Many thanks to Celia and Linda for the invitation to judge and to the Short Haired Cat Society and Rex Cat Association for their hospitality. A most enjoyable day with some lovely cats. Many thanks to Janet Williams for stewarding for me. I do hope you will steward for me again.

A.C. BRITISH NON-SELF PREMIER MALE

1 GPC DRONSFIELD & COPE’S PR GREENDALE POLAR PRINCE 39 MN 4.4.07

Nicely balanced boy of three years of age. Full cheeks to round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, small in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and fairly short, straight, broad nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large, round, green eyes set wide apart. Short neck to fairly cobby body of good weight and muscle tone, level back, low on legs and with broad, deep chest. Short, strong legs and large, rounded paws. Tail is thicker at base and rounded at tip just a shade overlong for perfection. Fairly short coat with some density just the soft side of crisp in texture. British Tipped with a bright silver undercoat with black tipping, nice and even, slightly more intense down spine and tail, slight tarnishing to muzzle. Lovely temperament.

RGPC BLATHERWICK’S PR ADVISH ARRAMINTO 40 3 MN 26.7.06

Nearly four year old boy of good overall balance and of good weight and with good muscle tone. Round face with full cheeks and good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears set far apart following the outer contours of the head, fairly small in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and reasonably short, straight, broad nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large eyes, set wide apart but slightly pale blue in colour. Short neck to fairly cobby body, level back, low on legs and with broad, deep chest. Short, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws. Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is a bit long with some density and a fairly crisp texture. Chocolate Colourpointed with ivory body colour which shows some shading but this tones with the points. Matching rich dark chocolate points of mask, ears, legs and tail. Very laid back in his pen.

Smart, mature nearly seven year old lady. Well balanced, medium wedge with high cheek bones, head length about one third greater than the width, narrowing to a good rounded muzzle and good depth chin. Level bite. In profile flat skull curves gently at brow and continues straight to tip. Large ears set rather high on head, wide at base and tapering to rounded tips. Medium size to oval shaped eyes with top line set almost straight with slight slant to the outer edge of ear. Hard and muscular, medium length, slender body with an elegant neck. Long, slender legs and small oval paws. Fine, tapering long tail well covered in fur. Short and dense coat with a lovely silky texture. Well rippled fur on sides just slightly flat along spine and tail. Minimal crinkle to long whiskers and eyebrows. Sweet natured.

Well grown one year old boy. High cheekbones to medium wedge with head length about one third greater than the width, narrowing to a rounded muzzle. Level bite and fair depth chin. Profile shows flat skull curving gently at brow and continuing virtually straight to tip. Large ears set high on head, wide at base and tapering to rounded tips. Medium size to oval shaped, pale yellow eyes with top line set almost straight with slight slant to the outer edge of ears. Hard and muscular, medium length, slender body with an elegant neck. Long legs and small oval paws. Fine, tapering long tail well covered in fur with a nice wave. Short and dense coat of excellent silky texture with a lovely ripple effect to fur on back sides and tail which is more defined as it goes around the body and wave to fur at top off legs. Short crinkled whiskers and eyebrows.

One year old boy whose coat still needs to develop. Nice head shows medium wedge with high cheekbones and head length is about one third greater than the width, narrowing to good rounded muzzle, level bite and good depth chin. Profile shows flat skull curving slightly at brow and continuing virtually straight to tip, just showing a minimal dip. Large ears are set rather upright on head, wide at base and tapering to rounded tips. Largish, oval shaped eyes with top line set almost straight with slight slant to the outer edge to ear. Hard and muscular medium length, slender body with an elegant neck. Long, slender legs and neat oval paws. Long, fairly fine tapering tail feels tense at tip but balances the body. Very short coat of silky texture only showing minimal wave on the lower back, haunches and tail and virtually straight elsewhere. Long curled whiskers and eyebrows. Nice natured.

LILAC BURMESE ADULT

BOB WILSHAW’S GR CH ROSSIKHAN CENTREFOLD 27c F 3.11.07

Very good size and weight to this two plus year old lady with a good firm feel to her. Medium length, elegant body with a nicely rounded chest and straight back. Slender, proportionate length legs and neat oval paws. Good length and shape to slightly tapering tail which balances body. Coat is short and fine, close lying and with an excellent satin like texture. Medium lilac colour which is nice and even with minimal bluey contrast masking to face and ears. Lovely head with a short wedge, wide at cheek bones and with a blunt finish to the muzzle. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of slightly generous size. In profile slight rounding to brow, good nose break and short, straight nose. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Pale yellow eyes, large and lustrous and set well apart and giving a ‘typical’ burmese expression. Nice natured.

Merit to SOUTHALL’S COLDENUFFORSNOW YUKIKO 83aw F 20.7.08

Twenty month old smart lady, nicely balanced and elegant, deceptively weighty. Nicely balanced head with rounded contours to fairly broad wedge. Slightly flat forehead and straight nos. Level bite and fair depth chin. Good breadth to muzzle. Very good size to walnut shaped eyes which are deep blue in colour. Medium boned, good length body with proportionate legs and oval paws. Good length tail to balance body. Fairly short, close lying coat of good texture. Medium blue points with bluish white body colour showing shading which tones with the points. White to inverted ‘V’ on nose, chin and chest, front mittens and back boots. Nice natured lady shown in lovely condition.

No Merit to MACKENZIE’S DEANFIELD FANCIFUL 83w FN 19.4.06

Handsome four plus year old mature looking boy of very good size and weight. Fairly broad wedge with rounded contours and rounded muzzle. Medium sized ears follow the outer lines of the wedge. Nice profile line, level bite and fair depth chin. Deep blue coloured eyes of walnut shape are well set but unfortunately he has obvious bilateral oscillatory nystagmus which was confirmed by the duty vet. Good length body with medium boned, proportionate length legs and oval paws. Good length tail tapers slightly to tip. Coat is fairly short and close lying and of good texture. Very deep seal brown points, beige body colour shows heavy shading but does tone with points. White to chin, bib, front paws, and back boots. Lovely natured boy so was rather sorry to have to withhold for his eyes.

Mature four year old lady whose lovely looks were not matched by her temperament. Well groomed semi-longhaired coat with a pretty tortie tabby pattern and with white to nose, chin, bib and all four paws. Attractive wedge shape to head set off by neat ears with feathering flowing from them and tufts at tips. Large, round pale yellow eyes giving a ‘naughty’ expression.
