Mrs Jenny JonesOriental Cat Association Show20.06.09Thanks to Francis, Irene and Caroleen for the invitation to judge and to the ladies who worked so hard to produce our delicious lunch also to Barbara Gould who stewarded for me in her usual expert way, handling the cats with great care. OPEN CLASSESOriental Tortie Female1st CC BOB HIRST’S CH TOGHAR PASTICHE (37h) F 16.07.07A most attractive and feminine Oriental tortie queen with a medium almost straight wedge and balanced topline. Profile nearly straight, level bite and firm chin. Expressive oriental eyes of vivid green. Large wide at base very well set ears. Elegant neckline, lengthy svelte body, long slender limbs. Tapering tail of length to balance. Excellent coat qualities, very short and sleek with warm chestnut brown beautifully mingled with shades of light and darker red thoughout coat. Delightful temperament, very well shown and presented. Havana Kitten Female2nd (1st withheld) MARSTON’S DENSON SUZETTE (29) F 24.02.09Havana kitten rather small for her age of fair type with a medium wedge, kitten pinch and needing a little more width across the topline for balance. Small dip in profile, neat level bite and firm chin. Eyes oriental in shape, straight set, still rather muddy green in colour. Good sized fairly well set ears. Long fine boned body, long legs, spoon paws, whippy tail of good length. Fine textured short coat of mid brown Havana showing lots of ghost markings. Unfortunately she had lots of scattered white hairs throughout her coat and a fairly large cluster of white hairs on her shoulder, I therefore had no choice but to withhold 1st prize. A confident friendly kitten, comfortably presented and shown in good condition. Oriental Shaded Neuter Male1st PC BOB CLEMENT’S PR LUNATORA SILVERMINSTREL (43bs) MN 14.08.07Mature cat, large and strong looking but very shy and retiring. Medium wedge head, small pinch and very good topline. Almost straight profile, good bite and chin. Oriental set and shape to rather yellowy green eyes. Large ears, flared and very well set. Long slightly plump body, long strong limbs, long tapering tail. Super coat, very short and close lying with a clear silver undercoat pushing well up, tipped with dark chocolate and pleasingly clear of pattern. Showing tarnishing on mask, chest and front legs which I felt looked worse than it was as it merged somewhat with the chocolate shading. Excellent condition and beautifully presented. Oriental Shaded Neuter Female1st (PC withheld) HUTCHINGS GR PR WILLHAVETODO IMJUSTDIVINE (43e) FN 04.08.07I did have a real headache over this black tortie shaded queen, her type is super with a strong head and broad topline. Small rise between eyes on profile, bite just marginally under, firm chin. Expressive clear green oriental eyes she tends to hold a little full, probably due to worry. Large wide at base beautifully set ears. Lengthy firm body, long legs with neat paws and balanced whip tail. Extremely short sleek coat mingled and patched with shades of red. My problem was that I could see no clear and paler undercoat on her ticked tabby coat apart from a slightly paler colour on the red patching. Fairly clear facial markings and leg bars. Excellent condition and presentation but it makes it more difficult to assess this cat as she is so very nervous and difficult to handle. MISCELLANEOUS CLASSESAV Adolescent Adult1st PARTRIDGE’S NUTROSTAR BLUE-VELVET (37a) F 18.06.08Gentle retiring young queen with a medium rather pinched wedge and good top of head. Almost straight profile, level bite, chin slightly shallow. Pale green eyes oriental in set and shape but held rather full. Large flared well set ears. Long fine boned body, long slim legs, dainty paws. Long fine tail. Short fine textured coat of mid blue and fairly sound, just showing a few white hairs under her chin. AV 6-9 mths Kitten1st ABBOTTS’ TILDEN WHISPERINGCHENAZZ (35) F 21.09.08Foreign white kitten rather small and lightweight for almost nine months old. Medium wedge head, minimal pinch and good topline. Straight profile, level bite and firm chin. Deep set eyes, oriental in set and shape of clear bright blue. Large well set ears. Long fine boned body, long slender limbs. Tail needs length to balance. Short close lying coat of pure pristine white. A friendly kitten well shown and presented. AV Radius Kitten 1st WILDON’S SUNJADE SILKMOTH (45k) F 15.10.08Very attractive and well grown kitten with a medium even wedge and balanced topline. Almost straight profile, good bite and chin. Expressive pale green oriental eyes. Large open based very well set ears. Long firm body, long legs, neat paws. Long tapering tail. Very short fine textured coat of soft cinnamon brown beautifully and evenly ticked throughout with two bands of clear ticking with a slightly darker line on spine and tail. Clear scarab and cheek pencilling, one broken necklace. Excellent condition and presentation, rather tense and grumbly but handled well. AV Non-Breeders Non-Self Neuter1st ELLIS’ GR PR MYLYNN MOONSHADOW (62 20) MN 09.12.06Extremely handsome male neuter , large and mature with a medium almost straight wedge head and wide topline. Straight profile, level bite and firm chin. Almond shaped eyes slanting towards the nose, pale green in colour. Large open based beautifully set and well furnished ears. Long rather heavy body, long legs, tufted paws. Well plumed tail of length to balance. Silken fine textured coat of good length with fairly sound black spotted tabby markings and warm brown ground. Head markings with thumbprints, scarab and cheek ribbons, barred legs, broken necklace. Lines running from top of head breaking into spots on shoulders, spine line rather solid, spots on flanks showing some linkage. Partial rings seen when tail shaken out. Comfortable in his double pen, excellent condition and temperament. 2nd GODDARD’S MYLYNN SWEET-PEA (62 43s) FN 05.09.08Most attractive youngster, looking as one would expect for her age. Very good type with a medium slightly pinched wedge and very good topline. Straight profile, bite just marginally under, chin slightly shallow. Expressive olive green oriental eyes. Large open based very well set ears with furnishings developing. Long firm body, long legs, neat paws. Fine textured silky coat, ideally needing a little more length, with a clear silver undercoat pushing up the hair shaft, shaded with jet black. Pattern showing overall and a little heavy in places but beginning to diffuse, hopefully this will continue as she matures. A gentle calm cat very well shown and presented. 3rd HART’S CH & GR PR APRIKAT SWEETCHARITY (62 21) FN 31.05.04AV Male Neuter1st LORDS’ IMP GR PR TENAJ PINK PANTHER (29c) MN 21.09.05Handsome and mature Oriental lilac with a well balanced wedge head, profile with small bump between eyes, level bite and firm chin.
