say.

12. Best cat show moment? When two of my girls got Best British Kitten and Best British Adult at the Essex show last year (2009)

13. Worst cat show moment? Last weekend at the Southern British show when my beautiful british blue girl came 4th out of 4.

14. Funniest Cat Show Moment? Judging the colourpointed kittens at the Supreme show last year. One of the kittens who came 1st actually stood on her head. My brother who is a professional animal photographer took the photo and it is on his websiste.

15. Scariest Cat Show Moment? Taking a beautiful boy called Bazi up onto the stage at the Supreme when I was a probationer judge, he went on to get Best in Show, and did it again 2 weeks later at the National.

16. Best Part of the Cat Show Day? When I show, getting the ‘open’ results.

17. Favourite Cat Show Venue? Difficult to say, probably the nearest to home

18. Favourite Cat Breed? Two I’m afraid. British and Exotics

19. Winter or Summer Cat Shows? Winter, too busy in the summer to ‘do’ shows

20. Any other animals/pets ? 2 tortoises and a shetland pony

21. What part of judging do you enjoy the most? The open classes when there are a lot of cats competing against each other.

22. Can you Recall ever loving a cat or Kitten at a show so much you wanted to put it in your pocket and take it home? If so who and at which show? The little colourpointed boy that I gave 1st & BOB to at the Supreme last year. He went on to become best british kitten overall
