PRESTON & BLACKPOOL C C CH SHOW 27TH.MARCH 2010. JUDGE BETTY SHINGLETON

My thanks to Jackie and the Committee for my invitation to judge and the kind hospitality. I had a very enjoyable day, lovely cats to judge, very ably assisted by Claire Fullerton. Many thanks Claire - I hope you enjoyed your day stewarding for the first time?

AV SLH IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION MALE.

IMP.GRND.CH.CERT. WILSON’S GR CH JULESCOON TOTO. 64 41. 010208.

Overall nicely balanced head, Square muzzle, chin just a little weak, cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones, level bite, nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Large tall ears, wide at the base and tapering to appear pointed at the tips, set high but well apart, very good tufts and feathers – so nice to see. Expressive eyes, full and round spaced wide apart with a slightly oblique aperture and set. Very well developed body in lovely condition, solid and muscular, substantial legs with large round paws, long balanced tail. Very good coat texture and presentation, black markings on a warm agouti ground colour. Very sweet temperament.

IMP.GRND.PREM.CERT. ASHWORTH’S I GR PR RAGALYN BLUELAGOON. 66 31a. 270404.

Broad head with flat plane and width between the ears, cheeks well developed with a rounded well developed muzzle, firm chin and level bite, medium length nose with a gentle dip and slightly retrousse tip. Ears medium in size, set wide with slight forward tilt, rounded at the tips. Expressive eyes, large and well opened, slightly obliquely set, showing good colour. Overall very good body confirmation and condition, substantial bone, balanced tail. Coat short today, very good texture and presentation, mask showing inverted “V” of white, bib, chest and underbody white, front legs white, as are the back legs to the underbody. Points matching in a bluish grey, body bluish white with patches of white. This boy has such a lovely temperament.

I liked this older boy very much. Good strong head, square muzzle with firm chin, cheeks fairly full, with high cheek bones, nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Large tall ears, wide at the base and tapering to appear pointed at the tip, set high and well apart. Eyes full and round, spaced wide apart with a slightly oblique aperture and set. Excellent conformation and condition, long muscular body, substantial bone and large paws. Coat very good texture and presentation, showing jet black shiny coat with sparkling white. Today he was feeling just a little cross with life.

Scull strong, broad and rounded, nose medium length with slight dip in profile, cheeks full and round, tapering chin. Ears medium size and spaced well apart, eyes almost round with lovely expression and strong colour. Well develop body in good condition, medium length legs, and thick-set, paws short and strong, would like a longer tail to complete the balance. Coat silky texture very well presented, points seal brown intermingled with shades of red. Good gloves and gauntlets.

A very attractive mature girl, enjoying her day out. Broad head with flat plane and width between ears, cheeks well developed rounded strong muzzle, medium length nose with a gentle dip and slightly retrousse at tip. Ears medium size set wide with slight forward tilt, large well opened eyes slightly obliquely set, colour a little pale. Very good body shape and condition, substantial bone, large round paws, tail just a little short. Lovely coat texture and presentation, mask showing white inverted “V”, bib, chest and underbody white, back legs white through to the underbody, points matching bluish-grey.

PEWTER ADULT FEMALE.

A young girl just old enough to enter the adult class. Very well grown and well developed broad head with strong rounded scull, short broad nose good break, cheeks well developed, firm chin. Ears well placed just a little large and open at present, I am sure she will grow into them with full maturity, large round eyes with pleasing expression, colour setting. Cobby body, short strong legs and balanced tail. Lovely coat texture and presentation, silvery white with black shading, showing ghost tabby markings on face with slight tarnishing, black mascara and lip liner, brick nose leather. A lovely temperament.

A young boy still needing time to reach full maturity. Overall good head shape, would like a stronger muzzle, cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones, nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Large tall ears, wide at base and tapering tp appear pointed at tip, eyes very good shape and expression. Well developed body in good condition, substantial bone, and balanced tail. Coat short today, well presented, black markings on warm agouti background, showing white. Very sweet nature.

2ND. CROOK’S ELMCOON ANGUS OF BEARDWOOD. 64 41w. 251008.

This boy still very young and very adolescent today, needing time to reach full maturity and grow into himself. Overall good head shape, weak muzzle, cheeks need to develop, high cheek bones, nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Large tall ears wide at base and tapering to appear pointed at tips, quite nice eye shape. Long body and tail, substantial bone. Coat very well presented, showing tabby markings and white. Very nervous and anxious today.

Overall very nicely balanced head, square muzzle with firm chin, cheeks fairly full, high cheek bones, nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Large tall ears, wide at base and tapering to appear pointed at the tip, eyes full and round spaced well apart with a slightly oblique aperture and set. Long body, quite rangy and adolescent at present, so young – still needing time to fully develop, substantial bone, balanced tail. Very good coat texture and presentation, black markings on warm agouti background, showing white. A very sweet personality.

SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON ADULT FEMALE.

A lovely youngster showing good maturity. Very nice head shape, square muzzle with firm chin, cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones, nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Large tall ears, wide at base and tapering to appear pointed at tip, set high and well apart, expressive eyes, full and round with a slightly oblique aperture. Good body in lovely condition, substantial bone, balanced tail. Very good coat texture and presentation, showing markings on a silver agouti ground.

EGYPTIAN MAU NEUTER FEMALE.

1ST.PC. BOB. CRUDEN’S PR MESKHENET MAELSTROM. 78 36. 200506.

A slightly rounded wedge of medium length, profile shows a gentle contour with a slight rise from the bridge of the nose to the forehead, which flows back into the neck, nose of uniform width, gently rounded muzzle, level bite. Ears broad at base and moderately pointed, slightly flared with good width between them. Eyes large and almond shaped with lovely “gooseberry” colour – very striking. Overall good body shape and condition, elegant legs, balanced tail. Close lying coat very well presented, pale silver ground colour tipped with black, random pattern showing, nose lips and eyes outlined in black.
