MERSEYSIDE CAT CLUB

MRS. PAT PERKINS – SHOW REPORT

A big thank you to Jenny and the Gang at Merseyside for the invitation to judge at this friendly and well run show. There were some quality cats and kittens to handle, I enjoyed my day. Special thanks to Jennifer Maddrell for all her help and company.

PERSIAN RED SELF ADULT

1ST. CC & BOB. STEPHENSONS WESTHOLME ROCKNROLL – (9.4.08)

Friendly well groomed youngster. Compact build, short thick legs. rounded top of head, small ears well furnished. Nose short with good break, firm chin and level bite. Big round orange eyes. Coat a good strong red to back, slightly paler to sides, wide short tail to balance – alert youngster.

PERSIAN TORTOISESHELL ADULT

1ST. CC & BOB SMITHS BESSJET TIGERLILY – (11.7.08)

Cobby solid youngster who I liked as a kitten. 4 square build with sturdy short legs, round head, small ears, side set and nicely furnished. Big wide open eyes of a rich copper, short nose, good break, firm chin, bright alert expression. Thick soft coat with well defined red and black patching to head and shoulders, deepening on back, legs and feet broken, finished off with a short bushy two tone tail –lively lass, nice to handle.

BOB THORNBURNS CH. ALINDAS TUPPENCE HA’PENNY – (22.3.08)

Attractive girl with a soft well groomed coat, pristine white with well defined red and black patches. Rounded top of head, neat ears, super rich eye colour – quality lady.

1ST. & CC MILICANS CULLYKHAN HONEY PIE – (4.9.08)

Only just 9 months but a very attractive girl with good bone and substance, coat still quite fluffy but showing good sound patching of red and black, crisp white, colour to face, head and legs, short tail. Good width between ears, they just need to drop slightly, big round wide open eyes of a sound orange, nose showing good break, firm chin, jaw a tad narrow as yet – a very promising young lass with a lovely temperament.

1ST. CC & BOB ELMS NOYNAROCK SOLAMAN – (2.5.08)

Blue & White who was long in the body with strong high legs, a touch lean in build but was obviously a working lad. Triangular shape to head, ears set well wide at base, straight profile, greenish eyes obliquely set, nice expression. Thick coat rather shaggy, needing a touch more preparation, dark blue with white to feet and ruff, very long tail past his shoulders, he was a bit on edge did not like his neighbour, but handled OK.

2ND. JONES JUNDERKATTENS JOHN LENNON - (19.2.08)

Red Tabby who was long and lean in the body, high legs, rounded paws. Head triangular, almost straight profile just a slight dip, bright hazel eyes a little deep set, ears wide based, set in the contours of his head. Coat needing much more preparation, again he is a working lad, colour a good red, showing some tabby markings, long tail to shoulders – not too happy to be handled.

FEMALE

1ST HIGHAMS VESLEMOY COCOA CHLOE – (25.8.08)

Tortie Smoke who at just over 9 months was well developed, long body, good strong high legs, big tufted feet, nice substance. Bright alert expression, large oblique set eyes, straight profile, strength to chin. ears wide based, well furnished, just needing to drop to side a little. Very nice texture to coat, thick but soft, shaggy tummy and trousers, nice ruff, bright tortie colours with nice contrasts to undercoat, very long full tail tapering slightly reaching shoulders – laid back lass.

2ND. HALLS BAGGINS FIELD OF GOLD – (29.1.08)

well made Brown Tabby with good strong bone, length to body, high legs, rounded feet. Good straight profile, ears wide based fitting into her triangular head shape, depth to chin. Eyes greenish just a little deep set. Well groomed thick coat showing classic tabby markings on a warm ground. Full frill framing her face, long ringed tail – gentle lass who ran winner close.

3RD. DAVIES ROWGARNOR GABRIELA – (26.4.08)

Blue Silver Tabby & White, long and lean in body, strong legs, big rounded feet. Head a nice triangular shape, straight profile, wide based ears, slightly forward set, big greenish oblique set to eyes, firm chin. Well groomed coat, silvery ground with blue tabby markings, ruff coming in, tail long needing a little more furnishing – friendly lass.

BOB SWINBURN PR. STUKELIN ROARING THUMDER – (5.1.01)

Mature Red Tabby & White in excellent show condition. Strong bone, long body, thick high limbs. Head broad with high set wide based ears, curve to nose, square muzzle, bright oblique set eyes. Thick coat showing good dark red tabby markings on a softer red ground, white to paws, long well furnished tail – quality boy with a lovely temperament.

1ST. & CC. FARNLEYS COONARIA FIRESTORM – (25.1.08)

Red Classic Tabby, another in excellent condition. Massive build, long muscular body, thick high legs and big rounded feet. Masculine head with ears held high, wide at base, tipped and feathered. Broad nose with gentle curve, strong square muzzle, chin, lips and nose in line, eyes hazel oblique set, just a touch deep set. Thick well groomed coat, clear classic tabby markings on a warm red ground, M, eye lines to face. Long ringed tail – super natured lad. 

2ND. WALSH OLTOMAINE BILL THEKID – (24.11.06)

Black & White, mature head, ears wide at base, eyes slightly oblique set, strong square muzzle, firm chin. thick soft glossy black coat, white to feet, paws, chin and chest, lots of white whiskers, tail long and well furnished reaching just past shoulders – lovely boy to handle.

3RD. COXALLS PURDYSTON TOBIAS – (2.11.07)

Black Smoke & White coat a little seasonally short but glossy black with good overall silvery contrasts, tail long and well furnished reaching shoulders. Well set ears, curve to nose, eyes hazel and obliquely set – another boy with a super temperament.

SIBERIAN NEUTER ASSESSMENT

MERIT TO WAREINGS ALEXANDRITE TASHA – (6.6.08)

Attractive lass of just 12 months, head developing nicely, good cheek bones, large oval hazel eyes with a rounded lower line, slight curve to nose. Body just a little long and adolescent but nice bone and already has the “heft”, large feet and paws. Tail broad and well furnished. Tabby markings to head legs and tail, body rather diffused, undercoat starting to thicken up, back coat developing a coarser texture – delightful temperament just a bit shy, promising girl.

1ST. CASE GEMKIN JAZZY JASPER

Super Red/White Bi-Colour boy who at just over 9 months, has bone and substance, strong broad head, super big copper eyes, short nose, lovely thick well groomed coat, a rich red, with the minimum white – laid back youngster.

2nd. HUTCHINSONS CH. HERRAFARESIAN BUTTER BALL

Mature Cream with a super gentle nature. Coat soft, changing at present, some old coat to back, paler cream to sides and head. Bushy flowing tail.

1ST. FARSON AND JONES COMMODOR’S DUSTY OF NOTORIETY

Black/White Bi-Colour boy with super rich eye colour.

PART 2.

1ST. TYRELLS ONNYDALE AMZENIBUFFALOBILL

Blue Exotic with a nice even blue coat, a little seasonally soft. Solid compact build, rounded head, orange eyes, short nose, good break, fat cheeks. Tail thick with rounded end. – friendly boy.

2ND. CONWAYS SUPERRNOVA TABBY TH.

Brown Tabby Exotic wearing a coat of excellent thick texture, good overall tabby markings. Apple head, with small ears, short nose, slightly undershot, firm chin. Thick tail well ringed – gentle youngster.

AC PERSIAN CAT WITH 2CC’S, IC’s or MERITS

1st. HIGGINS ALINDAS BAM BAM

Quality Black/White Bi-Colour, lovely soft full coat, dense black with pristine white. Rounded head, width between neat ears, firm chin, short broad nose, short wide tail. Cobby compact build, thick legs. gentle boy.

Blue Tortie & White, rather small and light in weight, pretty expression, lovely eye shape and colour, neat ears. Coat a little short but pristine white and pastel patches – sweet temperament.

1ST. DAVIES HIGHSPOT GOLDENBOY

Red Shaded Cameo of 7 months, already has excellent bone and substance, strong legs. Broad head with large orange eyes, firm chin, well set ears. Very nice shaded coat, tipping a bit darker on back, excellent cream white overall contrasts, bushy wide tail – very friendly lad.

Red Tabby Exotic lad, strong bone and well padded. Coat thick but a very dull red, fair tabby markings. Round head, fat cheeks, eyes colour not sorted, thick tail - gentle nature

1ST. SEYMOURS BRYLOU SHORTCUT

Solid chunky Blue Spotted Tabby of 11 months. Round apple head, big orange eyes, short nose, ears a little open. Thick dense coat, nice tabby to head, sides and legs, rather diffused as yet to back – gentle lad.

AC SEMI-LH KITTEN (3-6) MONTHS

1ST. LISTERS COONARIA SANDPAPER KISSES

Super Classic Tabby & White Maine Coon youngster. Excellent markings to a soft coat, white to chest and paws. Super large high wide based ears, long tips, bright oblique eyes, firm chin. At 5 months has length to body and legs, very long tail super natured lass.

2ND. BULLIVANTS BARANCHRI GALADRIEL – 63b

delightful Chocolate Somali of just 14 weeks. Already showing a ‘smiley’ expression, moderate head shape, ears set nicely apart, inner furnishings, slight nose break to profile, large expressive eyes set obliquely, surround a pale chocolate with lighter spectacles, some pencil lines developing. Still wearing a baby fluffy kitten coat with guard hairs, soft apricot to base, ticking a light warm chocolate, mid chocolate to facial markings, toe tufts, heels and just showing along spine line and tail, tail long and starting to fill out – a promising baby with a super friendly temperament, ran winner close.

3RD. BULLIVANTS BARANCHRI AUTUMN FUGARA

Tortie Classic Tabby Maine Coon lass with super ear set.

X3rd. JONES DOMUSFELIUM AMORE MIO – Lively Seal Birman youngster with good eye colour.

Black Norwegian boy, super temperament. Length to body, good bone, strong legs, well padded. Triangular head, ears wide based and sitting well into shape of head, straight profile, thick dense black coat, long flowing tail.

Grand Seal Birman lady of over 8 years, soft well groomed coat, dense seal to ears and mask, neat white paws and even gauntlets. Good blue eyes colour, slight curve to profile, finished off with a bushy seal tail. 3RD. SWIFTS CH. & PR. NITERAP SWEET PETE - Solid well made Silver Tabby & White Maine Coon. X 3RD. ALLENS PR. SPIRITDANCERS DARCEY – Mature Seal Bi-Colour Ragdoll boy.

Cracking White Semi-Longhair lad of nearly 11 years. Bright and alert, strong bone, well padded, lovely temperament. Pristine white coat, long white full tail - in lovely show condition.
