Judge Supreme Show 21st November 2009-11-24 Mrs Lesley MilesWhat a super show, very good standard of cats and kittens. Thank you Celia for my invite. It was lovely to be back at the Supreme, the ‘crème de la crème’ show of the year. Now, the biggest thank you goes to my hardworking team of stewards, Brenda Hollandt, Rebecca Wren, Hazel Matthews and Brenda’s grand-daughter Bethan who did all the hard work. A big thank you to Bethan who took Tufton Fatcat for judging in the cuddly toy section. AC Silver/Non-Silver Tabby BSH Imperial/Grand Champion Male.1 UK Grand – Robinson’s Gr Ch Adsetsh Titan-Warrior (18)Well grown mature boy with a well shaped head, good width between his ears, which are just a little flared at base. Round eyes of good green colour. Good short broad brick coloured nose, level bite and fairly firm chin. My only criticism of him, is that I would like his face fuller, he tends to have jowls rather than cheeks. Heavy chunky body standing on thick set legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion showing clear rings. Pleasing black tabby pattern, clear spinelines, matching oysters, butterfly a little pale and brindled. Good silver contrast.. Shown in excellent condition with a lovely temperament. AC silver/Non-Silver Tabby BSH Imperial/Grand Champion Female1 UK Grand - Nicholson’s Gr Ch Metallicat Silver Badja (18)Very well balanced girl with a lovely round headshape, chubby cheeks, well set ears, round eyes of excellent green colour. Short broad black nose leather, level bite and firm chin. Cobby balanced body of good depth standing on short thick legs and rounded paws, showing clear spots on her paws. Tail of correct length sporting clear black rings. She has clear spine lines, a very precise butterfly, excellent matching oysters. A truly lovely clear jet black pattern on a pale silver contrast. Coat short and dense. Lovely temperament. 2nd – Benson’s Imp Gr Ch Sargenta Silver Withch (18)Another stunning girl with a very nice round headshape with well spaced ears. Good width to top of head. Balanced cheeks, large expressive round eyes of green colour. Short broad black nose leather, level bite and firm chin. She has a lovely profile. Solid heavy body with matching legs and rounded paws. Tail of correct length with rings showing but solid in colour along the ridge. She has a jet black tabby pattern, clear spinelines, her butterfly is brindled nearest her neck and rather solid in colour as it meets her spine lines. Matching oysters. Very nice coat for length and density. Another lovely temperament. Black Silver Tabby Champion – Female1 Gr Ch – Nicholson’s Ch Metallicat Silver Spyda (18)Well matured girl for her age with a super black tabby pattern. She has a neat balanced round head with well set ears, lovely expressive round eyes of green. Short broad black nose leather, level bite and firm chin. Heavy compact body with thickset legs and rounded paws. Tail a tad short for balance and rather thin but showing clear rings. Jet black tabby pattern, clear spine lines, good clear butterfly, excellent matching oysters, they look as if they have been painted on. My only criticism of this lovely girl is that her ground colour is of a rather dark silver, but true pale silver nearer the roots. Coat short and dense. British Red, Cream or Tortie Tabby Pre-Champion – Female1 c.c. – O’Connor’s Humbug Minniminx (20e)Oh boy, did she live up to her name, grumbled her way through the judging and looked at me most disdainfully the whole time. She is a super girl of a very good size for her age. Well rounded head with well set ears, little cheeks, large expressive eyes of deepest gold, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Solid body with good legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion showing clear rings of black with red mingled throughout. Excellent tabby pattern showing rich red mingling, her coat is very short and very dense. She just has one large patch of red on top of her head. Lived up to the ‘naughty tortie’ image today but well deserving of her c.c. 2nd – Cooke’s Lovejoy Prima Donna (19)Pretty young lady with a neat headshape, ears a tad large for balance. Little cheeks, large expressive round eyes of deep orange colour. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Body of good weight with matching legs and paws. Tail of correct length showing clear rings. Good clear tabby pattern on a correct ground colour. I would have just liked her tabby pattern to have been just a little richer in colour. Lovely temperament. British Brown/Blue/Choc/Lilac Tabby Champion Male1 Gr Ch – Marsland-Round’s Ch Catbalu Chianati Classico (20b)Delightful boy of excellent type. A true british headshape with good width between the tiniest of ears. Massive balanced cheeks. Large round eyes of deep gold, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. He has a well balanced cobby body of good size and depth. Standing on short stocky thickset legs and huge roun paws. Tail of correct length showing clear chocolate rings, thick at base with a rounded tip. He has a good tabby pattern but I would have liked it richer in colour. His contrast in on a good warm toned bronze colour. Coat short and Dense. Again, another boy with a lovely temperament. Colourpointed British Kitten – Male1st – Holloway’s Kruzinkal Torchwood (40 – 4)Stunning young man with a real ‘applehead’. Balanced cheeks, tiny tiny ears which are well set. Large expressive eyes of deep blue developing from the centres. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy cobby body with short stocky legs and round paws. Thick tail of correct length. Super lilac matching points on a clear contract. Coast short and very dense. Very promising young man who went on to become Best British Kitten. Well done you. 2nd – Buddings Alejandro Malach McCourt (40-2)Another very nice boy of excellent type. Large well rounded head with neat well set ears. Good width between. Chubby cheeks, round eyes of good blue colour. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Super heavy balanced body of good depth standing ‘4 square’ on short little legs and rounded paws. Thick tail of correct length with a rounded tip. Matching points, although I would like his mask more clearly defined, it tends to spread over the whole of his face and his contrast is very shady. Excellent coat for length and density. Lovely temperament. Colourpointed British Kitten – Female1st – Penfold’s Kernmere Sealedwithakiss (40-9)Super little girl with the most amazing personality. She did complete acrobats in her pen and actually stood on her head!!! I have the photos to prove it. Lovely round head shape with well set ears, just a tad open at base. Balanced little cheeks, excellent round eyes of deepest blue colour. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy compact body for her age with matching legs and paws. Tail in proportion. She has superb matching tortie points on a truly clear contrast. Her coat is very short and dense. Very promising young lady. 2nd – Annan’s Cocobella Lavender Romance (40-4)Another young lady of excellent type. A lovely round applehead shape to her head, with tiny neat well set ears, chubby cheeks, excellent round eyes of deep blue, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy cobby body of good depth standing on short thickset legs and rounded paws. Lovely thick tail. Clearly defined lilac mask with all points matching. Excellent contrast on a very short dense coat. Another very promising young lady with a lovely temperament. Just sorry she had to meet the winner today, as I explained after judging, it was very close, but the winner’s tortie points which matched so perfectly just clinched her the first place. 3rd – Cullen’s Burleaway Tia Maria (40-9)Pretty young lady with a lovely open facial expression. Well shaped head, but ears a little flared at the base. Little balanced cheeks, round eyes of good blue colour. Short broadnose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy compact body with good strong legs and paws. Tail of correct length. She has a good chocolate ‘base’ colour, with a clearly defined mask, but apart from the points on her legs, she doesn’t show enough tortie mingling. Contrast just a tad shady. Coat fairly short and dense, Not too happy today. British Tipped Kitten – Male1st – Keelings Gooderick JackwillsHandsome young man of just 5 months of age. Neat reound head with nicely balanced cheeks. Ears just a tad large at present, but hopefully he will grow into them. Stunning eyes of excellent green colour, sporting clear liner. Short broad nose, which lacks liner, level bite and chin could be firmer. Well balanced heavy body for his age with good thick legs and rounded paws. Thick tail of correct length. Excellent even tipping on a clear contrast, coat fairly short and dense. Super temperament and promising. British Tipped Kitten – FemaleAll three of these girls could have been my winner. 1st – Smith’s Torridonian Elora DananA real ‘chocolate box’ girl of excellent type. Large round head with neat tiny ears. Lovely chubby cheeks, expressive round eyes of green developing from the centres. Heavy cobby body of good depth standing on short thickset legs and rounded paws. Lovely thick tail with a rounded tip. She has super even tipping on a clear silver contrast. Her only fault is that her coat is long, but…….very dense and crisp to touch. Lovely temperament. 2nd – Brown’s Acresway IlianaReal wow factor with this young lady, sorry she had to meet the winner today. Very pretty young lady of 8 months of age. Well rounded head, just needs to grow into her ears. Balanced chubby cheeks, super eye shape and colour with clear liner. Short broad nose sporting clear liner, level bite and firm chin. Good solid body with thiciset legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion just showing some ghost rings at present. Good even tipping, just a little heavier toward her tail. Coat fairly short, dense and crisp to touch. Lovely temperament, another promising young lady. 3rd – Keelings Gooderick Lucia BiancaBaby of the class, but a very well balanced little girl who is very promising. Headshape developing well. Ears well set, just a little large at present. Little cheeks developing well. Excellent eyeshape with green colour coming through from the centres and sporting clear liner. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Compact heavy body for her age of good depth, with matching lets and little rounded paws. Tail of correct length, thick at base with a rounded tip. Lovely even tipping throughout her coat. Coast length is good, short and dense but just a little soft.
