The Lancashire Cat Club Show 13th March 2010Many thanks to Chris, Janet and Vicky for the invite to judge at the Lancs again. I had a lovely day with some super cats and the help of my friend Paul who stewarded for me at what was his first time at a cat show- he was excellent company and was a natural. Hopefully I can persuade him again! Class 365 Chocolate Burmese Kitten1st and Bob Williams’s Molynmeux Dinkydeux (27b) F 25.10.09A lovely kitten with bags of promise. She has a short wedge with excellent width at her cheekbones and tapering to a short blunt muzzle. The top of her head shows very good rounding and good width between her ears that are set well apart. Her ears are a touch large in size currently with a correct shape showing a broad base and rounded tips. Her eyes are a lovely large size and are set wide apart and have a good shape with a well rounded bottom line and a top line that has a change of direction in the arc but which is angled towards her nose. They are gold in colour with a chartreuse inner rim and she has a lovely Burmese expression. In profile the depth of her head is good and her ears show a slight forward tilt. Her brow is gently rounded and nose break reasonably well defined. Her nose is fairly short and straight and finishes in the same vertical plane as her chin that is medium in depth. Her bite is correct. Her body is compact in size but she feels heavy. Her tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip and is long enough to balance. Her coat is medium in length and lies well. She is a pale chocolate with minimal contrast and which is cooler toned on her body but developing warm tones on her head and neck. No award to: Coulter’s Ayshazen Rocky Balboa (27b) M 23/5/09I was extremely sorry not to be able to award a place to this terrifically friendly chap but he had today incorrect Burmese eye shape as they are almond in shape. He has also an incorrect wedge which is long and needs more width at the cheekbones. His muzzle is also long but does have a blunt finish. He has fair rounding to the top of his head but needs more width between his ears that are too high set. His eyes are medium in size and set well apart but are oriental shaped as confirmed by the most senior Burmese judge present. As such he does not have a Burmese expression. In profile his depth of head is good and his brow is gently rounded. His nose break is poorly defined and his nose is long and finishes in the same vertical plane as his chin that is medium in depth. His bite is correct. He has a long body of fair muscularity. His tail is of medium thickness at the base and tapers to a rounded tip with a tension fault and is long enough to balance. His coat is medium in length and lies well. He is a cool toned pale chocolate with marked contrast but is clear coated. His condition is good and he handled very well and has a truly exceptionally friendly temperament. I am very sorry to be so negative but he really didn’t look Burmese today and I withheld after consultation with a senior judge as previously mentioned. I did unsuccessfully try to find his owner after judging.
