Many thanks to Beryl and Judy for the invitation to judge at these joint shows and congratulations to all involved for making a successful go of the joint venture. I had a most enjoyable day with some lovely cats and was ably assisted by my steward Jean Lamb, many thanks I look forward to the next time.

HUMBERSIDE CAT CLUB AC BURMESE GRAND CHAMPION MALE

1 IGR CC WILSHAW’S GR CH ROSSIKHAN SWEETBABY JAMES 27 M 7.4.07

Excellent size and weight to this well balanced three plus year old boy. Medium to longer body with good muscle tone, rounded chest, proportionate length, shapely legs and oval paws. Well shaped tail of good length to balance body, tapers gently and finishes with a paint brush tip to the fur. Super condition to coat which is short and close lying and of lovely satin like texture. Brown Burmese of rich, deep, even brown in colour with a slightly darker tone to the ears. Fairly short blunt wedge. Very good width to muscled top of head between well set and shaped ears of goodly size. In profile gentle rounding to brow, good nose break and fairly short, straight nose. Level bite and fair depth chin. Good size and shape to yellow eyes set well apart. Super temperament.

RIGR CC PALISTER’S GR CH CHATHERA COOLCOLUMBO 27c M 15.7.03

Very good size and weight to this seven year old boy with a medium to longer body, proportionate length, rather well boned legs and largish oval paws. Good length to tail which felt tense at the tip. Coat is fairly short and close lying and of good texture but there was evidence of stud tail at the base of the tail and some staining. Lilac Burmese of fairly even colour otherwise with bluey contrast masking to face and ears. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of generous size. Slight rounding to brow, good nose break and fairly short, straight nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Good shape to yellow eyes which I would prefer marginally larger for perfection. Gentle natured fellow.

AC BURMESE GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE

1 IGR CC COLE’S GR CH MOLYNMEUX ADORABLE 27b F 1.9.06

Substantial nearly four year old lady of excellent size and weight with a good firm feel to her. Good length body with proportionate length, shapely legs and neat oval paws. Good tail for length and shape to balance body. Lovely short coat which is close lying and with a satin like texture and super sheen. Chocolate Burmese of warm toned, medium to darker chocolate with darker contrast masking to face and ears. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of good size. In profile very slight rounding to brow, good nose break and fairly short, straight nose. Level bite and fair depth chin. Very good size and shape to pae chartreuse eys well set. Nice natured.

 TONKINESE ADULT

1 CC & BOB BERNARD’S CH MIMAPERKS SOLITAIRE 74e F 8.9.08

Sweet natured nearly two year old lady who was calling her head off. Gently rounded top of head of fairly good width between ears, moderately proportioned wedge with a rounded muzzle and definite whisker pinch. For perfection I would prefer just slightly more breadth to the top of the head. Profile shows slight nose break then nose has slight bump rather than being straight to tip. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Medium ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips and pricked forward and set well apart. Large full almond shaped eyes, set well apart greeny in colour with the merest hint of blue. Elegant, longish body of good weight and firm feel, well balanced with rounded chest, slim legs and neat oval paws. Good length, slender, tapering tail. Coat is fairly short, lovely and close lying, fine, soft and silky with a good sheen to it. Brown Tortie Tonkinese of rich brown broken with pale shades of red, deeper tones to colours of points.

 BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL ADULT MALE

 1 CC & BOB SWAN’S BARIJKA VIKAS 76 30 M 7.4.09

Excellent size and weight to this fifteen month old boy. Medium to large body, long and muscular with medium length, strong legs and large rounded paws. Medium length tail, thick and even, carried low and with a rounded, dark tip. Short to medium length coat which I would prefer denser but soft and luxurious in texture. Brown Spotted Bengal of rich rufus ground colour with rich, chestnut brown markings. Clear ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks, chin straps and vertical streaks over head. Pale tone to lips and chin. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Broad, medium wedge with rounded contours and high cheek bones. In profile gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slightly strong concave curve at eye line then nose is straight to tip. Good broad muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. Pronounced whisker pads. Thick muscular neck. Small to medium sized ears following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. Full, almond shaped, green eyes, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear. Shy boy but handled well.

BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL ADULT FEMALE

1 CC HAGLAND & MORTON’S HETEP BRAMBLE 76 30 F 12.8.09

Brown Spotted Bengal girl of eleven months of age who is still developing. Medium body of reasonable size and weight, medium length, elegant looking legs and rounded paws. Lengthy tail, thick and even, but felt tense at tip. Short to medium length coat, fairly dense, soft texture. Golden ground colour with slight grey overtones, deep brown markings with some rosettes on sides but some linkage at shoulders. ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks and vertical streaks over head. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Incorrect vague butterfly outline on shoulders. Medium wedge with rounded contours, I would like to see her develop more breadth to the head but high cheek bones and head is correctly small in proportion to body. In profile gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose and slight concave curve to nose then straight line to tip. Rounded muzzle, level bite but shallow chin. Small to medium sized ears following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips, white scar on right ear. Full, almond shaped, yellow eyes, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear. Sweet natured girl who is still developing so I gave her the benefit of the doubt for some of her faults.

RUSSIAN BLUE KITTEN MALE

1 & BOB HARVEY’S SHERTEJO BELIAVITCH 16a M 4.2.10

Very well grown Russian Blue male kitten of just five months of age. Head has a short wedge from the tip of the nose to eyes and is equidistant from the eyes to ears. Flat appearance to top of head between the ears. Prominent whisker pads making a nice broad muzzle. In profile straight forehead to upper eye level, very shallow concave curve then nose is straight to tip. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large, pointed ears, wide at base and vertically set with the outer line following the outer contours of the face. Eyes are set wide apart, almond in shape giving a gentle expression but are still a paleish shade of green in colour. Elegant, long, well toned body of medium bone and good weight. Long, well boned legs to balance body but largish oval paws at present. Moderately long, gently tapering tail to balance body. Coat is a trifle long but has a fine and soft texture, good density developing and stands out along the sides just close lying along the spine. Lovely even, medium blue in colour with a light silvery sheen to rounded areas. A very relaxed sleepy boy with a super temperament.

RUSSIAN BLUE KITTEN FEMALE

1 PHILLIPS’S MELKELTER MISSFELICTA 16a F 17.2.10

Russian Blue five month old girl who is still developing. Head shows fairly short wedge and flat appearance to the top of head between the ears. More prominence needs to develop to the whisker pads to form the breadth to the rounded muzzle. Blue nose leather. Profile shows slight rounding to forehead at present to upper eye level, very slight concave curve then nose is straight to tip. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large, pointed ears, wide at base and vertically set with the outer line following the outer contours of the face. Wide set to almond shaped eyes, green in colour. Elegant, long body of medium bone and good weight. Long, proportionate legs to balance and small oval paws with blue pads. Long, gently tapering tail to balance body. Kitten coat soft and fluffy with density still to develop. Pale to medium blue colour which showed bands of colour and ticking at present and faint tabby markings on body and rings on tail. Sweet natured.

2 STARK’S DUSHENKA ZIVABELLA 16a F 13.3.10

Four month old Russian Blue baby. Wedge is not balanced at present and I would like to see her develop a little more breadth to the top of the head to balance the length of the profile. Flattish appearance to top of head between the ears. Looking a trifle fine and pinched at muzzle at present but she is noticeably teething which seemed to be distorting her face shape. Blue nose leather. In profile she has straight forehead to upper eye level, very slight concave curve then slightly long nose to tip is spoilt by slight bump. Level bite and fair depth chin. Very large ears which she should grow into, nicely pointed, wide at base and vertically set. Eyes are set wide apart, almond in shape with a gentle expression, colour is green at centre but yellows towards outer edge. Elegant, firm body of medium bone and good weight. Good length legs to balance body and small oval paws with blue pads. Long, gently tapering tail to balance body. Baby coat is trifle long with density starting to develop, medium blue in colour which has a ticked appearance at present and faint tabby markings on body and rings on tail. Sweet natured.
