THE ESSEX CAT CLUB, Saturday, 10TH APRIL, 2010

Many thanks go to Helen and the committee of the Essex for the kind invitation to judge. This was a lovely show. My thanks also go to my steward, Phil Cornish, who stepped in to steward for me. Phil I really enjoyed my day and if I can ever repay the compliment I’d look forward to it. Many thanks.

AC PEDIGREE PET MASTER CAT (GRAND CLASS) MALE

1 GR LLOYD MC ARNIE,

Black Smoke 5 years Lovely mature boy with strong bone structure to head and body. Head has excellent features including a strong roman nose and a firm chin. Large round green eyes. Excellent weight. Lovely texture to coat. Mantle quite dark over white undercoat.

AC PEDIGREE PET MASTER CAT (GRAND CLASS) FEMALE

1 GR MILLER MC CLEA-KATRA MILLER,

Blue Tortie & White Sphynx 5 years Lovely lass. Very strong head and facial features. Very good set to ears. Eyes are very expressive. Coat/skin prettily patched cream and blue. Sweet temperament. Like a hot bottle to cuddle.

GRAND PREMIER PERSIAN SELF

1 GR PC STALLINGS GR CH AND GR PR BARRKUDOS KISSME KATE, Black Female (1) (17.07.2000)

What a little corker. Excellent top of head with very neat well placed ears. Large round eyes of an excellent orange colour. Colouring especially good as this lady is almost ten years old. Short broad nose. Level bite. Very good facial balance. Cobby body shape sat low on leg. Legs well formed. Very good length and texture to coat. Coat is not quite as dense in colour as it could be but was very nicely presented. A real pleasure to have this lady to judge.

BLUE ADULT

BOB DAVEY CH BRONABA TABITHA, Female, (14.08.2007)

Very good top of head. Neat well placed ears. Large round eyes. I would prefer them to be a deeper orange shade. Short broad nose. Quite good facial balance.

BI-COLOURED ADULT

BOB SOAVE GR CH LADYGEM CLAUDE MONET, Blue & White Bi-Colour Male (12a2) (24.04.2007)

Stunning blue and white bi-colour. Excellent top of head with very neat well placed ears. Large round bold eyes of a very good orange shade. Excellent facial balance. Strong, sturdy, cobby body with good weight. Fantastic coat for colour and presentation. He has colour to his back legs with a patch of colour to his right flank. A pleasure to handle.

BI-COLOURED KITTEN

1ST & BOB HOWARD FALABELLA BEAUTIFUL SOUTH, Cream & White Bi-Colour – Odd Eyed, Male (25.08.2009)

Very good top of head with very neat well placed ears. Large, round orange and blue eyes. Short broad nose. Strong muzzle and chin. Needs more fullness to his cheeks to achieve facial balance. Excellent body weight and cobby body structure, sat low on short fat legs. Full flowing coat. Very nicely presented. Cream is pale in colour and it is almost sound to the root. He has colour to left legs and to his shoulder.

1ST HANNINGTON AND HARDIE CH SHEERBLISS NEVADA, Red Shaded Silver Bi-Colour Male (70 51dw) (29.09.2007)

Lovely butch lad. Excellent top of head with very neat well placed ears. He has large round eyes of a very good orange colour. Short broad nose. Level bite. Excellent facial balance. Head is sat on a strong well muscled neck. Strong shoulders. Excellent cobby body shape sat low on legs ending in well rounded paws. Short tail which is in balance to his overall body. Coat is dense and plush standing nicely away from his body. Shading to back, lighter to face and legs. Undercoat is silvery white although the tipping does extend a little more than a third of the complete hair length. But he is such a lovely boy that I forgive him for this!

1ST WH 2ND BARRELL BARRKUDOS KEEPSGETTINGBETTER, Black Female (1) (27.06.2009)

Sweet young lady with a very good top of head and neat well placed ears. Large round eyes of a very good orange shade. Short broad nose. Unfortunately she is unable to close her mouth and hence my reason for withholding first. Good facial balance. Body has good weight but is just a smidge rangy. Coat is silky and dense in colour and was very well presented.

TABBY PERSIAN ADULT

1ST WILTCHER KHABAQUI FIRECRACKER, Red Tabby Exotic Female (70 19) (28.04.2007)

Very good top of head with neat well placed ears. Large round eyes which are a little pale in colour. I would also like her to use her eyes more. Short broad nose. Level bite. Good facial balance. Body is a little rangy and lacking substance at present (calling?) Coat is not as dense or plush at it could be. Colour is rich and dense. Markings are a deeper red, and everything required of a classic tabby is present.

TORTOISESHELL PERSIAN ADULT

1ST HOWARD CH FALABELLA MERCIE, (11) (31.03.2008)

Very sweet Tortie lass. Excellent top of head with very neat well placed ears. Large round eyes of a good orange colour. Short broad nose. Level bite. Excellent facial balance. Super cobby body sat low on short fat legs. Tail good length and well furnished. Full flowing soft coat. Coat is nicely patched with shades of red and was very nicely presented.

AC PERSIAN LIMIT KITTEN

1ST BRIND BRONTTI LENNY THE GUVNOR, Seal Tabby Point Male (13b11) (30.10.2009)

Very good top of head with neat well placed ears. Large round eyes. Blue colour still developing. Short broad nose. Level bite. Excellent facial balance. Excellent cobby body shape sat low on short fat legs. Good weight. Wealth of soft full flowing coat. Mask is presenting tabby markings of “M” and lines from eyes. Thumb prints to ears present. He has good bracelets to leg points. Tail rings present too. Body coat is slightly shaded to root but coat was beautifully prepared and presented.

AOC PERSIAN NON-SELF KITTEN

1ST PARKES LADYGEM BLUE VELVET, Blue Tabby and White Bi-Colour Female (12a2t) (22.08.2009)

Sweet baby with an excellent top of head and very neat well placed ears. Large round eyes. Colour is still developing. Short broad nose. Level bite. Strong muzzle and chin. At this time she needs more fullness to her cheeks to achieve facial balance. Body shape is quite cobby and is sat quite low on leg. Tabby markings to face are present – ½ “M” and lines from eyes – all they are diffused. They are also diffused to the tail. This young lady needed far more show preparation.

1ST FLINT BARRKUDOS TOPNOTCH, Black Male Neuter (1) (19.06.2008)

Lovely mature lad with an excellent top of head and very neat well placed ears. He has large round eyes of a good orange shade. Short broad nose. Bite is undershot. Excellent facial balance. Super cobby body sat low on short fat legs. He has a wealth of dense black, soft, flowing cot. Beautifully presented and a pleasure to handle.

CHINCHILLA/PEWTER/GOLDEN/SHADED SILVER NEUTER

1ST PEACHEY IMP GR PR CASHEL HEADBOY, Golden Male Neuter (54) (11.07.2003)

This mature gentleman has an excellent bonnet top of head together with very neat well placed ears. Eyes are large, round, and very expressive; deep emerald green in colour. Eyes outlined in black. Short broad nose. Brick red nose leather outlined in black as is his mouth. Level bite. Excellent facial balance with good width to muzzle. Cobby body sat on short thick legs; back of legs from paw to heel solid dark seal. Coat has a lovely soft fine texture and is long and dense. Undercoat is a rich apricot deepening to gold. Coat is lightly tipped with seal brown. Tail good length and well furnished. Beautifully prepared.

TORTOISESHELL PERSIAN NEUTER

1ST STALLINGS PICTUREBOOK TEMPTRESS, Female Neuter (30.07.2004)

Mature lass with an excellent top of head and every neat well placed ears. She has large round eyes of a good orange colour – colour especially good for her age. Bite is slightly undershot. Excellent facial balance. Cobby body sat low on short fat legs. Tail is a good length and is well furnished. Full, flowing, soft coat. Colours are not quite as vibrant and dense as they could be but she was beautifully prepared and presented.
