Three Counties Cat Society 15.08.09
Mrs Val AndersonThanks to Sheila & Ivor for the invite to my local show. The new venue appeared to be a success though it did get very hot during the afternoon. Many thanks to Sue Amor for stewarding and being great company. We had an eventful day which added interest to the proceedings but we made it through to the end!
OPEN CLASSES
RUSSIAN BLUE ADULT MALE
1ST CC & BOB CAMPITELLI’S SERNIK MISCHARIMSKY (16a) M 14.09.08An extremely well-grown young man of only 11 months shown in lovely condition. Head with a flat skull & good profile but the angle could be more developed. Short wedge & level bite but his chin could be deeper & I would prefer more prominence to his whisker pads. Large ears with a broad base & set to follow the lines of his head. His eyes are a little deep set & could be more almond in shape, the colour still developing. Strong muscular body, long & elegant with long limbs and oval paws. Moderately long tail, tapering but rather thick at the base. Dense double coat of an even blue with good colour at the roots, the silvery sheen still developing. He had a little grumble but was easy to handle. I hesitated over the certificate as he does have some faults but his overall condition & balance won me over.
RUSSIAN BLUE ADULT FEMALE
1ST (CC WITHHELD) WHEELER’S WARWICK KAILANI (16a) F 11.11.08A young girl only just into adulthood & still very much a kitten in appearance. Head a little narrow and rather fine on the muzzle though she does have prominent whisker pads. Flat skull but scooped profile plus a small nose bump. Good chin and level bite. Tall ears set vertically to the head and large eyes, a good green colour developing but they could be set a little wider apart. Elegant body with long limbs & tapering tail that could do with a little more length for balance and showing some faint rings. Double coat but it could be denser and a little harsh in texture. Well-developed silvery sheen but darker tail. She was a little upset by her neighbour but not a problem to handle. Certificate withheld because of her immaturity and narrow muzzle.
2ND MORAN’S ZIPPYKITTY ENCHANTA MISTIQ (16a) F 20.08.08A slightly older girl of not quite 12 months who initially came out quite happily but then became rather naughty and so not fully assessed and mainly judged in her pen. Head with a short wedge & broad between the ears but her whisker pads could be more prominent. Large ears with a broad base but set a little too wide apart. Very large eyes of rounded almond shape – looking rather full but probably because of her mood. Elegant body with limbs & tail to balance. Even blue coat colour plus a silvery sheen. This girl became very agitated and I had her withdrawn from her other classes for her own protection – she was in a double pen and this may have increased her anxiety, I think she would have preferred the security of a single pen?
BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL ADULT, MALE
1ST CC & BOB BOIZARD-NEIL’S BAMBINO SEA PRINCE (76 30) M 02.07.08A well-grown young man of only 13 months with a lovely clear coat pattern. Head a medium wedge slightly longer than wide with good width between the ears. Large nose but his muzzle could be a little broader though with pronounced whisker pads. Slight curve to the profile, shallow chin and level bite. Well-set ears of medium size and large oval eyes set on a slant. Strong body, long sleek & muscular with limbs to balance. Medium length tail that tapers a little. Short soft coat with a very distinct pattern of rosetted spots on a buff base with paler ground colour on the underparts. Good head markings and complex scarab marking. Spotted tummy, spots & bars on the limbs and ringed tail with a dark tip. Shown in lovely condition and easy to handle with a gentle nature.
2ND ALGER-STREET’S TYPHAST GREATBALLSOFIRE (76 30) M 02.03.06A large mature boy of 3 years with a gentle nature, apparently it was his first show but he wasn’t phased by the occasion. Mature head, a medium wedge slightly longer than wide with a large nose though his muzzle could be broader. His ears are a touch large but well set with a broad base and rounded tips. Large eyes, almost round with lovely depth to the green colour. Strong & muscular body, long & sleek with depth of flank. Muscular limbs of medium length and good tail of medium length, it tapers a little. Warm overall colour but wearing his summer coat & moulting so lacking density and the pattern could be more distinct. Large rosetted spots on the body, complex scarab marking and several necklaces on the chest. Spotted tummy & well-marked limbs with spots & bars and ringed tail with a dark tip.
ALSO CONSIDERED FOR BOB:
ALGER-STREET’S GR CH TYPHAST HURRICANE (76 30) M 01.06.06Unfortunately this lad managed to escape from his pen and was in his basket when I reached him whilst his pen was repaired! He was a little distressed as he was reluctant to come out of his basket and then determined to get out of his pen again. Despite the ordeal he was very good-natured and just wanted a cuddle! A handsome fellow who I have judged before but his coat was not at its best on the day being rather thin, especially down the spine.
SNOW SPOTTED BENGAL ADULT
1ST CC & BOB EYRE-BROOK’S GAYZETTE SPARKLER (76b 30) F 12.05.08A young girl of only 12 months who needs to mature. Head a medium wedge longer than it is wide with a slight curve to the profile. Her muzzle could be a little broader but the whisker pads are pronounced. Rounded chin that could be a little stronger and level bite. Medium-sized ears that are a little tall but set wide apart. Large eyes of rounded oval shape & set on a slant, a lovely blue colour when she was out of the pen. Long sleek body with limbs of medium length but they could be a little stronger & I would prefer a thicker tail. Large spots on an ivory base, they could be more distinct but her coat was probably not at its best because of the time of the year. Good head markings with lovely long mascara lines on the cheeks. Spotted tummy and lovely clear leg markings of spots & bars. Ringed tail with a dark tip. Just good enough for a certificate, her sweet charming temperament won me over!

Large eyes of oval shape set on a slant. Long, sleek muscular body with strong limbs to balance & large rounded paws. Moderately long tail with a rather bony tip. Beautiful coat of gorgeous overall colour and lovely feel to the touch, soft dense and luxurious. Clearly spotted with large distinct rosetted spots on a warm golden base. Spotted tummy and ringed tail with a dark tip. A gentle lad shown in excellent condition.
2ND EYRE-BROOK’S WOTHORPE WICKHAM (76 30) MN 27.03.08A very well-grown young lad of 16 months, strong & masculine. Head a medium wedge longer than wide but a little out of balance at present. Good width between the ears but his muzzle could be a little broader though with pronounced whisker pads. Concave curve to the profile & level bite but his chin could be a little stronger. Moderately large but slightly tall ears set wide apart. Large oval eyes set on a slight slant. Long muscular body with strong limbs to balance and moderately long, slightly tapering tail. Soft dense coat with large spots on a buff base though they could be more distinct and some linkage in places. Spotted tummy, well-marked limbs and ringed tail with a dark tip. Easy to handle and shown in super condition.
3RD WILLIAMS & KENNEDY’S TYPHAST JALAL (76 30) MN 13.05.08 Litter brother to the winner but with not such a rich colour to his coat. Head a medium wedge slightly longer than wide but his muzzle could be a little broader. Concave curve to the profile, level bite and good chin. His ears are a little tall and set a fraction high. Lovely expressive eyes of good shape & set. Long muscular body with limbs to balance & moderately long tail that tapers a little and is rather bony at the tip. Soft dense coat and clearly spotted with large spots but not so much clarity to the base coat as his brother’s. Spotted tummy, good leg markings and ringed tail with a dark tip. Shown in lovely condition and easy to handle.

Well-grown body, strong, muscular and semi-cobby with limbs to balance. Tail of medium length and heavier at the base. 1ST IC & BOB DEAN’S AMAROGUE MORRIS MINOR (84 31) MN 03.11.07 A lovely black & white boy of 21 months who was very easy to handle. Head a modified wedge with rounded contours and slightly longer than wide. Distinctive whisker break and prominent whisker pads. Slight stop in profile, level bite and shallow chin. Huge ears with a broad base and set at a slight angle to the head. Large lemon-shaped eyes. Long neck & muscular body with a rounded chest & abdomen but he is only young so needs to fill out. Muscular limbs with oval feet and long slender toes with thick pads. Long fine tail. Typical absence of coat with a fine down on the skin giving the desired soft warm chamois leather feel.
