SOMERSET CC SHOW

06 Jun 09.

Report by Mrs. Dorothy A. STONE.

Grateful thanks once again to the Rocking Robinsons for inviting me to judge at this special show which as always ran like clockwork and was great fun for everyone. Thanks also for the most welcome spot-prize and lovely fan. It’s a treat just to be invited to judge here never mind anything else. Heartfelt thanks also to SUE AMOR who was all one could wish for in a steward. Thanks also for your great patience, Sue, whilst I wrote up my probationary breeds. I hope I was of as much benefit to you as you were to me. I have every confidence that you will make an excellent judge.

AC BURMESE Gd Ch MALE. 1 present.

IGC MOORE’s Gd Ch ANOKHI BOY GEORGE. Lilac. 2 yrs, 3 mths.

Gorgeous chap now fully matured & in his prime. Lovely short blunt wedge of very good width, wide slightly flat top of head, large well shaped ears are perfectly set to continue the line of the wedge. Profile shows rounding to brow, rather flat forehead, distinct break but chin recedes and is shallow. Large lustrous primrose yellow eyes enhanced by mascara are well set, shaped & have typical expression. Large, mature chap, just a little long in the body is of very good weight & has that super muscular athletic feel, well shaped legs, neat oval paws, tail is rather thick but of good shape & length balances. Quality glossy coat is of gorgeous pink hued faded dove grey. In immaculate condition & with the most meltingly sweet temperament, it afforded me the utmost pleasure to make this prestigious & richly deserved award. I have adored him since I first clapped eyes on him as baby & am delighted to see that he is at last getting the recognition he deserves.

AC BURMESE Gd Ch FEMALE. 3 present.

IGC WILLIAMS’s Gd Ch MOLYMEUX BEUXTIFUL. Lilac. 3 ½ years.

Beautifully balanced short, wide, blunt wedge, lovely wide dome, large ears are well shaped & perfectly set to continue the line of the wedge. Profile shows rounded brow and forehead, distinct break & a firm level chin. Large lustrous pale yellow-chartreuse eyes enhanced by ‘mascara’ around the rims are well shaped, set & have that unique smouldering expression! Lovely mature, well balanced lady has weighty but muscular body of medium size, well shaped legs, beautiful spoon shaped paws, well shaped tail prefer longer to balance. Quality glossy coat has required satin texture and pink hue ‘tho colour is seasonally shady today. In very good condition this adorable girl has ‘wowed’ me since first seeing her as a baby. “Beuxtiful” by name and ‘bootiful’ (as they say in Norfolk) in nature, it gave me the greatest pleasure to bestow this ultimate accolade upon her today.

Res RIDDLE’s Gd Ch CHATHERA PRECIOUS PEARL. Choc Tortie. 5 yrs, 10 mths.

Short, blunt wedge of good width, gentle rounding to wide top of head, large well shaped ears are slightly high set. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break to slightly long nose, super deep level chin. Expressive primrose yellow eyes are well sized, shaped & set. Mature lady of very good size & weight but has a bit of a saggy tum just now, is rather narrow across the haunches & could be more muscular, well shaped legs, lovely oval paws, super tail for length & has a lovely “paintbrush” tip. Sleek shining coat with silky feel is just a little long but is of attractively mingled warm milk chocolate with varying shades of red. An exceptionally sweet lady of very good type whom I’ve seen in better condition (who like me, is in need of some exercise to tone her muscles).

SPHYNX KITTEN. 1 present.

1st. & BoB BLOXHAM’s WOOZLES SPIRIT WITHIN. 84 27xw. Male. 6mths, 3 days.

Modified wedge set on a long muscular neck has prominent cheekbones that are well rounded, distinct whisker break, quite prominent whisker pads but has a slight teething pinch today thus muzzle seems a little fine. Gentle rounding to skull has required flat plane in front of the ears. Profile shows slight stop at bridge of nose, nose is straight but covered in velvety fur, chin recedes and is shallow but bite is level. Lovely large ears have wide bases, rounded tips and are set at a slight angle to the head. Expressive pale yellow eyes that he was rounding slightly are of very good size, spaced well apart and are slightly obliquely set. A very well grown lad for his age has good breadth to rounded chest, well rounded tum, lovely rounded rump, sturdy muscular legs, gorgeous long toed oval paws have required cushiony pads, broad based tail covered in very soft down is long, fine & tapers to a point. Super peach bloom texture to coat on body and limbs but tummy felt slightly clammy/sticky today. Shown in top condition I utterly adored this charming chap. It was a great privilege to judge Sphynx on this special day on their rise to Intermediate status & an even greater thrill to see a Sphynx not only get BOV but overall BIS to boot. Heartiest congratulations to you all!

Fairly short soft fine dense coat with rexing coming in quite well but has a number of guard hairs down her spine & on her rump which give an incorrect harsh feel. A young man with whom I was most impressed.
