Maidstone & Medway Cat Club Show – 19.12.09 Show Report – Mary Kalal

Congratulations to Anne, Brian and the Committee for an excellent pre-Christmas Show with a super atmosphere; despite the snow and a few absentees, everybody pulled together and the show was able to close early and everybody get away on their journeys in daylight, which was much appreciated. There were some really stunning cats present, in my SLH Imperial Neuter classes there were 10 males and 5 females and the quality was superb, I was spoilt for choice and was sorry that I could not give more awards than just two. I was grateful to Richard Lord for stepping in to steward for me when my original steward was struck down with ‘flu (hope you get well soon Vivienne). Many thanks Richard, you presented the cats beautifully and I thoroughly enjoyed our day together and hope you will steward for me again.

AV SLH Grand Premier, Male:

1 and IGP to STABLES’ IMP GR PR MERLIESIN CAISEAL BEAG (63) 26.10.03.

A handsome and charming cat of excellent type and balance, showing lovely warm colouring, very striking with a firm lithe body, legs and tufted paws in proportion and full black heels, tail long, tapered and fully furnished; ears large, tufted, furnished and wide set, balanced head showing gentle contours with a slight break to profile, lovely broad rounded muzzle with indentation, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, well set, full almond shape and hazel colour with an excellent expression. Coat soft, fine and dense with a full ruff and breeches, very well ticked in black on a rich apricot base with a darker dorsal line and tail tip, clear facial markings, some pale cream around his lips and chin, excellent condition and most beautifully presented, congratulations on later becoming BIS Semi-Longhair.

RESERVE to SEYMOUR’S GR PR FANCYPAWS MRBOJANGLES (13c1) 24.10.05.

A handsome mature cat, well developed and strong with a charming temperament, firm muscular body, thickset legs with short strong paws and balanced tapering tail with a full brush; ears medium and wide set, balanced head, full cheeks, dip in profile, chin tapers nicely and has depth, bite level; eyes well set and vivid sapphire blue colour with an excellent expression. Silky well developed coat with a full ruff, excellent warm dense seal points and a warm golden glow to body colour, feet markings tidy and well matched, excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AV SLH Grand Premier Female:

1 and IGP to SEMOS’ UK GCH & GPR PRIDNJOY ARABESQUE (13c1) 20.8.99.

A lovely female with a charming temperament and sweet expression; firm muscular body, strong legs and paws and balanced tail with a lovely full brush; ears medium and wide set, balanced head with full cheeks, dip to profile, tapered muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and vivid blue colour. Coat full and silky with dense warm seal points and a clear warm toned body, feet markings tidy and well matched; excellent condition and presentation.

RESERVE to HAWES’ IMP GR CH & GR PR GLENPETER CONCERTO (13c2) 28.8.01.

Another lovely mature female with a charming temperament and excellent expression; firm well muscled body, thickset legs and paws and balanced bushy tail; ears medium and wide set, excellent profile with a small dip, full cheeks, muzzle tapers nicely, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and sapphire blue. Silky coat with a full ruff and breeches, medium blue points colour and cool tone to body but some slight top shading at present, feet markings tidy and well matched; excellent condition and presentation.

Fawn Abyssinian Neuter Male:

BOB not awarded to PATEY’S CH & GR PR MYCENE MACGREGOR (23e) 6.3.01.

A tense cat who preferred his pen; firm but rather portly body, long legs with oval paws, tail tapered, slight thick at base but needs an extra inch or so to balance; large ears lightly tufted but well set, head short and round, slight break to profile, chin shallow and runs off, bite difficult to assess today; eyes rather round, hazel colour. Coat short and close, base colour pale and cool in tone and the body pattern light and needs to show more ticking for perfection; excellent condition and well presented.

AC Oriental Bi-Colour Kitten, Male:

1 and BOB to MEEKINGS RANTIPOLE REMEMBRANCE (48.40b) 23.3.09.

A very promising young male, strong and of very good type and beautifully presented. Large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced even wedge head, straight profile, firm chin and level bite; oriental eyes of excellent dark blue colour and typical expression. Long elegant neck, firm well muscled body with legs and paws in proportion, tail long fine and balanced; coat short, fine and close, showing chocolate points and an ivory body colour cleanly patched with pristine white showing very little invasion of colour.

AC Oriental Bi-Colour Kitten, Female:

1 to VIGGERS KATAMOUNTIN KALLIPAH KAHLAH (48b) 7.6.09.

A good natured but slightly shy young female with a long firm body, long fine legs and fine balanced tail; large ears well set and flared, long wedge head with a small kitten pinch, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of clear green colour. Long neck; coat short and close, dark chocolate brown patched with clear white but showing some invasion of contrasting colours here and there in the patching at present; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

Oriental Lilac Neuter, male:

1 PC and BOB to ROPER’S PR POLLYBEE SILK EMPEROR (29c) 6.10.08.

A good natured cat with a lovely expression; long firm body, long fine legs with small oval paws and fine balanced tail; large ears well set and flared, balanced wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of pale green. Long neck; coat short and close, showing even but dark lilac colouring which does have the required warmth in the background needed for true lilac; excellent condition and presentation.

Oriental Black Neuter, Male:

1 PC and BOB to TITTERALL BABADAG ASIFBYMAGIC (37) 6.1.09.

A very handsome and elegant young cat, showing excellent type and balance with a long firm well muscled body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, evenly balanced wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of vivid green with an excellent expression. Long neck; coat short, close and fine, dense black and it shines like patent leather; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

Seal Point Siamese Adult, Male:

BOB to MARTIN’S GR CH GLENTHORNE CONSTANTINE (24) 3.12.04.

A strong and well balanced male of very good type and excellent temperament with a long muscular body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, medium length even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely vivid blue with an excellent expression. Long elegant neck; coat short and close with dense seal points, body colour shaded in tone but has warmth; excellent condition and most beautifully presented.

Seal Point Siamese Adult, Female:

1 and CC to MARTIN’S ABICASA AMAZING GRACE (24) 26.2.09.

A very pretty female of good type and balance, very shy and preferred her pen; long lithe body, long fine legs and long fine tail to balance; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, straight profile, chin rounds off slightly, bite meets; oriental eyes of lovely vivid blue with an excellent expression. Long neck; coat short and close with dense seal points and a clear beige body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

2 to HATCHETT’S TIROLENA LEGENDARY WARRIOR (24) 3.9.08.

Another shy little female with a sweet temperament; long firm body, long fine legs with small oval paws and fine balanced tail; large ears held slightly high, long wedge head that is slightly narrow across her eyes, very slight dip in profile, good chin and level bite; eyes of oriental set and dark blue colour. Long neck; coat short, close and shining, dense seal points and clear beige body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

Chocolate Point Siamese Adult, Female:

1 CC and BOB to MORGAN’S ASTRALBLAESE ATALANTA (24b) 22.3.08.

A very pretty female with a lovely expression; long lithe body, long fine legs and fine balanced tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head with a small pinch, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely vivid blue with an excellent expression. Long neck; coat short fine and close with warm chocolate points colour and a clear ivory body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AC Balinese Adult Female:

1 CC and BOB to PINNINGTON’S SPINDIAMOND SONGSUNGBLUE (61p) 22.8.06.

A very pretty female with a sweet temperament; firm lithe body, long fine legs with oval paws and tail balanced and plume-like; ears large flared and well set, medium length wedge head, straight profile, firm chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely dark blue with an excellent expression. Coat fine and silky, could be a little longer for perfection, soft caramel tortie markings on points, some light body shading over her back; excellent condition and well presented.

AV SLH Breeders Adult:

1 to PERCIVAL’S IMP GR CH BLEUGEMS TEDDIE BEAR (66.31) 8.8.07.

A big strong male with an excellent expression and beautiful vivid eye colour; muscular and well developed with strong legs and tufted paws, tail long tapering and bushy; ears medium and wide set, broad head with full cheeks, dip in profile, rounded muzzle, good chin and level bite. Coat silky and well developed with a full ruff and knickerbockers; excellent condition and presentation.

2 to HAINSWORTH LITTLERAGS TOTALLY DEVINE (66a) 27.5.08.

A very pretty female with a lovely expression and beautiful vivid eye colour; strong and well developed but she has one or two knots under her coat, otherwise excellent condition and well presented.

3 to STANTON CH RAGADDICT MIAMORIO (66.31) 2.10.07.

AV SH Self Limit Adult:

1 to SHEPHERD TRUBRIT JIMBOJONES (16) 21.5.07.

A handsome male, well developed and strong with neat rounded and low set ears, rounded head with full cheeks, breadth of skull, good chin and level bite, short thick neck, body firm and cobby, short strong legs and thick balanced tail; eyes large round and set wide apart, orange colour with an excellent expression. Coat colour is a little unsound being an even soft blue on top but paler towards base, very dense but a little soft in texture; excellent condition and presentation.

AV Siamese Novice Kitten:

1 to HART’S HARTRIDGE HIFIVE (61fn) 5.5.09.

A good natured little male with a firm lithe body, legs and paws in proportion, tail long, tapered and plume-like; large well set ears, balanced wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; eyes of oriental set and dark blue colour. Silky coat with apricot points and a clear warm toned body; excellent condition and well presented.

2 to PININGTON’S SPINDIAMOND IAMISAID (61c) 2.7.09.

A very tense and nervous young male but we did persuade him to relax; good firm body, legs and paws in proportion, tail balanced and plume-like; ears large and well set, medium length wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of dark blue, excellent expression. Soft silky coat with lilac points colour and magnolia body, excellent condition and well presented.
