A huge thank you to Kate and the committee for the invitation, I had a fabulous weekend in Scotland, it was a small show where every body helped out and nothing was too much trouble, the lunch was prepared in house and just divine, if only all shows were like this. Thank you to Elisabeth Stark who got her arm twisted into stewarding on the morning of the show. Elisabeth was great company and handled the cats with ease, she has a great sense of humour so we giggled a lot and had a fun day, I do hope we can get together again. SELKIRK REX IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE1. I.G.C.C. WEBER’S GR CH CRINKLES HOPE 79L 21 F 11/09/05Tortoiseshell. Such a sweetie she purred all the time, no sign of a Tortie nature here. Well developed head a fraction small for her body size, good rounded forehead and slightly curved top between well set ears that are small to medium, they have a broad base and cute curly furnishings. Broad nose with downward slant her cheeks are filling and she has width to her muzzle, this has the required rectangular impression when viewed in profile, level bite, chin could be firmer. Cobby shape to body, she is a fraction on the rotund side but with her persuasive nature I am not surprised, it would be difficult to resist her. She is into her summer moult, her coat was very well prepared and there were some lose individual curls just a fraction lacking in density, lovely vibrant colours, slightly short fluffy tail. SELKIRK REX CHAMPION FEMALE1. G.C.C. WEBER’S GR CH CRINKLES HOPE 79L 21 F 11/09/05SELKIRK REX IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER MALE1. I.G.P.C. BUCK’S GR PR BURLU OSCAR 79L 40 7 MN 11/05/08Cream Colourpointed Longhair. I judged this boy as a kitten on what I think was his first outing, I placed him first in a large class, it is good to see he has come on so well. He was friendly to us but not at all keen on any other cats he saw. Good broad head with round underlying bone structure the ears are well set a medium size with broad base and tufts to tips. Expressive round well opened blue eyes, short nose with downward slant, medium muzzle with well-padded whisker pads, level bite and firm chin. Very substantial body weight wise with a rectangular shape and sturdy boned limbs. What a wonderfully prepared coat I would think a text book example of how it should be, thick and dense definitely unstructured with masses of lose individual curls, full tail with curls that stand well away. Overall Best in Show Selkirk, well done. DEVON REX NEUTERSWhat an amazing class, I think it will be a very long time before I see so many Devon’s a total of 17! to consider for the Best of Breed, they were superb, how I wished I had more than one award. MALES1. P.C. B.O.B. WILLIAMS’S GR CH TAMORIE FANDABIDOZI FREDDY 33a 30 MN 22/06/06Brown Spotted. What a live wire this boy was, he head butted and purred all the time, it was a nightmare trying to get him to be still for a second for an assessment. Short broad wedge with high cheek bones, very expressive eyes, large and wide set oval in shape and sloping towards edges of ears. These are large with a good low set, wide to the base and tapering to tufted tips. Short nose with stop, strong muzzle, well defined whisker break, level bite and firm chin. Superb body with slender neck, broad chest and good muscular feel, held on slim legs with neat oval paws. Very short fine coat covering all of his body, showing slight ripples, long tapering tail. 2. BUCK’S PR MAGICAL SOUPDRAGON 33a 27tsx MN 08/11/08Brown Tabby Smoke. A lovely sized boy with super nature. Short broad wedge with fairly high cheek bones, wide set to lovely large oval eyes, rounded brow and narrow flat skull between large high set ears. Short nose with slope rather than stop, full muzzle with short cute whiskers his chin falls away and the whisker break could be more defined, level bite. Lovely size and substance to his body with broad chest, a firm muscle tone fairly slender legs with firm oval paws. Short coat covering all of his body with lovely ripples all over. Long tail well covered with close lying hair. FEMALES1. P.C. PINCHES’S VELVAREX DEVIL’S DAUGHTER 33a 21 FN 22/08/05Tortoiseshell. A super girl who was very gentle and un Tortie like, she obviously heard us say what a sweetie she was so she had a slight tetchy moment as we put her back. Short broad wedge with high cheeks bones, large eyes with good wide set, oval shaped and sloping towards ear to outer edge just a fraction round to the inner edge. Large ears with width to base and cute tufts to tips and nice set, short nose with visible stop that could have been a little deeper, strong muzzle and well defined whisker break, level bite and good strong chin. Lovely size and muscle to her body with slender elegant neck, broad chest and slim legs with neat small paws. Short coat with lovely vibrant colours, it cover all of her body and shows slight well formed ripples. Long tapering tail well covered with short fur. 2. ROBBIE’S CLOUDBORN PRAWN TOAST 33a 30d 13/10/09Red Spotted. This girl made a lot of noise as is often the way with the red series, but there was no tension to her body, so it was all talk. Short very wide wedge with high cheek bones, lovely large eyes with oval shape and sloping to outer edge of ear. Rounded brow and rather narrow flat skull between large ears that are wide to the base and have a low set. Short nose with really more of a slope than break, rather round to her muzzle with half chewed whiskers to the right side, her whisker break needs more definition. Level bite, chin slopes slightly. Slender body with good firm feel, elegant neck and slim firm legs with neat small oval paws. A short soft dense coat covers all of her body with slight crimping visible. Long tapering tail covered with short fur. SELKIRK REX ADULTB.O.B. TO WEBER’S GR CH CRINKLES HOPE 79L 21 F 11/09/05SELKIRK REX NEUTERB.O.B. TO BUCK’S GR PR BURLU OSCAR 79L 40 7 MN 11/05/08
