Mrs Penny Akehurst SOUTH RIBBLE PET CAT CLUB 10.10.2009Many thanks to Carol and Pat for asking me to judge at this lovely show. Thanks also to my husband John who came to “steward” for me. We thoroughly enjoyed handling some fantastic cats-such a high standard! Class 5a Any colour LH/SLH Adult Male 1. MC Atherton’s CUMULONIMBUS ASCENDANT. Lovely friendly boy of 8 yrs 9 mths. Mostly black with white bib, he was well groomed and was in lovely condition. His face was so expressive and his eyes were really lovely. Nice boy. Class 5b Any colour LH/SLH Adult Female1. MC BIC Stewart’s MICKEY MOUSE.This girl was in a class of her own-fabulous white ruff and bib, dense black for the rest of her, she was superbly prepared and presented. Her lovely greeny yellow eyes sparkled. At 7 yrs she was the youngest in the class. She was a little nervous out of the pen but once back in it was keen on everything that was going on. I loved her! 2. Houston’s SPOT THE KITTEN.What a lovely old lady, at 15 yrs 4 mths she was fantastic for her age, and very unlucky to meet such a lovely winner today. She was also slightly nervous out of her pen. She had lovely dense black fur with white accessories! Very good tempered, but sadly she wouldn’t open her eyes for us so I couldn’t really see her face properly. Class 16 Any Other Colour SH Junior1. MC BIC Crane’s TINSEL.An aptly named stunning little cat, 10 mths old, very confident, beige and ginger short haired lady. Lovely quality glossy coat. She had a gorgeous expression and lovely oriental eyes. Very classy exhibit, oozed purrsonality and just stole it today. I think she will have a great show future. 2. Christian’s AUTUMN GOLD.Another aptly named very pretty cat. Super silky close coat with rich shades of red and gold tabby. Lovely face and eyes too. She was very alert and happy. This was a real headache class-this girl is also a winner but just lost out today, I was very sad not to be able to award two firsts! Another very promising little girl. Class 26a Tabby SH Adult Male1. MC BIC Gladman’s STANLEY. This had to be my cat of the day! Huge 6 yrs old sandy brown coloured mackerel/spotted tabby boy with a lovely dense plush coat. His face was enchanting so was his temperament. Lovely big expressive eyes. Well cared for and presented. He was a real gentle boy who loved everyone and he had such charisma-lucky owner! Considered for BIC only-Bower’s MC SANJAY.Super 2 yrs 6 mths Bengal type boy with an amazing coat for pattern colour and sheen. Quiet to handle and very placid. He seemed quite a character, and looked as if he’d had a few battles in his lifetime! Well presented. Quite a close decision between these two boys for BIC. Class 26b Tabby SH Adult FemaleConsidered for BIC only-Hutchinson’s MC LILLIBETH.Lovely 4 yrs old black spotted Bengal female cat that I’ve met before. She was very well presented, but did not like being disturbed. Once we had her out of the pen she behaved very well, if grumbly. She was unlucky today to be up against two lovely boys. Class 38 Any Variety Senior Adult (Cat Between 2 and 7 Years Old)Lovely class, all worthy of first! 1. Gladman’s STANLEY. 2. Griffith’s CURIOUS GEORGE.Lovely large cuddly boy. Plush red tabby coat, very rich colour, super pattern. He had wonderful eyes, handled well but preferred his pen for safety. 3. Watkin’s JASPER.Lovely clean white/black shorthaired boy of 3 yrs. Super presentation, very well groomed. He had stunning eyes and a very pretty face for a lad! 1. 4. Porter’s TIGGER.Handsome 2yrs 2 mths old brown tabby lad with a hint of sandy colour in his coat. Lovely markings he was very happy until a balloon went bang then he was understandably nervous! He was very playful, and he handled well despite the noise. HC Kidd’s ALICE. Sadly this lovely tortie tabby and white lady of 7 yrs just did not want us to touch her. She looked upset and was keen to let us know! She has a lovely face and her colours were very pretty and well mingled. Would have liked to have got to know her better! Class 53 Radius (PR postcode)1. Atherton’s DIAMOND NEFERTARI.On her own but deserved her first. She is a 13 yrs old black female neuter. Her coat was super, still very dense black. She was in amazing condition and did not look anywhere near her age. Lovely little face. Class 58a Handsomest Male part 11. Christian’s MC TEDDY BOY.I have met this massive lad before; so laid back and very handsome-the ultimate show cat. Lovely silky blue coat to this 3 yrs 6 mth gentleman. Superbly prepared to top it all off. 2. Hill’s TOFFEE.Another very handsome lad, lovely markings on his very sleek coat. 8 yrs old and very good for that, well groomed and presented. 3. Watkin’s JASPER.4. Porter’s TIGGER.Class 58b Handsomest Male part 21. Read’s OLIVER.What a little beauty! Stunning silver tabby/white Maine Coon type kitten of 5 mths. Joy to handle, he was so well presented and really well groomed, lovely eyes and face-striking, I could easily have put him in my pocket! 2. Gladman’s STANLEY.3. Town’s THOMAS.Super blue boy of nearly 6 yrs with a wonderful sleek coat and temperament to die for, he was so loving he just did not want to go back in his pen. 4.
