It is my understanding that a Champion or Premier cannot claim for CC's or PC's, a Grand cannot claim for GCC's or GPC's, but once your cat is an Imperial, you can carry on claiming for IGCC's or IGPC's if your cat wins.

I have suggested that the competition this year should have monthly totals (and winners) for that month only, so all cats have a chance each month, rather than cumulatively, when high scoring cats at the beginning of the year then win virtually every month afterwards. There can still be a cumulative table for the main competition over the whole year. That keeps it interesting throughout the year for all entrants and is fairer...

Perhaps they have more than one cat of their prefix out at the same show or people who own cats of that prefix who are showing them.

i was doing well third or fourth in burmese i think, then i missed sending my points by 2 days. She got imperial and Best Burmese so i lost out 80 points. she then got another imperial and BOB. I didnt submit it because whe was going to stud after that, and wouldnt get anymore points in the current show period.
Not complaining, just demonstrating how easy it is not to have a complete season of points.
I must admit i have looked at the points for some of the overall leaders and wondered how they have managed to amass so many points, at a maximum of 80 per show.

The maximum pointS are 110 - BOB 20 IMP 40 BIS 50

In reply to Ian Boardman and Steven re the "maximum points" and "wondering how overall leaders have managed to amass so many points?" - I think you have both forgotten the BIS points, BOV points and Overall BIS points. Any cat that can achieve consistent BIS/BOV wins can collect quite a number of points.

I thought you couldn't claim points on titled cats? ie a champion cannot claim the points if it wins a CC as it has that title etc etc. That's where my only criticism comes in. Our boy will be 2 in April and has his Imperial. He cannot claim points on certificate wins and I wouldn't put him in for any certificates as I believe there's no need - he's proven himself and doesn't require 20 cc's 15 GC's and 10 IGC's which could have been given to other worthy cats. But it limits what he can claim to 20 points if he goes BOB. A lesser cat could win a cc and bob and gain 40 points. Maybe for Imperials a bob could be worth 40 points to even it out a little? I also wish all shows would do BOV & BIS as there are a few shows that don't, which can drastically put one cat ahead of another because one cat didn't even have the opportunity.

Sorry CandyShandy but surely if a cat is good enough it will win regardless of the competition. This is the whole point of competition, beating the best cats!! Nobody has ever banned the likes of Man Utd or Arsenal because they keep winning, it is up to other teams to get better and beat them!

The points system is certainly encouraging people to enter classes 'just to get RC points' and as a result worthy cats are not being awarded certficates. A ridiculous situation.

I would like to see the points calculated on an average rather than a cumulative total as the competition as it stands encourages over showing of cats just to win the compatition and a very good cat shown little will never stand a chance against an average cat shown almost as often as it can be. also, that way, a cat joining the competiton partway through, say a kitten or a cat the owner has only just got and started showing, would stand an equal chance.

Problem I can see is someone may only enter one show and they could win the Comp. by winning at one show as in example 7 of the point scoring examples.
