Craig Dryden Shorthair Cat Club of Scotland

Thank you so much to Kate and Sarah for the invitation to this lovely show!, I thoroughly enjoyed my day with some super cats . Thank you to the exhibitors. Rachel Tosun stewarded for me and was great company and handles the cats very well indeed I look forward to the next time. I was honoured to be asked to step in and take over some of John Hansson and Grace Denny’s classes when they were stranded by the airports being closed. This meant I was awarding my first certificates, It gave me great pleasure. I was also asked to Judge BIS and this was by no means an easy choice I chose lovely exhibits for my final 3 Adult - Flutterby Conquistador 24B. Kitten Palmira Nadia 24 and Neuter Gr Pr Keelokan Kai Kai 32/5. I chose for overall Siamese the Adult – he for me just had the edge with a Super expression and eye colour and in sparkling condition, the Kitten was separated by a whisker and I am sure her time will come. Thank you all

Seal Point Siamese Adult Male

1st CC BOB Michie’s Imp Gr Ch Highiq Haya Ji 24 M 22/03/04

A Super Stylish mature male looking very good for his 6 years and still showing super contrast and colour. Not an overlarge boy but all on proportion and weighty and muscular. Medium wedge with wide top and large well set flared ears. Lovely proud neck carriage with roman profile with slightly shallow chin and bite looked level. Oriental eyes of good shape and colour just a mite straight set. Long firm muscular body his coat was slightly dry to the touch but was almost clear. Long whip tail to balance with some sign of recovering stud tail. Long elegant limbs. Dark seal brown points with almost clear warm beige coat. Super boy looking good today it gave me great pleasure in awarding my first ever CC to this gentleman.

2nd Robb’s Kheraf Geraldo 24 M 05/09/08

Younger boy of lovely size although not so well balanced as the winner. Long very heavy boy with medium wedge needing more width at top for balance. Large ears needing more flare and size for my preference. Gorgeous eyes for colour and expression a true navy blue. Super soppy temperament and loved being handled making puddings all the time we handled him. Firm chin and level bite. Slight dip to profile with slight flattening above his eyes. Long muscular body with long limbs and very long whip tail. Very dark seal brown points tending to black with heavily shaded coat especially on his lower back, he did show contrast on his chest and on the top of his head. A Sweet boy who will hopefully display more contrast after the summer moult.

Lilac Point Female Adult

1st CC BOB Bruno- Greive’s Redmoss Aimee Athelstan 24c F 26/05/09

Shy Lady with such a sweet disposition and look, she looked far better in her pen and when relaxed looked very nice. Medium wedge with almost straight profile, slightly flat chin with level bite. Large ears well set (when relaxed) with oriental eyes of an acceptable blue that were a good shape when in the pen. Gorgeous coat of super texture a smidge long. Long whip tail with tiny pip at the tip. Lilac points well matched needing slightly more pinkish tones but these were definite lilac with super contrast to her unshaded magnolia coat. Tiny paws and dainty limbs. A pretty girl with a sweet temperament looking good today. I felt on the day she was worthy of a certificate. Well done.

BOB Only Fraser’s Ch Treedancer Na Toth 23/10/06 F 32B4

Extremely Annoyed lady making her very difficult to assess. Medium wedge with large ears well set with almost straight profile and firm chin, level bite. Slightly full eyes of good colour and flashing with temper (when she finally relaxed in her pen her eyes were better shape. Long firm body lightly shaded in tone to her slightly dark lilac tortie points well mingled with varying shades of cream. Some cream shades were very hot in tone but she was in no mood to take to the natural light on the day I gave her the benefit of the doubt regarding her colour. Dainty paws and long limbs with a long whip to balance. I did hesitate over the BOB but overall I felt that she was just worthy of the certificate – but really needs to modify her temperament as it did her no favours.

1BOB Shand’s Palmira Nadia 24 F 03/01/10

What a Little Poppet so sweet but of super type with Huge flared ears with super width between and longer wedge with slight dip above the eyes at present with firm chin and level bite. Lovely deep blue eyes of super shape and set. Cute little body developing well for her age with whip tail to balance with spoon paws and elegant limbs. Long whip to balance. Seal Brown points all well developed and matching. Kitten coat clearing well just needing to show a shade more warmth for perfection. I could have quite happily sneaked her home! I shall watch her career with interest. Very promising and ran the Chocolate boy very close for BIS. Well Done.

Cream Point Kitten

W/C Boddy’s Emerpus CreamoftheCrop 32C M 22/08/09

I was disappointed to find this exhibit was clearly not cream and obviously apricot and with well developed matte toned apricot points. Which left me with no option but to wrong colour him. I was able to discuss this with his breeder who understood. He was of average type and displayed a rather short head with s slightly square muzzle and dip to profile with rather unoriental shaped eyes of a very pale blue and not the desired tone for the breed. He was however a lovely temperament and presented well. Rather thick coat needing to be shorter with long tail and elegant limbs. Lovely temperament

BOB Only Spence’s Gr Pr Scotmar Classie Lassie 24a FN 09/04/07

Attractive mature lady of very good overall type Medium wedge with very slight pinch with Large well set ears almost straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Slightly honest expression when out of the pen and her eyes where of a good colour they just require a bit more expression for me. Long trim body with long limbs and whip tail to balance. Slightly dark blue points all well matched with only her tail in a darker tone. Slightly shaded coat showing a shade more warmth than I should prefer but overall the effect was pleasing. An attractive girl with a sweet temperament. Red Point Neuter Sadly the entrant in this class had clearly decided he did not want to come out and see us by the time we got to him and told me in no uncertain terms and I felt that it was unfair to push the issue, I did try 3 or 4 times with out success.

1st French’s Ch Palmira Beaujangles 24B M

Mature boy of very good type not looking his best today as he displayed very brindled mask especially around his eyes. M id chocolate points all fairly well matched and developed. Super heavy muscular body well developed and showing super size. Long clear unshaded body of good length. Warm cream coat. Dark eyes of good colour and expression just a bit straight and deep set. Handsome cat. With super temperament.

2nd Michie’s Ch Debikat Josethespecialone 32/3 M,

A Handsome cat of super type but for me rather diminutive for a male of 3 years. Slightly cool toned chocolate tabby points all well matched and traced with cheek ribbons. Expressive eyes showing shape and set and rather too much expression on occasion. Muscular body of good clear tone in keeping with his colour. Rather a dry coat needing to be shorter.

1st Maler’s Adinoam Lindea mcTabby 32/1 M

Stylish young male of super size and superior type, longer wedge head with lovely straight profile and firm chin and level bite. Oriental eyes of a mid blue ( I would prefer these a deeper tone) Dark seal tabby points well traced with M and thumb prints single cheek ribbons, rather lacking complete tail rings showing 3 half rings on underside. Long whip tail and long limbs. Long muscular body with excellent tone and size for his tender age of ten months. Handsome young man of super type.

1st Debrowska’s Chapelrose Cinderella 37 F

Exquisite young lady of super type with longer wedge and huge flyaway ears and the super evil look that a black needs lovely bright green eyes and a lovely sound black coat of super texture just a bit long along the spine. Long muscular body with long whip tail and tiny spoon paws and long elegant limbs.

2nd French’s Ch Palmira Beaujangles 24B M

3rd Brown’s Ch Fisepo Thisleway Aurora 32B8 F

Very stylish lady of very good overall type and very attractive colouring. Her eye colour for me was just too pale for the standard and although I felt she had many good qualities the eye colour made me place her lower. Medium wedge with large well set ears set widely angled on her head with almost straight profile and firm chin and level bite. Long muscular body with long limbs abd long whip tail to balance. Soft caramel tortie tabby points all well matched and appeared all mingled with tabby marking evident on all points with well ringed tail. A pretty lady of good type.

1st Hamilton’s Adniosh Black Lace 37 F

Stylish lady of very good overall type but again in no mood to be handled for any length of time. Medium wedge with large well set ears and almost straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Oriental eyes of good bright clear green with lovely evil expression (possibly helped by her mood) . Muscular long body of good style with long limbs and long whip to balance with tiny barely there invisible indiscretion at tip.Sound black coat of excellent texture perhaps a shade long along spine but overall very sleek and well prepared some scattered white hairs on her shoulders but these were minimal.

2nd Woolley’s Emerpus Tartan Rose 38 F

Large robust lady of good type with rather a blunt wedge showing a small pinch. Large ears that ideally need more width between. Slight dip to profile with firm chin and level bite. Oriental eyes of very pale green . Long muscular body of good tone and style, long limbs and whip tail to balance. The overall impression of her colour and pattern was warm, sadly it was heavily invaded with agouti throughout, which detracted from the pattern itself, although she did have spotting discernable on her shoulders and her flanks. There was faint spotting on her torso and this was blurred and what was there was fairly linked. The pattern on the torso was more surface related and not sound to the roots. The texture however was very good. She showed a clear M and tramlines going over the back of her head to a breaking spine line that was fairly diffuse, leg bars and whisker spots and single cheek ribbons and a well ringed tail. Black pattern colour with a warmer ground colour on her extremities and was much cooler on her torso. Presented beautifully.

Cross young lady of medium type, shorter wedge rather blunt at the muzzle showing rather a noticeable pinch. Oriental eyes of a mid blue paling towards the outer rim and needing ideally more depth to the colour. Almost straight profile with firm chin and almost level bite. Dark chocolate points already well developed but really already rather dark. Light tonal shading on her warm cream coat of good texture perhaps a shade long. Long limbs and whip tail to balance. Not an easy lady to handle due to her mood!!

1st W/H 2nd Lilburn Smith’s Tijos Tiny Tim 24B M

Stylish baby of very good type but sadly displaying some noticeable faults today which could not be overlooked. Lovely head length with super top with large flared ears set wide on his head, almost straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Oriental eyes of good shape and set but sadly a pale blue and not the required depth of colour for the standard. Long muscular body well developed for his age with good muscle tone and long dainty limbs. Mid chocolate points well matched with good warmth showing good contrast to his warm cream coat which was a smidge dry and could have been shorter. He had a long whip tail sadly with noticeable kink at the tip. Presented in super condition and lovely temperament.

Attractive little person of good overall type, large well set ears on medium wedge with lovely straight profile. Perhaps a shade fine in the muzzle, with firm chin and level bite. Oriental eyes of good shape and set when relaxed and fairly bright clear green. Dark but warm chestnut coat of super texture and good length but showing fairly heavy ghost pattern throughout. Once he relaxed looked far better. Sweet temperament and well presented.

Large stylish foreign white lady with longer wedge with large well set ears with good width between. Rather noticeable pinch today which but overall attractive pretty girl. Firm chin and scissor over bite. Oriental eyes of good depth of blue and showing good expression, she can hold these rather wide out of the en but when relaxed these were a good shape. Long muscular stylish body with tiny spoon paws and elegant limbs. Long whip to balance. Lovely pristine white coat of lovely length and well prepared. Lovely temperament.

1st Buchan’s Gr Pr Keelokan Kai Kai 32/5 MN

Huge Rather grumbly gentleman today which is not like him!! Perhaps he got out of the wrong side of his bed? Longer wedge with large wide set ears, almost straight profile with rather shallow chin and what looks like level bite. Rather straight set eyes of a medium blue and showing good expression. He has a super look and I do love his super bright red tabby points these were all well matched in a rich red tone clear M and face ribbons with tail rings and some leg bars. Very long muscular body rather extended waistline but he does have lots of body length to cope with it but please don’t let it get any more. Long limbs and long whip tail with small indiscretion at the tip. Handsome boy who I hope got over his mood.

2nd Hewson’s Enigmatic Takeabow 24N MN

Younger boy with longer wedge but rather an exaggerated eye shape and setting which gave him a rather untypical look and his eyes also today showed his 3rd eyelid. They were not sore looking but it did spoil the overall look. He displayed large ears ideally needing more width at the top and show more flare. Good depth to his wedge with level bite and firm chin and almost straight profile. Long muscular body with clear off white coat and super sludgy taupe toned lilac based caramel points developing well. Long limbs and long whip to balance. Sweet temperament.

3rd Nelson’s Murriahlyn Amadora Freya 24 FN

Sweet lady of average type with a very startled expression. Short wedge with neat ears that need to be large and have far more width between. Large rounded eyes that need more oriental shape and setting and need to be far deeper in colour for a seal. She did have super dark warm seal brown points with super warm beige coat in super condition. Shorter slightly thick set body and shorter limbs with dainty paws. Sweet lady presented beautifully and so composed.

1st Dyke’s Mazpah’s Rebel Roy 48B MN

Huge youngster of impressive type looking very good today. Longer wedge perhaps a smidge narrow but I think this is an illusion of his colour as he has lots of white on his face and the areas where the colour shows elongated his head. Straight profile with firm chin and level bite, oriental eyes of good shape and setting of a good clear bright green. Long muscular body with long limbs and very long whip tail to balance. Darker chocolate which was fairly sound and even dispersed with clean bright white which was on his face with off centre inverted v,there was also white on his chin and throat and this went through between his front legs and his chest, stomach and through to his back legs and some on the underside of his tail. He displays white on his shoulders and full coloured saddle with some white splashes on his flanks and shoulders with some on the base of his tail he also shows white on all limbs with lots of white on the inner side of his front and back legs with white going up to his hocks on the back legs. He has over the minimum of one third white, my one criticism is that he does show a fair bit of feathering especially on his face and I would not want to see more bleeding of white into the colour. The coat length was rather long along his back and he did fluff this the more we cuddled him but laid flat when we smoothed It back. A very sweet boy in super condition.

Large rather shy lady of very good overall type looking rather startled when I handled her, although this soon changed as she relaxed. Longer wedge with long straight profile with rather a shallow chin and level bite. Oriental eyes of super bright green and much better shape when relaxed. Long slightly portly body with long limbs and whip tail. Lovely even coloured coat in a warm lilac very even and nicely sound with some tipping on the shoulders. It was a super texture and length. Attractive lady just a bit shy but very sweet.

1st Hamiltons Pr Emerpus Hocus Pocus 37K MN

Huge person of good type medium wedge rather square in the muzzle with large ears needing a bit more width at the top for balance. Green eyes of rather exaggerated setting being very deep set and showing the 3rd eyelid today. Long body with elegant limbs and dainty paws. Long whip tail to balance. Warm rather faded looking cinnamon coat that Ideally needs a richer brighter tone! It was slightly brindled throughout and I wondered if he had been on antibiotics as this is how it looked. It was a good texture if a bit long down his back. Sweet temperament with a loud purr.
