MANCHESTER & DISTRICT MAY 2009JUDGE: MR MJ PEARMANThank you to the show manager Mrs Tomlinson and her assistants Ann Spotswood and Maureen O'Dowd for calling me in to take over judging some of the other judges' books when they had a high entry in the semi longhair section. Mrs Dawn Marshall stepped in at the eleventh hour to steward for me, many thanks for your hard work and excellent handling of the exhibits. AC MAINE COON ADULT Eight exhibits present1ST KILMARTIN'S LIONMAINE LIMITED EDITION (64.41ew) (F) 25.6.08Ten month old tortie classic tabby and white girl of good size and weight. Long body well boned and muscled. Good breadth to the chest and firm rump. Long tapering tail balanced the body. Good width to head with large ears well feathered and tufted held high on head with a good gap between. Round pale golden eyes of a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of a uniform width with a shallow concave curve to the profile, level bite, high cheek bones. Muzzle square of good width with nice depth and width to the chin. Head very well balanced. The coat was well shown, soft texture and displaying quite a nice glossy substantial top coat with length to the flanks and frontal ruff. Belly and breeches shaggy, feet tufted. The tabby markings were dense, shown off by a rich brown agouti ground colour and the coat displayed vibrant tortie patches. The face showed a good tabby pattern and the classic tabby pattern to the body was good with just a little more clarity to the spine lines needed. Coloured areas to legs barred and tail ringed. The white areas were to the chin, tummy and all four feet. Pretty girl with a lovely temperament. 2ND ECCLES' JULESCOON BERTIE PAN (64.41) (M) 29.7.08Nine month old Brown classic tabby lad of good size and weight, long body well boned and muscled with good breadth to chest and firm rump. Long tapering tail balanced the body. Good width to the head with large ears well feathered and tufted, held high on head with a good gap between. Round hazel eyes of a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of a uniform width, but at present the profile was as little straight needing a little more of a gentle curve. Cheek bones high, level bite. Square muzzle with good width and depth to the chin. Head showing good balance. The coat was well shown, developing a glossy top coat with the length of fur coming to the flanks and frontal ruff. Belly and breeches shaggy and feet tufted. The tabby markings were dense and the ground colour was of a warm brown agouti tone. The face displayed a lovely tabby pattern, and the classic tabby pattern to the body was of a lovely clarity, legs barred and rings to the tail. He was a little grumpy today. 3RD WAITE'S CH OLIROSE SILVER STORM (64.41sw) (M) 4.10.07One and half year old black silver classic tabby and white lad of good size and weight. Long body well boned and muscled with good breadth to chest and firm rump. Long tapering tail balanced the body. Good width to the head with large ears well feathered and tufted, held high on head with a good gap between. Round greeny eyes of a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of a uniform width with a shallow concave curve to the profile. High cheek bones, level bite. Muzzle quite square with good depth to the chin just needing a little more width. Head quite well balanced. Coat of good length showing a glossy substantial top coat with good length to flanks and frontal ruff. Belly and breeches shaggy and feet tufted. The tabby markings were dense shown off by a nice silver ground colour, some tarnishing to the back. Nice tabby pattern to the face and a reasonably clear classic tabby pattern to the body. Coloured areas to legs barred and rings to the tail. White areas were to the nose, muzzle, chin, tummy and all four feet. AV SLH JUNIOR ADULT (A) 12 exhibits present1ST EDWARDS' DARKTOWER INDIGO (64.16) (M) 25.6.08Ten month old Blue Maine Coon lad of a very good size and weight showing excellent bone and muscle. Good breadth to chest and firm rump. Long tapering tail balanced the body. Good width to the head with large ears well feathered and tufted, held high on the head with a good gap between. Round golden eyes of a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of a uniform width with a shallow concave curve to the profile. Cheek bones high, level bite. Square muzzle of good breadth with quite good width and depth to the chin. Head very well balanced. The coat was well prepared, soft texture and displaying a glossy substantial top coat with good length to the flanks and frontal ruff. Belly and breeches shaggy and feet tufted. Profuse flowing fur to the tail. The overall blue was of a pleasing medium tone quite sound. Lovely lad with a super temperament. 2ND MLYNEK & HAYWARD'S MLYWARD HONEY POT (13c7) (F) 17.5.08Eleven and a half month old cream Birman girl of good size well boned. Tail of good length, nice and bushy balanced the body. Good breadth to the head with medium sized ears spaced well apart. Almost round eyes of a deep blue colour. Medium length nose with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Level bite. Chin full and well developed. Excellent head balance. Pretty girl with a lovely Birman expression. The coat was very well prepared, silky texture with a full ruff and curled tummy. The coat was of a pleasing off white colour developing a faint golden hue. The cream points matched well in tone and were of a medium shade. Full cream mask to the face. Lovely even white gloves to the front feet and white socks to the back feet. The white gauntlets to the back legs were of a quite good length, both tapered well and were well matching. Lovely temperament. 3RD WAITE'S CH OLIROSE SILVER STORM (64.41sw) (M) 4.10.07Eighteen month old black silver classic tabby and white Maine Coon lad (REPEAT) 4TH HOPKIN'S DRAGONMAINE SHADESLAYER (64.41aw) (M) 1.6.08Eleven month old Blue classic tabby and white Maine Coon lad. AV SLH JUNIOR ADULT (B) Eleven exhibits present1ST TWYMAN'S NORGESKAUKATT GOJENTA MI (67.31t) (F) 5.7.08Nearly ten month old Brown tabby and white Norwegian forest girl of medium size, although well boned standing tall on back legs. The tail was long reaching the shoulders and nice and bushy. Good triangular shape to the head with nice sized ears, well feathered with reasonable tufts held high and open on head. The ears fitted well into the lines of the head. Large well opened pale golden eyes set slightly obliquely long nose straight in profile. Level bite. Good strong firm chin. Excellent head balance. The coat was well prepared displaying a nice woolly undercoat covered by a glossy overcoat which was of a nice course texture. The coat was semi long with a good shirt front, full ruff and knickerbockers. Lovely temperament. 2ND GRIFFITH & SCOTT'S RAGTASIA SUMMER BREEZE (66.31a) (F) 12.4.08Just over one year old Blue Bicolour Ragdoll girl of medium size and weight. Long body quite well boned with good depth to chest. Long bushy tail balanced the body. Reasonable breadth to the head with medium sized ears spaced well apart with a flat plane between. Well opened eyes of a nice blue colour. Medium length nose with a gentle dip in profile. Cheeks quite full and level bite, good chin. Head showing good balance. The coat was well prepared, silky in texture. The blue points were of a well matching bluish grey colour and the body was of a bluish white with a white patch over shoulders and to the back and rump. White inverted V to the face. The chest, tummy and all legs were white. Lovely temperament. 3RD GRANT'S NOYNAROCK ANYA (67.31at) (F) 11.5.08Eleven month old Blue tabby and white Norwegian Forest girl of medium stature, although well boned standing tall on back legs. The bushy tail easily reached the shoulders. Good triangular shape to the head with nice sized ears, well feathered with small tufts, held high and open fitting well into the lines of the head. Well opened hazel eyes set slightly obliquely. Medium length nose, straight in profile. Level bite, reasonably firm chin. Head showing quite good balance. The semi longhair coat was well prepared, with a woolly undercoat covered by a coarse glossy overcoat. There was good length of coat to the shirt front, ruff and knickerbockers. Lovely temperament. AV SLH VISITORS ADULT 10 exhibits present1ST WHITBY'S GR CH SUCETTE PRINCE VALIANT (13c4) 13.7.07One year and nine month old lilac Birman lad of quite good size. Good length to body well boned. Bushy tail balanced the body. Good breadth to the head with medium sized ears spaced well apart. Almost round eyes of a deep blue colour. Medium length nose with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Scissor bite, chin quite well developed. Head well balanced. The coat was excellently prepared, silky texture, the coat was of a nice off white magnolia colour and the points colour were of a well matching and pleasing pinkish grey tone. Full lilac mask to the face. Even white gloves to the front feet and even white socks to the back feet. The white gauntlets to the back legs were of a reasonable length, nicely tapering and well matching. Lovely lad with a super temperament. 2ND WATKINS KRYSTALTOZE TINSEL (13c1) (F) 14.7.08Nine and half month old seal Birman girl of medium size well boned. Good length to the body. Bushy tail balanced the body. Good breadth to the head with medium sized ears spaced well apart. Almost round eyes of a good blue colour. Medium length nose with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round, level bite. Full well developed chin. Head well balanced. The coat was well shown, silky in texture, the body was of a lovely clear pale beige colour. The points colour was of a good deep seal brown well matching in tone. Full seal mask to the face. The white gloves to the front feet were reasonably even with the left glove just a little lower. White spot connected to the paw pad on the right paw. Even white socks to the back feet. The white gauntlets to the back legs were of a reasonable length quite well matching, they both tapered and of the same length but the left gauntlet slightly went off to the side a little. Good temperament. 3RD POOL'S DALTEEMA STARDUST (13c9) (F) 3.6.08Nearly eleven month old chocolate tortie Birman girl of medium size showing reasonable bone. Good length bushy tail balanced the body. Good breadth to the head with medium sized ears spaced well apart. Almost round eyes of a good blue colour. Medium length nose with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks quite full and round. Scissor bite. Chin full and well developed. Head showing good balance. The coat was of an ivory colour lightly shaded. All the points displayed intermingling of shades of red which were rich in tone. Full mask to the face. Even white gloves to the front feet, very good even white socks to the back feet. The white gauntlets to the back legs were of quite a good length, both tapered and matched well. Good temperament. AV SLH NON BREEDERS KITTEN 12 exhibits present1ST KILMARTIN'S RUMTUMTUGGER DE NIRO (64.41) (M) 11.9.08Seven month and three week old brown classic tabby Maine Coon lad of good size and weight. Long body well boned and muscled with good breadth to chest and firm rump. Long tapering tail balanced the body. Good width to head with large ears well feathered with small tufts held high on head with a good gap between. Round golden eyes of a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of a uniform width with a shallow concave curve to the profile. Cheek bones high. Scissor bite. Square muzzle of quite good width and good width and depth to the chin. Head well balanced. Coat excellently prepared, soft texture, the coat was still at a kitten stage, developing a glossy top coat with reasonable length to the flanks, frontal ruff, belly and breeches shaggy, feet tufted, profuse fur to the tail. The tabby markings were dense shown off by a reasonably warm brown agouti ground colour. Face showed a good tabby pattern and the classic tabby pattern to the body was nice and defines, just a little brindling present to back. Legs barred and rings to the tail. Lovely temperament. 2ND LEAHY'S DARKTOWER VIRGINIA (64.41esw) (F) 19.10.08Six month old tortie silver classic tabby and white Maine Coon girl of good size and weight. Long body well boned and muscled, good breadth to chest and firm rump. Long tail balanced the body. Good width to the head with large ears well feathered and tufted held high on head with a good gap between. Round hazel eyes of a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve to the profile. Cheek bones high. Level bite, square muzzle a tad short but of good width. Good depth to the chin just needing a little more width. Head showing quite good balance. Coat excellently prepared, soft texture, every bit a kitten coat at present, nice and glossy, belly and breeches shaggy, feet tufted. The tabby markings were dense shown off by a nice silver ground colour and the pattern was nicely overlaid with tortie patches. The face displayed a good tabby pattern, the butterfly was just evident to shoulders, the spine lines still weren't too clear as yet, oysters to flanks, coloured areas to legs barred and rings to the tail. White to the whisker pads, chin, bib, tummy and all four feet. Lovely temperament. 3RD KURTZ-WILLIAMS GROOVICATS BLUEANGEL (66a) (F) 16.10.08Six and half month old blue Ragdoll girl of medium size and weight. Good length to body developing bone, nice depth to chest. Round head with medium sized ears spaced well apart with a flat plane between. Well opened eyes with the blue colour still developing depth. Medium length nose which needs a little more of a gentle dip to the profile. Cheeks full,level bite and good chin. Head developing balance. The coat was wells shown, silky in texture with the body colour a lovely pale beige with well matching colour to the points of a nice blue tone. Full mask to the face. Long bushy tail balanced the body. Good temperament. AV SLH RADIUS NEUTER 11 exhibits present1ST ASHWORTH'S IGR PR RAGALYN BLUELAGOON (66.31a) (MN) 27.4.04Five year old blue bicolour Ragdoll lad of very good size and weight, long body well boned and muscled with very good depth to the chest. Long bushy tail balanced the body. Good width to the head with medium ears set well with a nice flat plane between. Well opened eyes of a good blue colour. Medium length nose with a gentle dip in profile. Level bite. Nice full cheeks and firm chin. Excellent head balance. The coat was very well prepared of a good length and silky in texture, the points colour was of a well matching pleasing blue tone and the body colour was lovely and pale. White inverted V to the face, one patch of white to the shoulders and one to the back, white chest, tummy and all legs. Super lad with a lovely temperament. 2ND RICHARDSON & HARLING'S PR JACKSONTAILS TITCHITOT (64.18e) (FN) 5.5.06Two year and eleven month old tortie silver tabby Maine Coon girl of good size although a little plump. Long body well boned and muscled. Good breadth to chest and firm rump. Long tapering tail balanced the body. Good width to the head with medium sized ears well feathered and tufted held high on head with a good gap between. Round green eyes of a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of a uniform width with a shallow concave curve to the profile. High cheek bones, level bite. The muzzle was square although a little blunt of good breadth. Good width and depth to the chin. Head showing good balance. Coat well shown showing a substantial glossy top coat, with good length to the flanks and frontal ruff, belly and breeches shaggy, feet tufted and profuse flowing fur to the tail. Soft texture. The tabby markings were of a dense black shown off by a silver ground colour and there was nice tortie areas overlaying the pattern. Face displayed a good tabby pattern and the body was covered by a reasonably clear classic tabby pattern, legs barred and rings to the tail. Good temperament. 3RD YATES DARKTOWER LAKELAND SPIRIT (64.18) (MN) 19.8.06Two year and eight month old silver tabby Maine Coon lad of good size and weight, long body well boned and muscled with good breadth to the chest and firm rump. Long tapering tail balanced the body. Good width to head with large ears well feathered and tufted, held high on head with a good gap between. Round yellowy green eyes of a slightly oblique aperture and set. Nose of a uniform width with a shallow concave curve to the profile. Cheek bones high, level bite. Muzzle square of good breadth with good width and depth to the chin. Head well balanced. The coat was of quite good length to the flanks and frontal ruff. Belly and breeches shaggy and feet tufted. Profuse flowing fur to the tail. The tabby markings were dense shown off by a nice silver ground colour. Face showed a good tabby pattern, the body displayed a butterfly over the shoulders, the spine lines weren't too clear to the back, legs barred and rings to the tail. Good temperament.
