Many thanks to Carol and Ron Pike for the invitation to judge and to the National Cat Club for their hospitality. A most enjoyable day with some excellent cats. I was ably assisted by my excellent steward who handled the cats with care and was great company. I look forward to the next time

AV FOREIGN GRAND CHAMPION MALE

1 IGR CC BULL’S GR CH ADCINSH SOLITAIRES WISH 76b 30 M 11.1.05

Nearly five year old boy of excellent size and weight to medium to large body, long and sleek and with good muscle tone. Proportionate length, strong legs and large rounded paws. Slightly long and tapering tail with a dark tip. Coat is fairly short, fairly dense and of excellent soft and luxurious texture. Snow Spotted Bengal of golden ivory ground colour with charcoal markings just showing slightly darker overtones overall. Clear ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks, partial chin straps and vertical streaks over head. Well defined spotting, broken lines and spots on legs all the way down to his toes, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Good, medium wedge with rounded contours, high cheek bones and head correctly small in proportion to body. In profile gentle concave curve from forehead to bridge of nose, concave curve to nose then straight to tip. Broad nose with puffed nose leather. Broad muzzle, level bite and fair depth, level chin. Pronounced whisker pads. Medium sized ears well set and following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. Lovely blue eyes of full, almond shape, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear. Super temperament to this playful fellow.

AV FOREIGN GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE

1 IGR CC ROBINSON’S GR CH KARESAMA SILVER SEASHADOW 72 43 sq F 1.9.05

Four plus year old lady of very good size and weight to medium to longer length body with a good firm feel to her. Well rounded chest and straight back. Slender, proportionate legs and neat oval paws. Good length and shape to slightly tapering tail to balance body finishing with a paint brush tip to the fur. Coat is fairly short and close lying and of excellent texture. Asian Brown Silver Shaded with burmese colour restriction of silvery base colour shading to even, very deep brown surface colour which is slightly more intense down spine and top of tail which shows a little ticking. Brown tail tip and brown up the hocks. Faint marks on limbs. Good width at cheek bones and a blunt muzzle. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped, medium sized ears. In profile slight flattening to brow, good nose break, nose a trifle long but straight. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Green eyes, large and lustrous and set well apart. Lovely temperament to this lady who enjoyed a cuddle.

Sixteen month old boy who was showing that lovely ‘worried’ expression. Slightly rounded wedge of medium length, I would prefer a little more breadth to the top of his head. Nice profile line with gentle contour and slight rise from bridge to forehead and down neck. Uniform width down nose to gently rounded muzzle. Level bite and medium depth, rounded chin. Good ears medium in size, broad at base, slightly pointed, set well back and cupped forward to follow the line of the head. Large, rounded almond shaped eyes, set straight under a level brow, pale gooseberry green in colour at centre put paling in tone at outer edge. Medium to long body of excellent size and weight, strong and muscular and well balanced. Well boned, proportionate legs and largish rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and tapering slightly towards tip which felt tense. Slightly long length to close lying coat with good sheen to it. Smoke Egyptian Mau of lovely pale silvery ground colour tipped with black, just breaking with movement. Faint facial markings with ‘M’ on forehead with frown marks, good pencil lines on cheeks, complex scarab over top of head breaking into spots along spine. Randomly spotted in black, fairly well defined, clearer on left than right hand side, broken necklaces and bars on legs. Ringed tail with a dark tip. Super relaxed temperament.

RGPC CHAPPLE’S PR ANTIKPATINA LOGI BEAR 74b MN 13.8.08

Fifteen month old boy who showed himself off to advantage. Gently rounded top of head of good width between ears, moderately proportioned wedge which is well balanced. Rounded muzzle and definite whisker pinch. Profile shows slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Medium to larger ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips and pricked forward and set well apart. Large full almond shaped eyes, set well apart slightly pale blue in colour with a hint of green. Longish body of good weight and muscle tone which is well balanced with rounded chest, slim legs and neat oval paws. Medium length tapering tail. Coat is a trifle long but close lying and of very good fine, soft and silky texture with a good sheen to it. Chocolate Tonkinese of medium, warm toned chocolate body colour with some shading which toned with the points of rich dark chocolate. Faint rings on tail. Lovely temperament.

Attractive Brown Tortie Tonkinese lady of eight plus years of age. Gently rounded top of head of good width between ears, moderately proportioned wedge, nicely balanced and with a rounded muzzle and definite whisker pinch. Nice profile line with slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and good depth chin with a little goatee beard. Medium sized ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips, pricked forward and set well apart. Almond shaped eyes set well apart, greeny colour with a hint of blue. Longish body of good weight and muscle tone well balanced with rounded chest, slender legs and neat oval paws. Medium length gently tapering tail. Coat a trifle long but close lying coat, fine, soft and silky with a good sheen to it. Brown Tortie Tonkinese of deep brown mingled with shades of red with tone of colour deepening on points. Super temperament, alert, interested and friendly.

RGPC BROOKS’S CH & PR VALISA JANAMEL PANDORA 77 FN 6.5.05

Nicely balanced four and a half year old lady. Nice view to the front of head with rounded skull and rounded width at outer eye, narrowing to definite whisker break. Medium, short, broad muzzle with blunt nose. In profile gently rounded brow, slight stop just below the eye line, then nose is straight but shallows markedly in depth to tip which rounds. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Medium to large ears, wide at base, deep cupped and tilted slightly outwards. Large, full eyes with dark outline, held wide open, green in colour. Medium length to body, elegant and of good weight and muscle tone. Legs muscled at body and tapering to small oval feet. Tail is a fraction short to balance body but is slender and with a blunt dark tip. Coat is slightly long but fine, silky and close lying. Singapura of ivory body colour with sepia brown ticking which I would prefer to show more warmth. Muzzle, chest, stomach and inner legs of unticked ivory. Heavy barring on inner front legs and across haunches. Yellowy broken necklace. Nose leather mid-dark salmon with dark outline. Faint facial markings with cheetah lines from inner corner of eye towards just behind whisker pads. Brown spurs on lower back hind legs. Nice natured.

BRITISH TORTIE & WHITE ADULT

Nice overall balance to this fourteen month old cat of good size and weight with good muscle tone. Round face has full cheeks with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears set far apart to follow the outer contours of the head, medium to larger in size, rounded at tips. In profile rounded brow, rather strong nose break but short, straight, broad nose. Good depth level chin but unfortunately undershot (confirmed by the Duty Vet). Large and well open eyes set wide apart but spoilt by a divergent squint to the right eye. Short neck to cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a well rounded chest. Short, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat a bit long, fairly dense, just the soft side of crisp in texture. Blue Tortie and White of medium blue and deepish toned cream well defined with white to four high boots, chest, chin, inverted ‘V’ on nose, and broken collar.

BRITISH BI-COLOURED ADULT MALE

BOB POTTER’S GR CH PAMPURRED PABLO HONEY 31f M 20.4.06

Three and a half year old boy very weighty and strong with good muscle tone and looking well balanced. Broad head with full cheeks, round faced with lovely breadth to skull and rounded top of head with very good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, fairly small in size and rounded at tips. Nice in profile with rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Good depth, level chin and level bite. Deep golden colour to large and well open eyes set wide apart. Short, thick neck with a cobby body, short level back, low on legs and with a full, broad, deep chest. Short, chunky, well boned legs and large, rounded paws. Good tail medium in length thicker at base and rounded at tip. Short and dense coat with a crisp texture. Cream and White Bi-Colour of pale toned cream with minimal paling to roots and minimal tabby markings and white to short blaze, chin, chest, full collar, front legs and paws, tummy and back legs amounting to more than a third but less than a half white to colour. Clear definition between colour and white. Faint rings on tail. Nice natured.

Fourteen month old boy of good size and weight with good muscle tone but going through the teenage phase at present so not quite balanced. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears set far apart but tilted slightly forwards, small in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite but shallow chin. Large and well open eyes set wide apart, golden in colour. Short neck to medium to longer body with a level back and good breadth to chest. Longish but well boned legs and large, rounded paws. Good medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Short, dense coat with a crisp texture. Blue and White Bi-Colour of medium blue and white between which I would prefer clearer definition. Alert and friendly boy.

2 BRADLEY’S JAZFIRE MYSTERY MAN 31c M 30.4.07

Good size and weight with good muscle tone to this two and a half year old mature boy. Head has full cheeks and jowls to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, small in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and short, straight nose which I would prefer broader. Level bite and fair depth chin. Golden colour to fairly large eyes which appeared close set, needs more breadth across the nose. Short neck to cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a full, deep chest. Short, strong, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat fairly short with lovely density and fairly crisp texture. Lilac and White Bi-Colour with white to nose with a lilac splodge, broken collar, back high boots, broken front boots and tummy. Bluey tone to lilac. Shy boy but handled well.

BRITISH BI-COLOURED ADULT FEMALE

Compact young lady of fourteen months of age. Round face with full cheeks and good breadth to skull. Rounded top to head with good width between ears set well apart so following the outer contours of the head, small to medium in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large and well open deep orange eyes set wide apart. Good size and weight to body with a short level back, low on legs and with a nicely rounded chest. Short, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Fairly short and dense coat with a fairly crisp texture. Cream and White Bi-Colour of slightly dark toned cream showing faint tabby markings and rings on tail. White to inverted ’V’ on nose, chin, chest, broken collar, front and back legs slightly broken by colour and centre of tummy. Sweet natured.

BRITISH TIPPED ADULT

Mature five and a half year old boy with good muscle tone. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, I would prefer them smaller in size but rounded at tips. Rounded brow and fairly short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large and well open green eyes set wide apart and with a lovely black outline to lids. Short neck, slightly long but deceptively weighty body with a level back, low on legs and with a full, deep chest. Proportionate, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Good length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is a bit long but fairly dense and with a fairly crisp texture. Bright silver base colour with light, black even tipping just slightly more intense down spine and tail. Minimal tarnishing at muzzle. Lovely temperament.

BRITISH BLUE-CREAM KITTEN

1 & BOB ZERILLI’S WILLOWOOD TREACLE-MOON 28 F 17.5.09

A really lovely looking kitten. Six months of age with good overall balance and of good size and weight with good muscle tone. Pleasing round face with full cheeks and good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, small in size and rounded at tips. In profile rounded brow and nice short, straight, broad nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large and well open eyes set wide apart and deep golden in colour. Short neck, compact body with a short level back, low on legs and with a well rounded chest. Stocky, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Short really dense coat with a fairly crisp texture. Blue-Cream of medium to deeper blue prettily intermingled with shades of cream. Promising girl.

TONKINESE ADULT

Attractive fifteen month old lady but what a wriggler. Gently rounded top of head of good width between ears, moderately proportioned wedge with a rounded muzzle and definite whisker pinch. Profile shows slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Medium ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips and pricked forward and set well apart. Large full almond shaped eyes, set well apart bluey in colour with just a hint of green. Longish, elegant body of good weight and muscle tone, well balanced with rounded chest, slender legs and neat oval paws. Medium length tapering tail. Short, close lying coat, fine, soft and silky with a good sheen to it. Brown Tabby Tonkinese with deep brown pattern against a beige ground colour.

2 LORENZO’S ARCHENZO SPECKLES 74e F 2.4.07

Gently rounded top of head but I would prefer more breadth between the ears, moderate wedge with a slightly fine but rounded muzzle and good whisker pinch. Profile shows slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and medium depth chin. Largish ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips and pricked forward but held just slightly upright. Large full almond shaped eyes, set well apart greeny-blue in colour. Longish body of good weight and muscle tone with rounded chest, slender, fine boned legs and neat oval paws. Medium length tapering tail. Coat a bit long but close lying coat, fine, soft and silky with a good sheen to it. Brown Tortie Tonkinese of prettily mingled shades of red and rich brown with slightly deeper tones to the ears. Sweet natured.

RUSSIAN BLUE KITTEN

1 & BOB PEARCE’S ADNIOSH MISHA 16a M 19.3.09

Eight month old boy and very well grown indeed. Strong head has a short wedge from the tip of the nose to eyes and equidistant from the eyes to ears. Flat appearance to top of head between the ears. Prominent whisker pads making a broad muzzle. Blue nose leather. In profile straight forehead to upper eye level, very shallow concave curve then nose straight to tip. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large, pointed ears, tufts at tips, wide at base but I would prefer them more upright for a good vertical set. Eyes are set wide apart, almond in shape giving a gentle expression and are vivid green in colour. Long, weighty well muscled body of good bone with long, well boned legs to balance body and neat oval paws with blue pads. Good tail moderately long and gently tapering, balances body. Fairly plushy double coat, with dense undercoat, less density along spine where it is close lying. Slightly long overall but fine and soft in texture. Medium to deeper blue in colour with a slight silvery sheen, slightly ticked appearance along spine line. Lovely temperament.

BROWN MARBLED BENGAL KITTEN MALE

1 & BOB ANDREWS’S ADNIOSH OMEGA CENTAURI 76 20 M 30.4.09

Six month old boy with a medium body, long, sleek and muscular with medium length, strong legs and large rounded paws. Slightly long and fine tail, dark tip. Short coat lacks density but is soft and luxurious in texture. Brown Marbled Bengal with a very striking pattern in brown and black with a horizontal flow against a golden rufus ground colour. Clear ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks, chin straps and vertical streaks over head. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Medium wedge with rounded contours which I would like to see develop a little more breadth across the top of his head, high cheek bones and head is correctly small in proportion to body. In profile gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve to nose then line is straight to tip. Large, broad nose, good muzzle, level bite but shallow chin. Pronounced whisker pads. Thick muscular neck. Small to medium sized ears following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. Full, almond shaped green eyes, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear. Shy but gentle nature.

BROWN MARBLED BENGAL KITTEN FEMALE

1 FRASER’S ZAWADI ISABELLA 76 20 F 10.4.09

Seven month old girl who was not too happy today. Long body with a good firm feel to it, medium length, well boned legs and large rounded paws. Medium length tail, thick and even, carried low and with a rounded, dark tip. Short to medium length coat, fairly dense, soft and luxurious in texture. Brown Marbled Bengal of pale rufus ground colour with a slightly heavy black pattern. Good facial markings with pencil lines on cheeks and vertical streaks over head. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Moderate wedge with rounded contours and high cheek bones and head correctly small in proportion to body. In profile slight curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve to nose then straight to tip. Slightly fine at muzzle, level bite but shallow chin. Fairly pronounced whisker pads. Medium sized ears following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. Green eyes of almond shape large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear.

2 SLAVEN’S SLAVESS CELISSE 76 20 F 23.4.09

Nice natured seven month old girl. Medium body which I would like to see more filled out, medium length, proportionate legs and rounded paws. Medium length tail, thick and even with a rounded, dark tip. Short to medium length coat, needs to develop more density and was a bit open today. Brown Marbled Bengal of golden ground colour with brown and black markings which appeared to have a symmetrical classic pattern with three parallel lines down back, butterfly outline at shoulders and oyster shaped patches on sides. Clear facial markings. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Medium wedge needs to develop more breadth to top but has rounded contours and high cheek bones. Good profile line with gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve to nose then straight to tip. Good muzzle, level bite and firm, rounded chin. Good whisker pads. Small to medium sized ears following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. Yellow, almond shaped eyes correctly slanted towards the base of the ear but I would prefer them larger.

TONKINESE NEUTER MALE

Shy but gentle nature to this fifteen month old boy who was unlucky to come up against his brother. Gently rounded top of head of good width between ears, moderately proportioned wedge which is well balanced. Rounded muzzle and definite whisker pinch. In profile slight nose break then nose line spoilt by slight bump instead of straight to tip. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips and pricked forward and set well apart. Large full almond shaped eyes, set well apart and bluey-green in colour. Longish body of good weight and muscle tone which is well balanced with rounded chest, slim legs and neat oval paws. Medium length tapering tail. Coat is a trifle long but close lying and of very good fine, soft and silky texture with a good sheen to it. Chocolate Tonkinese of pale to medium chocolate body colour, I would prefer a warmer tone. Quite a bit of shading but it did tone with the points of rich, dark chocolate. Faint rings on tail.

Profile shows a bit more than a slight nose break but nose is then straight to tip. Level bite and medium depth chin. Medium sized ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at the base, oval tips, pricked forward and set well apart. Large full almond shaped eyes, set well apart greeny-blue in colour. Longish, weighty body maintaining good muscle tone, still nicely balanced with rounded chest, slender legs and neat oval paws. Medium length gently tapering tail. Coat a trifle long and slightly open and dense rather than close lying but fine and of good texture. Lilac Tonkinese of paleish body colour with minimal shading and deepish lilac points. Sweet natured.

BENGAL BROWN SPOTTED NEUTER

Nine year old boy looking in good shape. Excellent size and weight to body, long and well balanced with muscular proportionate length, well boned legs and large, rounded paws. Longer length tail but thick and even, carried low and with a rounded, dark tip. Fairly short coat with some density, soft and luxurious but looking slightly open today. Brown Spotted Bengal of pale rufus ground colour with slightly dark overtones slightly masking the definition of the pattern but large deep brown and black spotting, showing a bulls eye pattern on flanks, slight linkage back from right shoulder, broken lines and spots on legs, spots on tummy and rings on tail. Black and brown facial markings and chin strap. A little glitter over shoulders. Broad, medium wedge with rounded contours, high cheek bones and head correctly small in proportion to the body. In profile slight curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve to nose then nose is slightly long and straight line to tip is spoilt by very slight bump. Large, broad nose, full muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. Pronounced whisker pads. Medium sized ears, wide at base and rounded at tips. Full, almond shaped, pale yellow eyes, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear. Lovely temperament laid back and relaxed.

Well grown fourteen month old boy. Medium to large body, long, sleek and muscular with medium length, strong legs and large rounded paws. Good tail medium in length, thick and even, carried low and with a rounded, dark tip. Short to medium length coat, fairly dense, soft and luxurious in texture. Brown Spotted Bengal of golden ground colour with slightly dark overtones but good sized black and brown rosettes. Clear ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks, chin straps and vertical streaks over head. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Fairly broad, medium wedge with rounded contours, high cheek bones and head correctly small in proportion to body. In profile gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve to nose then straight to tip. Just a trifle fine at muzzle, untidy bite and good depth, rounded chin. Nicely pronounced whisker pads. Strong neck. Medium sized ears following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. 2 FINCH’S ZAWADI FIRECRACKER 76 30 MN 21.11.08

Just a year old and still developing. Medium body, long and sleek with good muscle tone, medium length, strong legs and large rounded paws. Tail a bit long and fine and spoilt by a minor defect at the tip. Short to medium length coat, fairly dense, soft and luxurious in texture. Brown Spotted Bengal of golden rufus ground colour with brown spotting showing some linkage back from shoulders. Clear ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks and vertical streaks over head. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and lovely spotty tummy. Medium wedge which I would like to see develop more breadth but with rounded contours, high cheek bones and head correctly small in proportion to body. In profile gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve to nose then straight to tip. Large, broad nose, good broad muzzle, level bite and fair depth, level chin. Pronounced whisker pads. Thick muscular neck. Large ears following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. Full, almond shaped eyes, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear, green in colour. Lovely natured young man.
