The London Cat Club Show saw an impressive line up of Selkirks competing for a chance to win some of the first certificates awarded at Championship Level. The story of the day has to be the stunning longhair tortie Curlu Coco who Catplanet readers may remember from her BIS win at the CRAOV last year. Coco is four next month and became the only cat who has attained 4 merits, 3 ICs and won a certificate at the new level when she won the first Premier Certificate awarded to a female neuter on Saturday. Coco retired from breeding last year and is now being shown by new owner Kellie Gillott who is new to the Cat Fancy and already enjoying herself with her pair of "naughty torties". Amazolou Edna Mode her shorthaired girl was 3rd in the Open behind Coco on Saturday. Congratulations Kellie and good luck for the rest of the season, Congratulations also to breeder Pamela Anderson who had a wonderful day with cats from her breeding taking the top two spots in both neuter classes. The stunning and strapping red shorthair Curlu Neo took the male Premier Certificate and the Best of Breed for proud owner Sheena Nichols and Curlu Orlando (Kerry Smith) and Curlu Neve (Nicky Ryan) taking the runner up spots. All four of the Curlu cats are sired by or descended from Pam's now retired stud boy Jengari Amaretto who has been so influential during his stud career. Third place in the Neuter Male class went to Wyrewood Mister Christian (Judith Noble). To cap that, all of the Selkirks had numerous placings in the large and competitive side classes on the day and really showed the curlies are going from strength to strength!
There were also two adult males on show with Catbalu Indiana taking his first CC and Best and Breed and Sewnsew Wotsitaboutalfie taking the runner up spot. Again both boys had a successful day in their side classes and wowed the public. Unfortunately Alfie is just too big to do his normal trick of sitting in my handbag so he dispensed cuddles instead! Congratulations to both owner/breeders Dee Marsland Round and Sally Lee. To the left is Curlu Neo winner of the male neuter PC and Best of Breed and below Curlu Coco winner of the first female PC.
