JOYCE GREEN REPORT ON THE SOMERSET CAT CLUB SHOW

JUNE 2009

An enjoyable show, as always, thank you for the invitation to judge. I was fortunate in having Trevor Cooke to steward for me; many thanks for all your help and gentle handling of the exhibits.

SLH IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION: MALE

IMP GR CH ALLEN GR CH CARAMLEIGH SPRINGTIME BEAU 13c15

Well structured young boy, firm and muscular, well proportioned legs and paws. Long silken coat, bushy tail, rich red markings on apricot base, body has golden hue, feet markings well matched. Medium head, ears well spaced, well developed muzzle, slight profile break, deep blue expressive eyes.

SLH IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION: FEMALE

IMP GR CH FITTEN GR CH FINEARTE ZEPHYR ROSE 66 31a

Well balanced girl of lovely proportions, long bushy tail. Dense silky coat with ruff and knickerbockers, balanced pure white blaze on clear blue mask, white underbody and legs. Well shaped head, flat plane between ears, well developed muzzle, nice line in profile. Large expressive deep blue eyes.

RES BRIGLIADORI & ROBSON GR CH SHWCHINTHE MANGOKULFI 13c10

Well proportioned girl with very good substance and muscle to body, well boned limbs. Lovely silken coat of has very attractive delicate colouring, good markings to feet. Rounded head, ears spaced well apart, full cheeks, very good line in profile. Almost round clear blue eyes. Ran winner close.

GR PR STABLES CH & PR MERLIESIN ITSAKINDA MAGIC 63d

Well structured, lithe and muscular, legs and tufted paws in proportion, long well furnished tail. Soft fine coat is dense, very good colour shows warmth, llilac ticking and very nice markings including dark heels and spine line. Moderate wedge well shaped, very good ears and muzzle, large expressive green eyes, alert and smiling expression.

RES HANCOCK PR JULESCOON SMIRNOFF ICE 64 41as

Well grown young boy feeling muscular, strong body and legs, large well tufted feet. Very good coat, good silver ground, wearing nice ruff, lovely long furry tail. Medium head has square muzzle, good chin, well defined profile line. Large tall ears well set, very nice eyes and expression.

GR PR STABLES GR CH & PR AMORES OPHELIA FIZKIN 63s

Mature girl of very nice type, lithe and muscular body on elegant legs, dainty tufted paws. Lovely coat has clear ticking on pure silver, lovely head and facial markings, dark heels reach to hock. Head well shaped, gentle contours, slight profile break, well furnished ears of good shape are set well, large almond shaped hazel eyes. Lovely expression. She has such a sweet nature.

1 BOB WILSON TYTHERTON CANT BUY ME LOVE 12 2

Well grown kitten, very good substance to cobby body, well proportioned limbs and tail, large well tufted paws. Super coat very well prepared, soft and long, white parts pristine, light blue with cream in patches on the face, head and shoulders, coloured tail, white underbody, legs and feet with a few coloured patches. Broad round head, neat wide-set ears fit well, short nose, good muzzle, tidy bite, large round copper eyes.

2 ANGUS PALCHINNO ANASTASIA 12 2

Wee baby who is very well formed and has good weight and substance. Sturdy legs, large well tufted paws, bushy tail. Her baby coat is nicely prepared and feels very soft. Pale blue and cream with white parts pristine. Some patches of colour on face and ears, some tiny coloured patches on legs, white feet, coloured tail. Neat round head, ears set wide, short nose, well formed leather, has a few baby teeth and tidy bite. Large bold round copper eyes, she is such a sweetie.

PERSIAN BI-COLOURED KITTEN: MALE

1 BOB REES POPUP GO GOGO JOSEPH 12a5

Well structured lad, cobby and muscular, strong well boned legs, large well tufted paws, bushy tail in proportion. His coat is dense and shows good length, very well groomed, bright red with white on head and body, white underparts, legs and feet with some colour on legs, coloured tail. Broad round head, neat wide-set ears, well formed nose leather, full muzzle, tidy bit. Large full round copper eyes.

2 FAIRBANKS SHERRIAMOR COOL RUNNINGS 12a2

Delightful well formed baby so beautifully presented, sturdy legs, large well tufted paws. His white fur is pristine. Pale blue tail and some patches on legs, large coloured patch on his side, one ear white and one blue. Round head, neat ears set wide, well formed nose leather, open nostrils, has just a few baby teeth, bite tidy. Large bold copper eyes. Looking promising.

3 LOVESY PESILUS MAXIMIANO 12a1

Well grown cobby kitten very well structured and has nice substance to body, sturdy legs, large tufted paws. Very nice coat texture, well groomed, jet black with white blaze on mask, underbody and feet pure white, black tail. Round head, ears set wide, short nose & well formed leather. Teething at present. Copper eyes of good shape could be just a fraction larger.

1 HENDERSON MAVOURNEEN HOKUS POKUS 12a1

Well grown lass with muscle and nice ‘feel’ about her, sturdy legs, large tufted paws, neat bushy tail. Lovely coat of good length, soft and fine, very well prepared, pure white muzzle, underbody and limbs; top of head, body and tail jet black, small patches of black on legs. Broad round head, neat ears fit well, snub nose, good muzzle, acceptable bite. Large bold deep orange eyes show lovely expression.

EXOTIC TABBY OR TABBY&WHITE KITTEN: FEMALE

1 BOB HANNINGTON & HARDIE NABOO DISCO INFERNO 70 7d

Dear little baby with lovely substance to her cobby body, sturdy legs, large paws. Lovely texture to coat, soft and full of life, rich warm colour, nice facial markings, butterfly and oyster markings, legs clearly barred & tail ringed. Round head, ears set wide, short broad nose, well formed leather, large bold copper eyes, she has such a lovely face and expression.

CORNISH REX NEUTER: FEMALE

BOB only: ARNOLD UK & IGR CH & GR PR PAPAVER CRESSIDA

Super elderly girl with impeccable manners, lovely coat covers well, excellent type and head. It is always a pleasure to judge her.

DEVON REX NEUTER: MALE

1 PR BOB ROBERTSON PR PHILOKALIA OLIVER SUDDEN

Mature fellow very well structured, firm and muscular, well proportioned tail and limbs. Very good coat texture, showing waves and ripples throughout. Short broad wedge with high cheeks, definite whisker break, short nose with stop. Brow curves back to flat skull. Large ears set wide and low, wide-set large oval eyes.

2 SMITH CH PHILOKALIA ALF NELSON

Young well structured exhibit, firm and muscular, high on slim legs, neat paws, long tail. Well covered in short coat which shows waves and ripples throughout. Well shaped head, large ears set low and well apart, short nose, stop could be slightly greater, definite whisker break. Large oval eyes set wide, nice expression.

DEVON REX NEUTER: FEMALE

1 PR FRICKER PERIBROOK EVELYN TENT

Very nice type, high on slim legs, neat oval paws, long tapering tail is well covered. Her coat has plenty of waves and ripples, nice texture. Head has short broad wedge with high cheeks, well defined whisker break, short nose with stop. Large ears set low and well apart, wide-set large oval eyes. She has a sweet face and expression.
