Rex Cat Club 07.11.09 Mrs Val AndersonMany thanks to Alan & Linda & the Committee for the invite to judge at this friendly breed show. I had a very enjoyable day and some lovely cats to judge. Many thanks to Sue Amor for her excellent stewarding and very pleasant company. OPEN CLASSES GRAND CHAMPION CORNISH REX FEMALEGCC THOMPSON’S CH CHRISAN CARA MIA (33 31s) F 25.07.08An elegant black smoke & white girl of only 15 months with a beautiful coat. Head a medium wedge with high cheek bones & narrowing to a rounded muzzle. Straight profile, level bite and OK chin. Large ears set rather high but her eyes are a little rounded though set on a slight slant. Elegant neck & muscular body of medium length carried high on long straight legs with oval paws. Long fine tail. Well-covered with a short silken coat, just a slight patch of stud tail. Well-rexed with tight ripples on the body, more plushy on the shoulders. Long white whiskers. A gentle girl shown in lovely condition though she preferred the security of her pen. RGCC ARNOLD’S IMP GR CH PAPAVER PANDORA (33 36) F 07.09.04A mature & very elegant girl of 5 years with lovely type but losing out to the winner on coat today. Head a medium wedge narrowing to a rounded muzzle. Almost straight profile, level bite and good chin. Large mussel shell-shaped ears with a broad base & rounded tips and set rather high. Expressive well-set eyes of oval shape & medium size. Muscular body carried high on long slender limbs with oval paws. Long fine tail. Short coat but looking a little untidy and it could be denser and felt a little greasy to the touch. Well-rexed with ripples on the body, slightly straighter down her spine. Long whiskers. A gentle girl who was easy to handle. DEVON REX KITTEN, MALE (UP TO 6 MONTHS)1ST & BOX NICE’S POSHNOSH XANADU (33a 18) M 14.06.09A well-grown young man of only 4 months with a firm muscular body. Head a short broad wedge with a short nose, high cheek bones and blunt muzzle. Flat skull, rounded brow and quite good stop in profile. Shallow chin and level bite. Large ears with a broad base & rounded tips with small tufts; they could be set a little lower and I would prefer them to be larger at this stage of his development. Large oval eyes set wide apart and on a slant. Long neck & muscular body of medium length with a broad chest. Long slim legs & oval paws and long tapering tail well-covered with short fur. Very short coat on the body & rather harsh to the touch as it is growing through and not long enough to curl. Short crinkly whiskers. A very purry boy, he made up for the lack of coat with his temperament! Marked in my book as a silver tabby but he looked more like a brown tabby to me. 2ND AGGETT’S MAGICAL ELF INSTARDUST (33a 30as) M 21.05.09A blue silver spotted boy of 5 months with huge ears but his head is a little out of balance at this stage of his development. Long neck & muscular body of medium length with long legs and small oval paws. Long fine tail well-covered with quite short fur.
