LINCOLNSHIRE CAT CLUB – 10 July 2010

A brave adventure – the first combined All Breed Show - well done to all concerned. A steaming hot day, which made a few of the Exhibits decidedly uncomfortable I should think let alone Exhibitors and Show personnel! My thanks to Joan Pounds – our first engagement together – and I was impressed with Joan’s handling and quiet demeanour, as well as knowing a good cat! Thanks Joan for travelling especially, hope you enjoyed the day.

 AV ORIENTAL CHAMPION MALE

1 (GR CH w/h) Cassar-Simmond’s CH CIATRA BASHFUL BRUNO (37) 12/1/08

A few ‘imperfections’ for me on this lad today and I thought he lacked that ‘wicked’ look you expect from an Ori. Black. Medium wedge with good width between his ears however I felt they could be larger to balance the breadth and he tends to bonnet slightly, eyes are a good shape, slightly small in size of a pale green tone, almost straight profile, for me in profile I would like to see a stronger jaw line. Bite messy but appears level, lacking a touch in neck as he hunches himself up, good length and muscle to body, whip tail – rather greasy at base – slender legs. Coat sound to roots but of a rusty tinge and there were a few scattered white hairs in the groin area, rather dry and open. Well presented.

LILAC POINT KITTEN MALE

1 BOB w/h) Johnson’s ROYSTERER SULALAYA ICELORD 10/2/10

A beautifully grown kitten and how wonderful to see such lovely lilac points and coat colour - a rare treat! Long wedge with straight profile, his ears are a good size but they need to be more open to the base and they are set close and held high and therefore do not balance the length of head, eyes of good shape and set, bright medium blue – rather pink rimmed today, quite a pinch evident as yet, chin shallow but bite is ok, long strong body of good tone and lengthy whip, quite sturdy legs and paws. Super pinky grey points and warm off white body giving excellent contrast, the coat slightly long but of very good texture.

TORTIE POINT NEUTER

BOB only – and awarded to: Rycraft’s GRPR DRESTOTHRIL MISSLETOE (32b1) 3/6/06

Love the overall type of this girl – really nice strong wedge with wide based ears in a fixed wide setting, small bump on her nose to profile, her eyes unfortunately dominate her face until she is back in the safety of her pen and although of a reasonable depth of blue they are rather dull toned, chin could be a little firmer, level bite, lovely neckline and good strong body, whip tail and fine long legs. Points very dark seal but they are beautifully broken with many red flashes of a pleasing brightness, tonal shading and tortie patching which does not detract, her coat of very good texture but long.

AV ORIENTAL LIMIT ADULT

1 Bailey’s WESTGARTH BATOUTOFHELL (37) M 22/9/09

Lovely youngster – now he - even at this young age- has that ‘wicked’ look to him! Long wedge with super roman profile, chin could be a tad stronger but ok and bite level, oriental eyes of a very good depth of brilliant green, long neck and body – this super muscle tone already, no doubting he is a boy! – tail is a good length but just a little on the heavy side, stands tall on elegant legs. Glossy jet-black coat, close fitting and perfectly sound to roots. First class temperament – just loving the attention. I shall watch him with interest!

AC SIAMESE OR BALINESE JUNIOR ADULT

1 Hall’s FURRYFACE BURLINGTON BERTIE (24) M 26/12/08

Stylish seal point with lovely triangular wedge lines when viewed head on, has large open based wide set ears, oriental eyes of an intense blue tone, slight rise to profile over brow, quite a pronounced pinch, firm depth to chin and level bite. Long neck and body – good firm feel, balancing whiptail and fine slender legs. Warm seal brown points well matched throughout – quite a degree of brindling to the mask under eyes and at base of tail, tonal shading but this was acceptable and his coat was ultra short and of a good texture.

AC SIAMESE OR BALINESE SENIOR ADULT

1 Read’s CH ADAJAN VANILLA SKYE (61bt) F 6/8/06

Choc tabby bali lady who was rather short in wedge and square to muzzle, ears small in size and set close, eyes of a good shape and of a super deep blue, almost straight profile, lovely firm depth of chin and level bite, short rotund body and her tail short as well, heavy legs and large paws. Points warm choc, lovely tracings, faint tail rings, dark ivory body but shows good contrast – some heavy surface pattern evident, coat very dry and almost fluffy, does not flow to the body.

AC SIAMESE OR BALINESE KITTEN NOT BRED BY EXHIBITOR

1 Johnson’s ROYSTERER SULALAYA ICELORD 10/2/10
 2 Hamilton’s LITTLEFEAT LOLA (32b1) F 5/3/10

Seal tortie with a long sharp wedge and large ears that were set and held high, her eyes fractionally full and although of a good depth of colour she was showing a squint which may be transitional and due to teething. Small pinch to muzzle, fine neck and short firm little body with a fine whiptail. Points are at present very back and white, her coat of good length just a touch harsh on back.

AC SIAMESE OR BALINESE NOVICE NEUTER

Two very good quality ladies here.

1 Webster’s CH NANPEMA TANZANITE-IN-BLUE (24a) FN 13/2/09

Blue lady with a neat even wedge ears of good size, ideally could be more open to the base but well set, almost straight profile, excellent eyes for shape and depth of colour, chin rounds off but bite ok, fine neck, well nourished but of proportionate length and fine whip tail. Points medium blue - her stocking a beautiful delicate shade – correct cold base to coat and the texture super.

2 Helm’s GR CH MORALYN VELVETENA VISION (24) FN 2/9/02

An old friend who is stylish still. Medium wedge with ears of good size just set fractionally close, rise over brow in profile good depth to chin - a few teeth evident and they appeared level, oriental eyes still retaining a good depth and brilliance, rather short and portly to the bodyline, tail balances, fine legs and neat paws. Dark warm seal brown points, well matched and still shows enough contrast, her coat beautifully prepared.

AC SIAMESE OR BALINESE JUNIOR NEUTER

1 Glaubitz’s LITTLEFEAT DISTANT THUNDER (32a) MN 29/5/09

A beautifully grown young man who is a right fidget when he is out of the Pen! Long wedge with firm straight profile, ears could ideally be a little larger and they need more width between to perfectly balance the length of head, eyes of good shape, a touch on the small size, of a very good depth of blue, good chin and bit, long neck and body – this well toned and firm, fine whip and long slender legs. Points of a good bright hue, slightly paler stockings as per the norm, unshaded bright white coat, super coat texture.

AC SERIES BREED 32 NEUTER

 1 Glaubitz’s LITTLEFEAT DISTANT THUNDER (32a) MN 29/5/09
2 Hocken’s GR PR EPITOME SUNDANCE (32a) MN 28/10/06

Ran the winner very close I have to say. Mature gent of very good type and balance. Long wedge with slightly long forehead leading to straight profile ears of a good size but once again needing a little more width between, eyes of good shape but slightly deep set and the haws were up a little of a good depth of blue, good chin and bite - few missing teeth, long body of a good feel, tail needs another inch and is rather heavy, long strong legs. Points superb bright red/gold and an almost unshaded bright white coat of fantastic length and texture.
