Nor’ East of Scotland Cat Club Show

9th May 2009

I spent a most enjoyable weekend judging for this club as always so well organised, with every thought given towards judge’s comfort and hospitality. I must thank my steward for his undivided attention and good company throughout the day, it was a pleasure to see you again Jim! Also I am indebted to Mr Ian Morrison for all his kindness in arranging to meet me at a late hour due to flight difficulties, it is much appreciated. OPEN

AC BURMESE IMP GR PR NEUTER (M)

1st Imp – Rowley’s Uk Gr Ch & Imp Gr Pr Papagena Tom Tucker (27d)

A mature exhibit beautifully presented and in superb condition, strength of head with rounded top of head and brow line, ears have breadth between, set with forward tilt and rounded, eyes yellow in colour and well shaped, wide across cheek bones, good muzzle and level bite, nose shows definite stop, body has plenty of substance, hard and muscular, coat rich in colour, short satin like and full of bloom, slender limbs, proportionate tail. Of super temperament.

Reserve – Nock’s Gr Pr Purfidelis Sirius (27a)

A little overweight but basically well balanced, breadth of skull, well rounded top of head and good quality brow line, wide across cheek bones, eyes well shaped, nose shows definite stop, chin firm, bite level. Muscular in body, coat a trifle dark for blue, but short and glossy, tail a little long, slender limbs, rather unhappy at being judged.

OPEN AC BURMESE IMP GR PR NEUTER FEMALE

1st Imp – Nock’s Imp Gr Pr Bellringer Adhara (27j)

A well presented exhibit, my first attempt to judge her was unsuccessful but returning later I found she quite accepted me, a good example of the ‘breed’ short blunt wedge, good rounded top of head, nose shows definite stop, wide across cheek bones, chin just a little shallow, bite level, eyes well shaped, body hard and muscular, coat short and fine in texture, attractive colouring, limbs/tail proportionate. Later BIS exhibit, congratulations to her owner.

OPEN AV BRITISH PREMIER (M) GR PR N/A

1st – Shackell’s Pr Weesams George (36)

This exhibit has a beautiful smoked coat but very loose and lacking bloom, good top of head, ears rather open but well set, rather sharp in muzzle and lacks roundness, eyes wide open just gold in colour, short broad nose, chin firm, body quite cobby, low on legs, tail rather long for balance.

OPEN AC COLOURPOINTED/MITTED RAGDOLL (M)

1st CC – Scott’s Patriarca Reggae (66atw)

Rather small for nearly 3 years of age, but quite balanced overall, breadth of head with flat plane, ears of medium size set forward tilt, eyes wide open deep blue in colour, nose shows slight dip, good rounded muzzle, muscular body plenty of substance, chin firm, coat silky but short, although evidence of ruff and breeches, tail sparse, legs quite long. Handled well.

OPEN AC COLOURPOINTED/MITTED RAGDOLL (F)

1st CC – Lamont’s Cattitude Déjà vu (66)

A very young 11 month old female, needs lots of development, broad head flat between, ears set with forward tilt, slight dip in nose, eyes well open and deep blue in tone, complete mask, muzzle quite rounded, bite level, cheeks developing, body short as yet and coat which is shaded for age, quite silky in texture, ruff and breeches just showing fullness, tail sparse. Of good temperament.

BOB Awarded to – Skilling’s Ch Cheham Tigerlilley (66at)

OPEN AOC MAINE COON NEUTER

1st PC BOB - Davie’s Pr Yaheska Avalanche (64 14c)

Presented in superb condition and handled beautifully, strong masculine type and fully matured, strong well balanced head except I would like higher set ears which are large and tufted, high cheek bones, square in muzzle, eyes well opened, nose shows shallow concave line, long massive body, fully coated, pure white and silken in texture with base, long strong legs and full flowing tail.

2nd – Wiseman’s Trappistini Shanawn (64 44a)

Rather sharp in muzzle, large tufted high set ears, high cheek bones, eyes large and well shaped, nose shows gentle concave line, bite level, body has plenty of substance and weight, coat short and slightly woolly in texture showing slight ruffy breeches, strong limbs, large tufted paws, tail has length but sparse. Of excellent nature.

OPEN RUSSIAN BLUE ADULT (F)

1st PC BOB Stark’s Dushenka Sophia Bella (16a)

An elegant female of type, short wedge, ears large and high set, flat between, deep green oval eyes, shows shallow concave line in profile, prominent whisker pads, chin firm, bite level, body has length, graceful body lines, coat double, short and sound, slender limbs, tail tapered.

2nd Stark’s Dushenka Tashabella (16a)

A shorter wedge than the winner, large high set ears, flat between, eyes also paler and two toned, profile shows angular line, chin firm, bite level. Slender neckline and length of body, coat double and fine in texture, quite sound, good blue colour, slender limbs, tapering tail, would prefer more definite whisker pads. Handled well.

OPEN USUAL ABYSSIANIAN NEUTER (M)

1ST PC BOB Johnson’s Gr Pr Pontaby Ferracosto (23)

Beautifully presented and in excellent condition, well balanced head, ears of medium size, breadth between, eyes of oval shape, good contour line to muzzle, chin firm, bite level, body hard and muscular, coat full of bloom, desired bands of ticking rich and sound to base, no white or undesirable bars on legs, tail tapered, solid tip.

2nd Logan’s Glendavan Notre Pere (23)

Very naughty to handle, after several attempts to asses him therefore I can only give a brief report, head quite balanced, ears of medium size breadth between, eyes oval in shape, slight dip in profile, white on chin and lips, body firm, coat appeared to be rich in colour, slender limbs.

OPEN USUAL ABYSSIANIAN (F) NEUTER

1st PC Logan’s Glendavan Fernandina (23)

Again difficult to give a true assessment, unhappy to be judged, well balanced head and well set ears, slight dip in profile, eyes well spaced and oval in shape, chin firm, body has substance, coat glossy and short, rich to base but almost black overlay, slender limbs, tail has black line with solid tip.
