The London Cat Club Show

13th June 2009

Grace Denny

A most enjoyable and well organised show at which it was once again a pleasure to judge. My steward was indeed very attentive and experienced and I thank her sincerely for her assistance up to the end of Best in Show and I hope I will have the pleasure of her company in the future Rachel.

OPEN AV SLH GR PR MALE

1st Imp Alner’s Gr Pr Mistymagic Red Cookie (13c5)

It was a pleasure to award this lovely exhibit of 10 years of age this high award, who was beautifully presented and in pristine condition and handled well. Expressive head, broad rounded skull, slight dip in profile, cheeks rounded and full, ears of medium size set well apart, eyes almost round of clear blue tone, chin slightly tapers, bite level, body has plenty of substance and muscle tone and points and mask matching giving lovely contrast to unblemished coat which has length and is silken in texture with full ruff and breeches, strong limbs, symmetrical gloves and matching gauntlets, bushy tail.

Reserve Fleming’s Coontastic Dancing Brave (64 34)

Another super exhibit so unlucky to meet the winner today, also quite worthy of the higher award, after much deliberation I gave preference to the Birman’ taking in his condition and presentation for his age. This exhibit has so much going for him, fully developed, in splendid condition and behaved like a gentleman, quite rectangular in appearance, head of medium length, cheeks quite full, high cheek bones, nose shows shallow concave line, square in muzzle, bite level, ears large – high set and tufted, eyes well spaced, good neck line, long solid body. Broad in chest, coat full with undercoat and glossy top, pattern well defined overall, substantial legs, large round paws, full bushy tail.

OPEN AV SLH GR PR FEMALE

1st Imperial Jones’ Gr Pr Coonflakes Cara Mia (64 20)

A well balanced and developed exhibit, very typical of the breed and handled beautifully, good strength of head and of medium length, large tall set tufted ears, eyes quite full and well shaped, cheeks fairly full, high cheeks bones, good width of nose with shallow concave curve, square in muzzle, bite level, good neckline, solid muscled body, broad in chest, fully coated with desired base and glossy overlay, frontal ruff and breeches, substantial limbs, large tufted paws, full tail of length. Well worthy of the high award.

Reserve – Davies’ Ch & Gr Pr Sonnywood Nutmeg (66e)

Good strength of head and broad with flat between ears of medium size set with slight tilt and rounded cheeks were developed, with well rounded muzzle, chin firm, bite level, gentle dip in profile retrouse tip, eyes well open, brilliant blue in colour, short in neck, long muscular body, coat dense and silky in texture, shows ruff and some breeches, mask/ears and feet all show tortie markings and some shading but giving good contrast, substantial limbs, just a little naughty to handle but an attractive exhibit.

OPEN AV FOREIGN GR PR MALE

1st Imp – Hummerston’s Ch & Imp Gr Pr Chrisan Camelot (33 31s)

An excellent example of the (BREED) so rarely seen these days, elegant and well balanced, medium wedge, large high set ears and cheek bones, in profile a flat skull curves gently at brow into straight line to end of nose, eyes oval in shape, chin firm, bite level, body hard and muscular, elegant neckline, coat short and dense, beautifully rippled and silky, fine long slender legs, tail fine and long and well covered, handled beautifully and in splendid condition.

Reserve – Anderson-Keeble’s Gr Pr Santillo Feromeses Mercury (78 30s)

A well developed exhibit of excellent type, but rather overweight which detracts slightly rounded wedge of medium length, profile gentle rise from bridge of nose to forehead, nose of uniform width, gently rounded muzzle, flows to contour of head, chin firm, bite level, cars moderately large set well back on head and alert, eyes large and almond in shape of gooseberry green tone, medium length of body, close lying coat, well defined spotting with good silver base, mask pattern and M clearly defined, broken necklaces well barred on elegant limbs and tail tapers slightly banded to tip. Handled well.

OPEN AV FOREIGN GR PR FEMALE IMP N/A

Lee’s Gr Pr Kalukikatz Arabesque (76 20)

I was unable to give a true assessment of this exhibit due to her being naughty, she appeared to be sharp in the muzzle and showed linking of spots vertically, therefore I could not award the IMP certificate.

OPEN BRITISH SH BLUE TORTIE/WHITE ADULT

1st CC BOB Gorcher’s Ch Loraston Florra Naye (22a)

A mature exhibit cobby, compact and well balanced, good strength of head, round faced with full cheeks, breadth of skull with neat ears, short broad nose with break and chin firm, bite level, thick in neck, eyes wide open, golden in tone, cobby in body, short on back, low on legs with deep chest, coat dense and short, just a trifle soft, colours all present and patching, sturdy short legs, tail thick at base, rounded yip. Easy to handle.

2nd Moss’ Willowwood April Rain (22a)

Needs time and development as yet, round faced and cheeks just in evidence, breadth of skull with neat ears, eyes round, yellow/gold in tone, short in neck, broad nose with break, chin firm, bite level, cobby in body, coat quite dense but soft in texture, low on sturdy limbs, tail thick at base, rounded tip, well patched with all colours in evidence.

3rd South’s Fedicatz Cosmopolitan (22a)

Very small for age of over a year, body cobby and compact, round faced, lacks fullness of cheeks, ears neat, a little close set, short broad nose, eyes round, gold in tone, bite level, chin shallow, short in neck. Body has substance, coat quite dense, good proportion of colours clearly defined, sturdy limbs, short thick tail. Very sweet natured.

OPEN RUSSIAN BLUE ADULT FMALE NEUTER

1st PR BOB – Anderson’s Semilla Angelo (16a)

A very elegant exhibit although somewhat shy to handle, short wedge, flat between ears which are large, wide at base and set vertical, angled profile and prominent whisker pads, green almond shaped eyes, slender neckline, body firm and muscular, chin form, bite level, coat double with good base and sound, long legs and tail.

2nd Noble’s Larksong Bogovski (16a)

Rather lacking ‘Russian’ type, somewhat round in head, ears quite high set and large, straight in profile, lacks angular line, eyes oval pale green tone, shows prominent whisker pads, chin shallow, body muscular and firm, with length coat long and open, slender limbs, tail thickish. Handled well.

OPEN RUSSIAN BLUE NEUTER FEMALE PR N/A

1st Curtis’ Pr Curtilla Pskova (16a)

Short roundish head, ears small and low set, eyes oval pale in colour, angled profile lines shows slightly pronounced whisker pads, chin shallow, bite level, slender neckline, body has length and is firm, coat lacks base, long and harsh in texture, slim legs, tail thick.

2nd Trodd’s Larksong Angelina (16a)

Short round in head, lacks style, ears small, quite high set, eyes pale, oval in shape, chin shallow, bite almost level, shows slightly prominent whisker pads, slender neckline, body has length, quite firm and muscular, coat long, lacks base, raised ‘korat like’ spine ridge, slim legs, tail thickish.

BOB SIAMESE RED PT AWARDED TO REED’S IMP GR CH JOHPAS SENORITA RUMBALITA (32A)

Overall Best in Show Siamese – a striking elegant girl of super type – Congratulations!

OPEN AC BALINESE ADULT MALE CC N/A & BOB

1st Pinnington’s Spindiamond In Blue Jeans (61a)

Faulted mainly on very slately dark points and mask, short wedge, well placed ears, which are quite large, eyes oriental in setting and of a brilliant blue tone, chin firm, bite level, almost straight in profile, body form and muscular, coat lacks length and bib, coarse in texture, plume sparse.

AC BALINESE ADULT FEMALE BOB NOT AWARDED

Pinnington’s Gr Ch Spindiamond Playme (61e)

Faulted on short head, dip in profile and coat texture.

LILAC POINT SIAMESE NEUTER

BOB awarded to Gr Ch & Gr Pr Abicasa Carmina Burana

A super exhibit of true lilac points and magnolia clear coat.

OPEN SIAMESE CARAMEL POINT NEUTER MALE

1st PR & BOB Cosgrove’s Pr Bethanjo Theodore (24n)

Length of head and straight in profile, oriental shaped eyes, could be deeper in colour, ears large and wide in base, just a little close set, chin firm, bite level, slender neck line, body has length with substance, coat fine and short rather shaded but still contrast to points, long slim legs and tapered tail, handled well.

2nd Martin’s Pr Abicasa Peer Gynt (24n)

This exhibit persisted in hiding under far too many blankets, his head appeared rather out of balance with large ears which he holds flat and forward, eyes of oriental setting and of clear blue tone, straight in profile, muzzle shows a pinch, chin firm, bite level, solid in body, coat short and fine in texture but shaded, points very dark, long slim legs, tapered tail. In splendid condition.
