LANCASHIRE CAT CLUB JUDGE – Mrs. Barbara Prowse 13/3/2010

Thank you to Chris and her team for the invitation to judge once again at the Lancs. I had a lovely day in the company of Terry White and we handled some very nice exhibits.

AC BIRMAN PREMIER MALE

GRPC MISS J OSBORN’S PR SNOWWITCH SUMMERSTORM (13c2) MN 25/7/08

I had this young man a couple of weeks ago, my opinion has not changed and it was a pleasure to award him a Grand Certificate. Blue Point Male who has lovely balanced Birman type. His body is long and he has good boning. He stands on legs that are medium in length on round firm paws. Skull is broad and rounded with medium sized ears that are well spaced. Rounded muzzle with firm chin and good bite. Medium length to nose with the required dip to profile. Medium blue eyes which are round. Cheeks full and round. Blue grey point’s colour which are matching. Pure white gloves which finish just below the angle of the paws. Gauntlets are medium in length and taper. Pure white socks which are medium in length. Coat is a bluish white, very well prepared, silken in texture. Ruff well developed. Tail is bushy and medium in length. Lovely temperament.

GRPC MRS J WORMALD’S IMP GR CH & GR PR DANLEIGH STARBURST (13c6) FN 25/4/04

Seal Tortie Point Birman who I had a few weeks ago. My opinion has not changed and it was a pleasure to award a Grand to a lovely Birman. Good size and shape. She is very pretty with a lovely temperament. Round broad head with medium sized ears that are spaced nicely apart. Eyes almost round and a deep blue colour. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Good bite. Well prepared fawn coat. Points are a seal brown intermingled with shades of red. Blaze to nose. All points are broken with colour. Pure white symmetrical gloves and socks which cover the entire back paws. Good length to gauntlets. Tail short and bushy.

1CC MR & MRS WILLIAMS’S EISERBLEW BELLE DE JOUR (66w) F 19/9/07

Seal Mitted Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body is long and she stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Head is broad; she has a flat plane and good width between her ears which are medium in size. Eyes are well opened, slightly oblique and set nicely apart and are also a good blue colour. Bite is level. Cheeks are nicely developed. Dense seal points. Chin, bib and chest are white as is the underbody. The two front paws are white up to the angle of the paws. Back legs are white up to the level of the hocks. Coat nicely prepared beige in colour and a good length and texture. Tail is long and bushy.

2ND MR & MRS HASSETT’S HAPPYTYME LASS TUMBLERAG (66) F 25/4/09

Seal Colourpointed Ragdoll with a long and well built body. She stands on legs which are medium in length on large round paws. Her head is broad and she has a flat plane. Ears are medium in size, slight tilt forward and needing a little more width between them. Eyes are large, set slightly oblique and mid blue in colour. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill. Coat well prepared, silky in texture with full ruff and knickerbockers. Dense matching seal points with full mask. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders well.

3RD MR & MRS HARNELL’S RAGSCENTRICITY JELLYTOT (66) F 11/6/09

Seal Colourpointed Ragdoll. Body is long and she stands on medium sized legs on paws that are large and tufted. She has a broad head with flat plane, ears which are medium in size and needing more width between them. Eyes are large, well opened, and slightly oblique and are very pale blue in colour. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Good bite. Cheeks needing to fill a little. Dense matching seal points although mask is not quite full as yet. Coat nicely prepared, it is a good length with very slight surface shading on shoulders and flanks. Full ruff. Tail long, reaching the shoulders and tapering towards the tip.

BOB MRS S JONES’S CH GROOVICATS KOKOMO (66a) M 24/8/05

Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll who has a wonderfully laid back temperament. Body is long and muscular and he stands on legs which are medium in length on large round paws. Lovely broad head with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, set wide apart and tilted slightly forward. Large blue eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of medium length with a gentle dip and slightly retrousse at the tip. Good bite. Muzzle round, firm chin. Well-prepared coat showing surface shading but clearing well at the roots. Points colour is a medium shade of blue. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders.

1PC BOB MRS S PINDER’S ROSYPOSY GINGERSNAP (66d) MN 2/5/08

Red Colourpointed Ragdoll. He has a long and well built body standing on legs which are medium in length on well tufted large round paws. Head is broad with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, slightly tilted forward and set well apart. Eyes are large, set slightly oblique and medium blue in colour. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks well developed. Coat well prepared, silky in texture with ruff and knickerbockers developing. He has some surface shading but it is clearing from the roots Red points with mask not quite full and showing faint tabby markings to face, legs and tail. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders well.

2ND MR & MRS GROOCOCK’S MONTANTE ICE (66aw) MN 9/4/09

Blue Mitted Ragdoll needing to mature at present. He stands on legs which are medium in length on large round paws. Broad head with flat plane. Ears medium in size and slightly tilted forward. Large medium blue eyes set wide and slightly oblique. Nose of medium length with a gentle dip. Level bite but slightly weak chin which is white. Cheeks needing to fill out. Well-prepared coat of bluish white. Blue grey points colour. Mittens are pure white and almost reach the angle of the front paws. White is to the level of the hocks on the back legs. Coat well prepared, silken in texture and a good length. Tail bushy and in proportion to the body.

3RD MRS C VICKERS’S ROSYPOSY BUTTERSCOTCH (66dw) MN 11/10/08

Red Mitted Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body is long and he stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Head is broad; he has a flat plane and good width between his ears which are medium in size. Eyes are well opened, slightly oblique and set nicely apart and are also a good blue colour. Nose is medium in length but I would have liked a little more dip. Good bite. Cheeks are developing and his chin is a little weak at present. Rich red points. Chin, bib and chest are white as is the underbody. The two front paws are white but only just cover the toes. Back legs are white up to the level of the hocks. Coat nicely prepared pale cream in colour and a good length and texture. Ruff and knickerbockers developing. Tail is long and bushy.

Seal Mitted Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body is long and she stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Head is broad; she has a flat plane and good width between her ears which are medium in size. Eyes are well opened, slightly oblique and set nicely apart and are also a good blue colour. Good bite. Cheeks need to fill. Dense seal points. Chin, bib and chest are white as is the underbody. The two front paws are white up to the angle of the paws. Back legs are white up to the level of the hocks. Coat nicely prepared beige in colour and a good length and texture. Tail is long and bushy.

1ST MR M BIRCHENOUGH’S BERGORS BIRCHCARRS ALFIE (16) M 16/10/09

Blue kitten of good size and shape and a real little terror. He is cobby and compact showing good depth to his body. Stands on legs which are short and strong on firm round paws. Round head with good width between small rounded ears. Large round expressive deep copper eyes which are spaced nicely apart. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Cheeks are full. Chin is firm. Coat is a medium to dark shade of blue and it is showing silver tipping at present which is quite permissible in a kitten Coat is a little long, dense and soft in texture rather than crisp. Tail is medium in length and thick with a rounded tip.

BLUE KITTEN FEMALE

1ST BOB MRS P BEARD SMITH’S PINEMARTEN PENNY LANE (16) F 2/8/09

British Blue kitten who is very pretty with a sweet expression. Body is cobby in type and she stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between small rounded ears. Large round copper eyes that are spaced nicely apart. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Cheeks are full. Firm chin. Coat is a lovely shade of blue and is showing silver tipping at the moment which is acceptable in a kitten. Coat is slightly long but it is dense and crisp in texture. Tail is medium in length and thick with a rounded tip.

2ND MR & MRS PERHAM’S PUDDLEGLUM SASKATCHEWAN (16) F 2/7/09

Blue kitten well grown but a little unbalanced at the moment, going through the teenage stage. Body is compact and cobby in shape but head is a little small so looks unbalanced today. She is very pretty though and has a round head with good width between ears that are a little on the tall side at the moment. Round expressive orange eyes. Nose is short broad and straight. Good bite with nicely rounded cheeks. Coat is medium blue in colour and it is a good length and texture. Tail is medium in length.

3RD MR & MRS WOOD’S AIRLIEBIRD BESSIE BUNTY (16) F 29/9/09

Another British Blue also going through the adolescent stage. Body is a good size and shape but head is a little small in proportion and needs to broaden. Head round with ears which are a little tall needing a little more width between them. Round expressive copper eyes. Short, broad and straight nose. Good bite. Cheeks full with firm chin. Coat is a medium shade of blue and is a little long and soft at the moment rather than short and crisp; it is also showing silver tipping which is allowable in a kitten. Tail is thick and medium in length.

1ST MRS A BLADES’S CH BIG-HANIBAL’S DARK DEVIL (IMP) (64 31) M 30/5/08

Black and White Maine Coon. Body of good length, solid and muscular showing the characteristic rectangular appearance. Head medium in length with ears which are tall, well tufted and spaced well apart. Full and round hazel eyes that are well spaced. Nose of even width with a shallow concave curve. Full cheeks with a good square muzzle. Level bite. Well prepared coat of dense black and white. Undercoat with a glossy top coat with ruff and breeches. White inverted V on his face, white chest, underparts and feet. Well furnished tail, balancing the length of the body well.

2ND MS A GREEN’S GR CH KEVERSTONE ROCKNROLLREBEL (64 20) M 29/12/06

Brown Classic Tabby Maine Coon. Large, solid and muscular body standing on substantial legs with large round well tufted paws. Head is medium in length. Square muzzle with a firm chin. Cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones. Bite level. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Ears large and tall well tufted, wide at the base, set high and spaced well apart. Eyes full and round, hazel in colour spaced nicely apart and set slightly oblique. Warm copper agouti ground colour with tabby markings diffused today due to length of coat. Well ringed tail, full flowing and at least the length of the body.

1ST MRS S ECCLES’S JULESCOON TALLULAH (64 41e) F 19/5/09

Tortie Tabby Maine Coon of excellent size and shape and with a lovely alert expression. Body medium in size, solid and muscular standing on substantial legs with large round well tufted paws. Head medium in length with large tall ears that are set high and spaced well apart. Full round gold eyes which are set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Level bite. Cheeks fairly full. Well prepared coat showing classic tabby markings on a warm copper ground colour which is overlaid with shades of red. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints. Butterfly to shoulders, oysters to both flanks with barring to legs. Tail long, well ringed and at least the length of the body.

2ND MRS J GREGSON’S NITERAP BATTRIES (64 41s) F 23/4/09

Classic Silver Tabby Maine Coon just needing to fill out and mature. Good length to body standing on substantial legs with large round paws which are well tufted. Head medium in length with ears that are large and tall, wide at the base, set high and well apart. Hazel eyes that are full and round spaced wide apart with a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Square muzzle developing well with firm chin. Coat well prepared and showing well defined Tabby markings. Good markings to head, legs and tail. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

AC BRITISH NON-SELF ADULT MALE

1ST MESDAMES KIRK & JUHASZ’S GUSELLI SUNSET KING (31d) M 2/5/09

Red and White Bi Colour who is cobby in type and shows good depth to his body. He stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Large round head with ears that are small and rounded, spaced nicely apart and fitting into the contours of his head. Round orange eyes. Nose is straight, broad and short. Level bite. Cheeks full. Firm chin. Coat well prepared and was short and crisp to the touch. It shows patches of red and white, although he is displaying ghost spots at the moment. The coat is nicely patched and he has a white patch on his face with a white collar, white chest, white patch on his tummy and white back feet. His legs are mostly red with a small amount of white. I think he just conforms to the standard and is one third white. Fully coloured tail that is medium in length.

2ND MRS A LEONARD’S SARGENTA SILVER ANDREAS (18) M 29/5/09

Black Silver Tabby. Cobby in shape standing low on the legs on round firm paws. Head is nicely rounded with ears that are a little tall and needing a little more width between them. Eyes are hazel in colour, round and spaced well apart. Nose broad and straight with full brick leather. Level bite. Chin is a little weak but cheeks are quite full. Coat short dense and crisp. He has well defined black classic tabby markings which are on a silver ground. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, thumbprints to ears with spectacles to eyes. Oysters are almost symmetrical. Markings are brindled today especially the spine lines which are broken between the shoulder blades. Tail well ringed thick and medium in length.

3RD MISS J MARTIN’S CH WELLMAR JOSIAH (18b) M 25/7/05

Chocolate Silver Tabby. He is cobby in shape, has good depth to his body and stands low on the legs on round firm paws. Head is round with good width between small rounded ears. Large round orange eyes which are well opened and spaced well apart. Short broad and straight nose. Round cheeks. Level bite with firm chin. Coat is dense short and crisp. The ground colour is pale silvery chocolate with chocolate classic Tabby markings. He has a well defined M to his forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to his ears. Oysters are almost symmetrical. On his back he has an unbroken line running down the spine from the butterfly to the tail and there is an unbroken stripe on either side of this. The markings are brindled at present and he is losing coat quite badly. Tail is thick, medium in length and well ringed.

1ST MR & MRS PARRY’S PINEMARTEN MOZART (31a) F 7/5/09

Blue and White Bi Colour of excellent size and shape. She is cobby in type standing low on the legs and stands on short strong legs. Head is round with good width between small neat ears. Round well opened copper eyes. Short and straight broad nose. Level bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat is a little long but it is crisp in texture. It is a medium shade of blue and sparkling white, slightly unsound near the roots. She has a symmetrical white chevron on her face which has a spot of blue on the nose, part white collar, white chest and underparts. She has blue and white legs. Fully coloured blue tail which is medium in length.

2ND MISS C WEBER’S CH CRINKLES HOPE (79L 21) F 11/9/05

Long Haired Tortoiseshell Selkirk Rex. Body is rectangular in shape and she stands on legs which are medium in length on round firm paws. Round head with nicely rounded forehead. Ears are medium in size; they have curly furnishings and have good width between them. Eyes are large, round and well opened. Nose is short broad and straight with a downward slant and in profile it appears to have a convex curve. Good bite. Well padded whisker pads giving a rectangular impression, whiskers are curly. Coat is thick, dense and is arranged in loose individual curls. It is very well rexed, especially around her neck, well presented, although it is a little straighter on her back. Ruff is full and curly as are the trousers. Tail is thick and medium in length.

3RD MR W VESSEY’S PINEMARTEN AVA (28) F 2/7/06

Very pretty Blue Cream who is cobby in type, well balanced and showing a good depth to her body. She stands low on the legs on rounded paws. Round head with full cheeks and firm chin. Ears are neat, rounded and spaced well apart. Nose is short, broad and straight. Large round expressive copper eyes. Good bite. Coat is dense, a good length but a little soft to the touch. It is a lovely shade of blue with a subtle light and medium toned cream; she has a few small patches of cream on her body. All extremities are broken with colour. Tail is thick, medium in length with a rounded tip.

AC BRITISH KITTEN 1ST MESDAMES KIRK & JUHASZ’Z GUSELLI MYSHKIN (15c) M 22/6/09

Lilac of good size and shape for age. He is cobby and stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Round head with full cheeks. Eyes large, round and a good shade of orange. Nose is short, broad and straight. Ears are small, rounded at the tips and spaced nicely apart. Level bite. Firm chin. Coat is a little long and soft at present but it is a lovely shade of lilac and has a distinct pinkish tone. Tail is thick and medium in length.

2ND MRS B BRUCE’S TOPMARX CRAZY DAISY (15b) F 29/10/09

Chocolate British who is a good shape and size for his age being cobby, standing on short strong legs on round firm paws. Head is round with good width between neat rounded ears. Eyes are round, expressive and a good orange colour. Nose is short, broad and straight. Nicely rounded cheeks and firm chin. Level bite. Coat is dense a little on the long side and very soft. It is a dark shade of chocolate and is unsound. Tail is in proportion to his body.

3RD MR & MRS PARRY’S PINEMARTEN VELVET- MCMILLAN (22c) F 17/10/09

Lilac Tortoiseshell and White baby whom I judged two weeks ago, she has changed very little since then and she still does not conform to the standard in that she is more than one half white. Pretty girl who is well grown for her age. Cobby in shape, stands on short legs on round firm paws. Head is round with good width between small rounded ears. Her forehead is a little flat rather than rounded. Round expressive copper eyes. Nose is quite short broad and straight. Level bite. Full cheeks with firm chin. Coat is short, dense and crisp. It is well patched with lilac, cream and white. Both colours to face with patches of colour on the body and a fully coloured tail also showing both colours. White chevron to face which extends across the left side of her cheek. Full broad white collar. White chest, underparts and legs. White encroaches up the sides of her body and into the patches of colour near the base of her spine. Tail is in proportion to her body.

AC BRITISH DEBUTANTE NEUTER

1ST MISS P GRIFFITHS’S CADFAEL CURIOUS GEORGE (15d) MN 2/6/07

Red of good shape and size. He is cobby and standing low on the legs on large round firm paws. Large round head with good width between ears that are neat and rounded at the tip. Round expressive orange eyes. Short broad nose. Good bite. Cheeks full with firm chin. Rich red coat that is short, dense and crisp. It is showing a lot of well defined spots at present. Tail is thick and medium in length showing rings.
