NORMA FARNSWORTH HUMBERSIDE & LINCOLNSHIRE SHOW 10TH.JULY 2010

Many thanks to the managers of this joint event for inviting me to step in to judge when Mrs. Studer was not well enough to attend. Although the concept of two all breed championship shows being held ‘back to back’ is a giant step it is only the first step which is difficult – or so one is led to believe. Although this system does not necessarily inflate the entry it does halve the overheads for the participants and this has to be a bonus. The intense heat caused some concern but the Dunkirk spirit came to the fore and all went well. Joan Smith stepped in to steward for me at a moments notice and was an entertaining and knowledgeable steward. Thank you, Joan.

LINCOLNSHIRE CAT CLUB: AC.CH.SIAMESE MALE:

IMP.GR.CH.W/H. HIRST’S GR.CH.TOGHAR BY DESIGN(32/3) 12.10.08

A gentleman of good overall type who lacks maturity at present. Good top of head with a slight depression on brow and well placed large ears. Almost straight profile, level bite and good chin. Oriental eye shape and lovely set with clear blue colour which needs to be deeper. Long, rather lightweight body with a slight prominence of the presternum, which in my opinion was within the normality range and would not be noticed had there been more body weight. Fine legs and a well ringed whip tail needing a bit more length. Good chocolate points colour with well defined M on brow, thumb prints and leg bars and bracelets. Ivory coat with minimal shading just a fraction long on the back.

SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER MALE:

GR.PR. GLAUBITZ’S PR.LITTLEFEAT DISTANT THUNDER(32a) 29.5.09

Very stylish youngster who I have admired since I saw him as a kitten. Excellent type overall with a good length straight head with balancing width between large ears. Straight profile, straight lines to muzzle, level bite and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set, looking a trifle red today with clear blue colour which could be deeper for perfection. Elegant neckline and long muscular body of stylish type with slim legs and whip tail. Good red points and a warm white coat of good length and texture.

RES.GR.PR.TURVEY’S PR.STYPERSON BIJOU(24b) 7.8.06

Mature exhibit of overall good type shown in excellent condition. He now has a few little faults due to the advancing years which were not so obvious in the past. Balanced wedge with well placed ears, slight dip in profile, level bite and a chin which could be deeper for perfection. Oriental eye shape and set with clear blue colour. Long muscular body of good type with slim legs and whip tail. Rich chocolate points, incomplete on the mask and slight shading on an ivory coat of excellent texture, just a fraction long on the back.

Lovely fine type overall, she never changes and appears to enjoy being shown as she is perfect to handle. Straight, balanced wedge with well placed large ears. Straight profile. Level bite though some teeth are missing and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with inscrutable expression. Fragile neckline and proud head carriage with a firm body, slim legs and whip tail. Very good caramel points colour and a coat which was short, smooth and close lying

AC.BALINESE ADULT FEMALE:

1.CC.BOB. READ’S CH.ADAJAN VANILLA SKYE(61bt) 6.8.06

Another mature lady who has kept her type. Straight balanced wedge with well placed fronded ears which could be larger for perfection. Straight lines to muzzle, straight profile, teeth gone but bite level and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour and lovely expression. Long body of good weight, type and muscle tone and a well plumed tail which needs to be longer and lovely slender legs. All tabby markings well defined with thumb prints, M on brow, single ribbons and leg bars and bracelets. Good length coat just a fraction harsh.

HUMBERSIDE CAT CLUB: SEAL POINT ADULT MALE:

1.CC.BOB. HALL’S FURRYFACE BURLINGTON BERTIE 26.12.08

Extremely stylish young man with an outstanding coat. Straight wedge with balancing width between large ears. Straight profile, level bite and firm chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour and superior expression. Well defined neckline and regal head carriage. Long muscular body of stylish type, slender legs and long whip tail. Dark seal points and an exquisite coat, perhaps lacking a little contrast but with the best length and texture of the exhibits I judged throughout the day. Shown in superlative condition and a joy to handle.

2.HOWARTH’S MIYASMA MOURINHO 4.6.09

Just over a year old and, as a result, looking somewhat immature on the day. Good type overall with a good top of head and large, well placed ears. Slightly flat on the brow, straight nose, level bite and good chin. Slightly full eyes of good basic shape and set, looking better in repose with clear bright blue colour which could be deeper for perfection. Excellent weight and muscle tone with good length body, slender legs and long whip tail. Dark seal points and a clear cream coat providing excellent contrast. Needs more time.

SEAL POINT ADULT FEMALE:

1.CC.LLOYD’S SEIDO SHULAMITE 1.7.07.

A dainty little female of good overall type. Straight head with good width between large, well placed ears. Almost straight profile, bite level but lower teeth slightly uneven and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with deep blue colour and Siamese expression. Fragile neckline and long body of good type and muscle tone, slender legs and long whip tail. Dark seal points, slightly brindled and a coat of good texture, slightly long on the spine. Excellent temperament.

BLUE POINT NEUTER FEMALE:

1.PC.BOB. WEBSTER’S CH.NANPEMA TANZANITE-IN-BLUE 13.2.09

Fine boned female of elegant type. Balanced wedge with good width between large flared ears. Straight profile, level bite and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with clear bright blue colour. Elegant head carriage and long svelte body of excellent muscle tone with slender legs and long whip tail. Good blue points and some toning shading on a white coat which was short, smooth and close lying. An auspicious entry into the neuter section,.

CARAMEL POINT NEUTER MALE:

1.PC. TURVEY’S PR.STYPERSON MYSTIQUE 7.8.06

This gentleman has put on quite a bit of weight since I saw him last but he’s looking good. Good balanced wedge with balancing width between well placed ears. Almost straight profile, level bite and good chin. Oriental eye shape and set with clear, bright blue colour. Long muscular body of good type with slender legs and long, slightly thick tail. Good caramel points colour and a coat of good length and texture with some shading on the flanks.
